Hey, how come it's Williams Lake and area when Quesnel is bigger?
I think Quesnel is bigger... Maybe not???
This is my first year participating in the highly esteemed NANO write month. I heard about it last year around the middle of November which quite obviously made it hard to participate. So I signed up this year to indulge my sanity in a healthy helping of self inflicted stress and torment.
I'm looking forward to it.
Good luck everyone.

*L* I called it Williams Lake and area because I am from the puddle.
Good luck with the insanity....my advice is stock up on whatever you love most as your comfort food!

I was excited to see Williams Lake on the page...I'm down in 100 Mile myself and glad to know there's someone relatively close indulging in the same sort of insanity!

I like how this is referred to as insanity (As though devoting an entire month to stringing words together in a frenzied fashion is insane). I think, after such expectations of insanity, I would be desperately disappointed if it were not so.
Anyways, it's awesome to find that there are more people in the Cariboo joining in.
Good Luck!

lmao..well it cannot be called the sanity....because with all the regular life stuff...adding this in makes it just a bit more insane ;)
the last few years there have been quite a few cariboo people involved...hopefully one day there will be enough to have a write in..

Wish I could think of people to invite to join up (insanity loves company too, after all), but I don't know many people in the area as we've only lived here a year and I'm socially challenged. Still, I've got a 100 Mile Mommies group going on Facebook. Maybe I'll post about it there.

It is indeed! I'm up in Wells, and my usual writing compadre is off at school, so I expect I'll be scribbling in solitude. But good to know you're all out there. And if there is a Quesnel meetup, please do count me in!

Well, my first time, a veritable nano virgin. My, how long since I have been able to be a virgin of anything... I have started to question my reasons for doing this, my sanity, my lack of free time, and I have come up with the ever popular reason of "Why the hell not?" So I look forward to the late night madness, the questions from the children about who the heck I am, and the drinking, chain smoking, and eating take out that I am certain will be all part of the process.
Greetings to all my fellow nuts.

Well... I'm in Quesnel, but I'm the only one so far as I know???
I'll keep looking though and perhaps convince a busy friend or two to join in. : )
Welcome.
Nicole.

So as the big start day draws closer I was wondering if any of us have the time or the inclination to get together for coffee...before...during or after this incredible thing we are planning on doing....

I would love to have a kickoff session! Maybe even do a few writing games at Granville's? What's everyone's schedule like?

Granville's?? Where is that?
My schedule for the kickoff week looks like work...except for the tuesday...and after 6:30 pm...(once the store is closed)

It's in Quesnel, on the main drag - Reid Street. It's the nicest, biggest coffee shop. Like a Cariboo Bread Garden. They even have a free bring-one-take-one library.
If you're in WL, it might be a stretch, but then I'm in Wells, so it's probably an hours' drive from both The Lake and The Well.

Oh dang, there is no way I can make a Quesnel meeting but I know there was another Nano'er from Quesnel and area so maybe they will be able to make it. My boss seems to think that me working during Nano is essential this month*lol*

Hello, Williams Lake and area????
I am still trying to get a date for a coffee for all of us, so that we can cheer each other on, commiserate over the fact our characters have deserted us and whatever else may befall us during the month.

My first go at this and glad to see there is others from the Puddle to join in the commitment of drafting up a novel within a month.
Anyone else experiencing problems logging in these past 24 hours? Tried for a couple hours last night and eventually gave up. Today...at work...seems not a problem and perhaps I can finally submit the work of day one.
Good Luck to everyone and especially to all my neighbours in the Caribou. Let the words flow!!

Come one come all...let's set up a coffee/tea/etc meeting so we can cheer each other one as week 3 writer's block hits us all!!!
I am open to suggestions as to where and when, I work days so the only thing I might suggest is in the evening.
Elenya has said the stickers are in so I am hoping that I will get them soon and will be able to hand them out to you at the coffee get-together.

My hubbie and I have a small cabin northeast of 100 Mile (not far from Murphy Lake) and we just spent the past week or so there... he hunted while I wrote. We stopped at 100 Mile's Tim Horton's on the way out yesterday, and it's only just now occurred to me that if I'd read this thread before I left instead of after I got home, maybe a meet up there would have been possible... a chance to meet a fellow Cariboo-lovin' writer or two. Ah, well... now I'm back down in the Fraser Valley with my nose scrunched against the grindstone again. Maybe next year.
Good writing everyone!

The techy gods had everything acting up for the last few days but I am glad to see all of us are still going strong. I was sad to see that no one showed up for the write-in but I am hoping it was because you all lost track of time writing your wonderful stories *S*
