Brief Author Bio: Last year, I did fanfic. It's still in progress and being posted to various fansites. Bleh. Rather than "cheat" and finish that one up, though it could take well over 50k words to do that, I'm starting yet another project. Another fanfic, this time in the Teen Titans fandom. Wildly different from last year, and very different from most everything else I write, this will be a trial and a treat. For one thing, there's a LOT more bad TT fanfic than there is good. :-P In my free time, I am a student of all things wondrous, a writer with more inspiration than talent, a musician with more talent than time (some is greater than none!), and a worker bee for the masses. |

Excerpt: Nom de GRR
Raven jerked away from her touch. "I just said I don't know what they are. But you know what I am, and this can't be good," she repeated.
Beast Boy drooped. "Well I don't care what you say," he said, straightening up with a determined scowl. "Weird little Raven clones or not, they don't deserve to be here. Who knows what these crazy people are going to do with them. I'm not leaving them behind."
"Beast Boy," Robin snapped. "The plan was never to rescue anyone. This is a cult; unless we can prove they're breaking laws here, any kid we rescue is going to end up being given back. That's how the court system works!"
Beast Boy spun with a gorilla's roar. "I know how the system works. And the fact is it doesn't!"
Robin stared at Beast Boy's retreating back, stung by the venom in his words. "What's with him?" he mumbled.
Cyborg shrugged. "He doesn't want to see little babies be left in a weird creepy cult? I kinda agree with him, personally."
"Cyborg, you know the-"
"Plan, yeah yeah," Cyborg waved off. "I'm not saying I'm gonna join him. I'm just saying, I know what he's saying."
"I agree with Beast Boy as well," Starfire said. "I do not know how your 'court system' works, but on my planet, such conditions would be considered unsuitable for children of this age. Plus, they are so very cute!" She swooped one of them up in her arms again and nuzzled the little Raven clone on the cheek with her nose. "I fail to see why we cannot take them from this place first and find your evidence of law-breaking after they are safe."
"Where would we even keep them-" Robin started, but was cut off.
"No." Raven pulled her hood from her head, so that the seriousness of her face could be totally evident. "No. Leave them. Leave Beast Boy if you have to. The very fact that I have no idea what's going on here is proof enough for me - this place needs to be levelled to the ground, b-babies and all."
Robin frowned at Beast Boy in the near distance, an elephant trying to scoop all of the babies onto his back, an octopus with a baby in each arm, a hapless shepherding dog trying to round them up like they were sheep and somehow herd them out the front door. "Don't be silly. We're not leaving Beast Boy."
Beast Boy shifted back into his human form and flopped onto the floor in fatigue. "Then can you please give me a hand? Cuz I'm not leaving unless these kids are coming with us."
