Anyone from K/L around? There were two very agreeable women last year that I had write-ins with. I'd love to see them again and/or meet others!
Our old place (The old Luigi's, can't remember what it was when we went there), is now out of business. Well, it has been, but I'm a hermit of a teenager, and just learned this fact about three days ago. We could probably hang out at Sunrise Bagel's, and consume their bagels and coffee. They also have wifi, which is an added bonus. Unless anyone knows of a coffee place in the area that does refills (last year's haunt had free refills of the house drip) and has wifi/plenty of outlets?
Please please come out of your hiding-holes, my local NaNo'ers! I know you exist, and I don't bite!

30 miles west of K/L, actually. Posted the SW area thread, and somebody from LV posted there, too.
I don't know what The Merk has, but it might have something. I've actually never been to any of Longview's cafes, since i'm not much of a coffee drinker.

I'm living in the west end of Longview. I like Sunrise, but it isn't open in the evenings (unless they have resumed evening hours since the last time I was in?)
The Merc has a coffee shop in their main courtyard area, but it feels like a courtyard or a shopping mall, not a cozy hangout.

I should swing by the Merk and some other places this weekend and scout them out. I think I will on Sunday.

I was raised in Longview and graduated from RA Long High School. Looking forward to NaNo this year. Last year I was unable to participate because I was in the middle of rewriting my first novel. This year, I have structured my writing deadlines around NaNoWriMo so I can draft with a clear conscience.

Eek! That sucks. Yeah, this year I'm having to schedule some things wonkily and put things off. Senior year of high school, college stuff, etc.
R.A. Long. Rival school. =) I go to Kelso High School.

Hey I am one of those Ladies you had coffee with. ^-~ Common Ground is closed, and I was just thinking of where we could meet. We should plan a Nano Kick-off party at least? What about Starbucks? Either the one at Triangle or the one on Industrial Way? So when is everyone available and who wants to attend? I may see if the Daily News wants to send a reporter again this year.

Well, since I'm still in school, I'm available from about 3pm on during the weekdays, and weekends, I'm free whenever.
Ewww Starbucks has horrible coffee, but I guess it might be our only option. Are they conducive to crazy writer folks keeping a table for awhile?
If we could get a reporter, that'd be so awesome. I was sad that I missed it last year, it'd have been fun to be in the newspaper x3

Here is my thought, Tuesday the 30th of October, say 7p.m. Is Starbucks an option or does anyone else have any ideas. Come on people, I need input, please? How does that date work for you all? Time okay? Speak up, we want as many of you locals, as possible, to attend!

Fusion Cafe is opening this month in the old Luigi's/Common Ground spot. It wasn't open as of Tuesday but should be a nice spot when it is open.

Any idea when it is opening? That could be a fun spot. I like that building and general area.

That could work for me. It's a school night, so I'd probably have to be home by 10-ish. 11 at the latest or my mom will go into Angry mode. Starbucks is a little bleh for my tastes, but if it's the only place, then I guess it'd work. =)

My mom found out the opening date of Fusion (the bubbletea place). It's November 2nd. We could probably have our kickoff somewhere else and then our write-ins there. Unless you think it'd be too busy? What with being a new location and all.

Yeah I went by Fusion this afternoon, too bad it's opening after the first. Does anyone have any other ideas? Write-ins would be great at Fusion. For the Kick-off party we need someplace else. I completely agree about Starbucks, but it may be our only option....

Oh well. Whatever ends up working. It wouldn't be the end of the world. At least it smells like coffee xD
So I guess we have Starbucks for the kickoff.
Unless... It's a weird idea but my sister works at the Ocean Beach Safeway, and she said they have wifi now. Maybe we could go there? They have a Starbucks, a sitting area, and sell foodstuffs.
Just an idea. Mainly because my sister just now mentioned it.

That would work, too I think. Find out how late their Starbucks is open. I am unfamiliar with that one, but it is closer to home..Sounds like a plan, so does 7-9 work on the 30th, just for the kick-off? Come on people...speak up.

Works for me. =)
Anyone else gonna be there? So far it's looking like...just us o.o!
Baaaah. We'll have to go to a full SB's. My sister said the in-store one closes at 7.

Hey hey everyone. The Starbucks on Industrial is open till 10 pm nightly. It is also roomier than the one at Triangle. So I am thinking we should try there. 7 to between 9 -10 on October 30th. Well what do you all think? Will this work? I need to know so I can let the Daily News know and see if they are interested. :)

Might we be gifted with your presence on Friday night, 7pm, over at Fusion? ((Corner of Broadway and 14th)), for our write-ins, Oh Great Novelist Teuvan?
It'd be fun to get a large group together for them!
