Lol, right now I'm more excited/hyper about the forums being up than actually thinking about NaNo itself :-P

Is it November yet?

Aren't I a familiar face? This is my 4th year doing this. And I remember you.

So, anyway, any ideas about what you're going to write? I have my novel pretty much outlined from start to finish and it looks like this year I'm going to stick to my original story and not write something completely different instead...

But then again, that's what I think every year...

Me! I know what I'm writing! Actually, I know it so well it's hard not to start early *must keep pen off paper*

How do I explain it in a way you'll understand... it's gonna be 50,000 words, in English, that hopefully make some kind of sense. Isn't that the greatest plot for a novel you've ever heard?! :-P

Well, 50,000 words that make some kind of sense is WAY better than 50,000 words that make no sense at all, which is basically all I've managed in the past 3 years! Still, hope springs eternal!

By any chance, does anyone know where the author search is? Or is it still disabled?

Thanks, Jozie, but I just wanted to see how many people have signed up already. Guess I'll just have to wait.

I'm back! Second year. My first "novel" is still in a drawer some place. I look forward to giving it company!

With this email I am officially throwing caution to the wind and turning my life over to NANOWRIMO.

I'm in Galaxidi, little village near Delphi. Escaped American (with a son in Athens, and a husband in Galaxidi!) I'm going to hunt the town and see if I can find more writers to join us.

Come for coffee!

Hey squirestone! my last year's nano was bad, but the good 2005 one is...um... in my house? :D yes, that's how much editing I've done on it (even though I really want to fix it and finish it)

btw, DarknessShadows, the author search is up under "Authors" if you haven't seen it yet :D 32,994, makes you feel really insignificant :p

Hi,

Need some advice: How does one subscribe to this list and NOT get Hungarian and Polish posts? It seems that we are part of a group that includes all kinds of other countries. Maybe this show can be moved up a level?

Can we make a Elsewhere in Europe:: Hellas forum group?

Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Terry

I *think* I've figured it out... affiliate with the Elsewhere region, then come in here.

On DarknessShadows' first post, there should be four buttons underneath: Report, Reply, Nanomail and subscribe. Click subscribe (and if i've understood it right, you should only be notified about this thread :p)

If you keep getting notifications for the whole region, try not affiliating with the region, and just do ^ that for the thread?

That'll either help or confuse, i apologize in advance :D

Yes, I did see it! But there seems to be something wrong with it. Searching by genre doesn't work, it just shows all the authors. Oh, well, I guess they'll fix it. Perhaps they already have.

Welcome back, squirestone! You did Script Frenzy as well, didn't you?

As far as last year's NaNo is concerned, I never even printed it! It felt like a horrible waste of perfectly good paper. But this year will be different.

PS: I say that every year... :)

Hi All,

I have been trying to convince myself not to join this year because who has time to write 50, 000 words in a month BUT I had so much fun on Script Frenzy that I could not resist! So here I am.

No plot. But plenty of passion. That's got to count for something right?

P.S. Hi DarknessShadows! :) We met on Script Frenzy, remember?

Hi,

Yes, I'm back. And I did register for Script Frenzy but didn't follow through. Maybe next time.

Thanks for the suggestion on how to get subscribed, I'll see what happens now.

Any chance of getting together before or after? Of course, everyone should come to Galaxidi 'cause it's so neat (and there's no parking in Athens!)

yia!

Hi, Eleni! I do remember we met! How have you been doing?

I'm all for a get-together, by the way. The difference between being a high school student and a university student is that, as a university student, you don't have to go to your classes if you don't want to!

I'd be great if we could have a write-in during November!

Hello.
I participated in the past two Nanowrimos, but off-site (they were organised by a greek internet forum) and with poor results (They made sense though but were not good enough and someday I'll return to them to finish them and edit them). Hopefully I will do better this year.

Nihilio, are you talking about sff? I visited the site briefly last year, thought about writing something for Universe Pathways, and then completely forgot about it... :)

Have you ever had anything published, any of you? I haven't, but I'm hoping that will change.

welcome Nihilio! (and I added you :p)

Nope, unpublished except for a school essay going in the school annual thing that no one reads... does that count in any way? :P And what's sff/Universe Pathways? I've never heard of them

Hi Guys,

I've had a lot of editorials published, does that count? ( http://www.stonepages.net/terry/home.html - Follow "Writings" link) I'm amazed at how easy it was to get them published! But not any fiction (At least I don't think so! Can't always remember!)

So where and when shall we get together?

Terry

Two short stories at Universe pathways (plus another one that was a collaboration of three people) another one in a webzine called "Lost Cause Quarterly" and some articles at 2012 zine and Fantasy Heroes.
Nothing impressive.

And yes, I mean www.sff.gr

Hey, good to see new faces here. :)

Have you ever had anything published, any of you?

I've got a few short stories published both in print and in ezines. Here's a list of them:

http://nefertarin.googlepages.com/writing

Most recent is "Plague Chalice", published in the September issue of Afterburn SF here:

http://afterburnsf.com/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleId=3f94c1d9-4a82-4755-bb4...

Their formatting could be better, if you feel like reading, but it's free.

Back to my planning now...

Since most of the people here are from Athens, I think it would be most convenient to meet there. It depends on who WANTS to meet and who doesn't. But if we do meet, mid-November is probably best, because early on, a write-in is not really needed and later on, some people might have already given up.

I'm pretty much fine with any place and time we decide to meet, though. It will be a long trip anyway... :)

So, is there anyone apart from squirestone and me that wants to have a write-in in November?

Btw, I added everyone here as a writing buddy :)
