Other Side of Caldecott Tunnel! Concord, Walnut Creek, Benicia, Antioch folks?

I'm from San Ramon and would love it if we could arrange a write-in closer to home. Less driving, more writing! We had some write-ins in Walnut Creek last year at La Scala that were very productive.

I remember that there were some Write Ins in Concord at an independent bookstore someplace. I used to go to the ones in Lafayette - I dunno if that'll still be going at the same place.

When I was out of work -- I liked going to the ones in Oakland -- but it looks like this year I may end up working in Oakland -- not sure yet. (I'm still in negotiations with former boss at Kaiser) Once I have that squared away -- then the write ins will be a matter of convenience for me.

Hi, i live in the martinez/concord/pleasant hill area and any write-ins out here in suburbia would be nice. Walnut creek is close too.

This is my first go at the NaNo, but I've had my eye on it for a year or so.
I like the sound of a write-in, but I have two small children. I don't get out much on my own. Gotta talk the husband guy into taking over one night. . .
Anyhow, I'm in Vallejo - and work in Antioch.
Anyone near me?

Berkshire Books, on Clayton Rd, on the other side of the street from the Goodwill. I think this would be the fourth year of write-ins there, if the owners decide to do it this year.

I haven't heard anything about the Lafayette ones since 2003.

No, I go to CSU Eastbay (formerly CSU Hayward), but I go to the Concord campus. I also work on that campus.

I've heard that Berkshire Books on Clayon Rd. has been a NaNo spot in the past. Anyone know if they're going to do it again this year?

Caffe La Scala in Walnut Creek, everyone! There really were some good write-ins there last year - plus they have lots and lots of available wall outlets and free wireless. Whee!

If you're looking for something a bit quieter there is a new star bucks in Concord in the Safeway shopping center on Monument that litterally has a Lap Top Bar, where there is a plug at every seat! It is also a bit quieter than most places on the weekends and evenings.

I'm up to it and there are some good places.... I think Marie Calendars in Concord has some plugs and same thing with Denny's in Pleasant Hill...
And they both serve pie....

Granted, I'll be at La Scala most of the time, since I live walking distance. If anyone wants to coordinate things at La Scala and wants someone to show up early and stake out some tables, I'm game.

Color me jealous! I want to change my name but don't know how. I did change it during the off season, but it went right back to the old one on Oct 1. Wanna share your secret?

I'm here too, back for a fourth round. I have no clue what I'm going to write about, relatively no inspiration, and a whole lot of time commitments-- and really excited! I live in Pleasant Hill and work in Alamo.

I've had trouble making many of the past events because of an unusual work schedule (I work weekends, and get to work at 4 AM so bedtime is generally around seven), but I'm really looking forward to hitting at least a few! Can't wait to meet y'all, or catch up if I've met you in the past!

According to Berkshire Books' website (http://www.berkshire-books.com/), they're holding weekly write-ins every Sunday from Noon to 4pm.

Live in Antioch..work in Hayward. This is my 2nd NaNoWriMo but it's been a few years. I didn't go to any write-ins last time (the excuse is "I don't have a laptop) but actually it's just extreme fear of new people Maybe I"ll have better luck this time around. Even if I don't get out, I'm going to try and visit the boards more often this time around, share the misery with everyone else.

A temporarily displaced Livermoron chiming in here. I'm at school right now, but I know I'll be home some for Thanksgiving. I'm hoping I'll be in town for a local write-in -- doesn't seem like there's much of anything going on on campus, which makes me sad.
