Synopsis: Borderland Atheists

Dea is an average, nondescript blue collar worker near the border. In the decade following a natural solar disaster that has set technology back decades, if not centuries, she has been following a basic routine of work, sleep and raising some hell with friends - basically coasting through a life with no complaints.
Dea is forced to confront circumstances that lead her to the undeniable conclusion that there is more than the one-dimensional clockwork reality that she has accepted her entire life. There are senses beyond the basic five that she has always been taught to believe in and there are powers that supersede what she has always thought of as the normal functioning of the world.
Dea cannot explain what she is experiencing, but she cannot fight the unseen powers pulling her to reach new levels of awareness. How far she will need to go, or even why she seems to have been chosen, she cannot begin to fathom.
