As usual, we'd get random at some point. Put those random ramblings here!
Meanwhile, is it me or is this year's t-shirt utterly sexaaay? Fine, fine. They look pretty at least.

I wonder how much shipping costs or if it's included in the price...

It's uber sexay. Was thinking about getting it but still not sure yet. How about you? Though they didn't seem to mention anything about shipping costs. Hmmm...

HECK YES. It's the most eye pleasing design ones of the whole lot! It speaks to me in a way how t-shirts of prettiness can.
It gives you +500 nanopoints of awesomness, +500 geek and +10000 sexy wordsmithyness (plus +600 Charisma).
But I'm not sure when I'll get it. Though, it'll probably be a birthday gift to moi in the end anywho so I'll have budget for it!
I'm sure Rozen knows how shipping goes, I think. She bought stuff before!

I checked it out just now and shipping is USD$2.81 but that could just be locally. They didn't say anything about international shipping. We'll ask Rozen about it.

They ship internationally, no problem at all. If I remember rightly there's a choice between US Postal Service (slow and not so cheap) and UPS (fast and slightly more expensive). I think it might be worth collaborating on an order if you want to save costs as the more you order the less it works out per item.
I also use that SingPost thingy in the US with the 90211 zip code (almost 90210!), though it's usually only worthwhile if it's something big and the vendor doesn't ship outside the US.
When I get back to Singapore next weekend I'll have more access to all my info etc so will update you then.

I saw this book in the books bargain bin at Carrefour Plaza SIngapura, for $5. What is wrong with these people? Don't they appreciate local talents?

(Hmm...the culprit is the falling US$ against Sing$? Can't be that bad, right?)
Every Sunday I check the best sellers' list from the Sunday Times fervently hoping that the book is featured in the list, but it hasn't...
...but we should not be discouraged, oh no we won't.
Just write on!!
The sense of fulfilment you'll feel when you finally stumble on the 50,000-word mark is more than sufficient.

Selamat Hari Raya to everyone who celebrates it, and everyone who doesn't ~ It's a holiday after all.
I do love seeing others visiting each other, even if I don't take part in it myself =3 It's wonderfully unique... and stuff. Random ramblings can be difficult to express, strangely enough =3

You could try doing them in the microwave. They wouldn't burn, just explode.
And yes, I speak from personal experience.

Guuuuuys, help my friend since you guys are online and stuff! Let me copy paste her email and such. ~sticks it here cause it's random ramblings~ She has a lack of Singaporeans and needs moooooore and oooh why look at that? YOU GUYS ARE MOSTLY SINGAPOREANS! GASP! So uh do it and help ask your friends too before Friday hits!!
Hi,
First of all, thanks for checking this e-mail. I am a postgraduate research student and I would like to ask you to be part of my sample study. My research is on music and video downloading and sharing behaviour. The word "piracy" in the header refers to copyright infringement that usually follows such behaviour, and not meant to be accusatory in any way.
If you have some time to spare, approximately 10 minutes, I would greatly appreciate that you could just hop over to:
http://www.ug.cs.usyd.edu.au/~mang4346/survey/
to do the survey. It would be best if this could be done before Friday (October 19th), 5pm.
If you're doing the survey, words cannot express how thankful I am! I know it's long and appear to be repetitive, but it's the best I can give in a short time of coming up with the questions~
All responses are confidential and the analysis of which will only be used for research purposes.

This kind of reminds me of the large number of surveys (some academic, some just for curiosity) which popped up during the whole Odex scramble on various anime blogs.
Generally my view of the matter is that I wouldn't be downloading media if I were provided a legal way to obtain them without jumping through assorted hoops and sacrificing a dead chicken or something. I consider over 95% of my purchases due to "sampling" from "illegal downloads". (No, really; I counted. Series-wise, only two of my total anime DVD collection, which is in the triple digits, I bought without first watching the fansubs.)
Currently my greatest nemesis in this goal of legally owning all my media is region encoding. There's really no point for me to get the Singaporean R3 DVDs if I can't then watch my US-bought R1s, or even consider switching to the Japanese R2s.

Region codes are eviiiiiil in a way. But meanwhile! Hope you helped her do the survey! Heh.
I like regionless things cause heck, it's better for worldwide consumption non?
MEANWHILE I JUST WATCHED BITS OF THE SECRET AND I SOB.
Not that self help video about the Secret of attracting good blas, The Secret with Jay Chou in it. Just watched the dvd and like... waaaaaaaaaaah.
In a sobby sense.

Region codes are evil when what you want isn't in the majority of what you own or is impossible to find in your region.
Which really honestly makes no sense.

Y'hear that noise? It's the roar as this thread goes whooshing over my head. I'm going to set up a topic for those of us who remember vinyl and the simple life when the worst thing that happened was a stylus breaking or having the record player set on 78 instead of 45, though that was fun actually.
Incidentally, Malaysia is looking so empty. Where are they? Who are we going to challenge to a word war? Oh, I forgot to mention -- India, Pakistan and Thailand now have their own MLs and therefore their own regions. You'll only see them if you subscribe. Just make sure you stay affiliated to Singapore.

D: We so totally don't have vinyls. Well, actually my brother does but it's one of them new gadgets since he likes to do DJ thingies but that doesn't count.
Mmmm maybe Malaysia will appear more in November after all the Hari Raya things.

I don't really have that much of a problem with the regional codes on DVDs due to the fact that I don't play them on my computer. Ah.. the wonders of having friends over seas, access to Amazon.com and a TV with a multi-code DVD player in my room. :)
