For those of you who want more write-ins, I will be offering up my apartment once again on Wednesday nights for your writing pleasure. These will probably be around 7 pm so I have time to get home from work and clean up a little. I have a TV, lots of movies, and WiFi, and my roommate has a cat, so take those into consideration. I live near the Loop, so any of you WU students that would like to get cozy with your (fellow alumna) ML, please come.
If you feel like it, you can bring a (shareable) snack, as I'm pretty low on cash this year and unfortunately won't be able to provide much. Or you can eat dinner beforehand and avoid the hassle of trying to avoid crumbs on your laptop ;)

Also, if anyone is interested in joining me for a Nov 1 write-in (even though it's Thursday) I'd be pleased to host that as well. I'll be hopping on the computer as soon as the midnight hour after Halloween chimes, but y'all would have to wait until 7 pm, as normal ;)

Sounds great - I love that you have a cat. My hubby is allergic and I really miss having a cat around. I'll volunteer to bring some goodies because I enjoy baking and sharing. I didn't attend any of the events last year so I really want to get involved this year. I would come if you had one on Nov. 1st - that would be a great way to get started.

I think I'm going to try to stop in for a Wednesday night write-in or two; I didn't come last year, but now I've mostly gotten over my "OMG meeting people from the Internet! Scary!" issues. I won't be coming by for the November 1 kick-off. Orgo's on the 5th, bio's on the 7th, so I'll be off to a slow start this year - you understand. Wheee, Wash U science... But I'll try for the 14th.

I won't actually be able to have a Nov 1 write-in, as my cousin's quasi-rehearsal dinner is that night, which I didn't connect with the date until just last night. *sigh* However, I will be taking that day off (because there's too much to do before the wedding) so I might have some time to meet up at, say, Borders. Let me know if you're interested.
The Wednesday write-ins are still a go.

My first attempt at NaNo came when I was taking Orgo as an evening class, while working full-time. Out of the four tests we had over the semester, I got the highest grad on the one that occurred during November. I guess it was because I had to ration what I really wanted to do (write) with what I had to do (study) and apparently it worked. Well, it worked enough for me to pass...
so I have full confidence that you can do it! Look forward to seeing you when your midterms are over ;)

The write-in is ON! If you're in the general Loop area or anywhere close, please come by. 7 pm, Wednesday the 7th, my place (look up in the thread for the address). There will be a Pirates 2 viewing for Mike, chips and maybe dip, some soda, wine and candles or other pretty smellies. Oh, and a cat. Please bring nosh if you feel like it. We could also order pizza. There's wifi and lots of chairs, though beware of dark colors, since the cat is mostly white...

This is just a bump to let you know there will be two of the most prolific writers with a St. Louis affiliation at the write-in tonight. One is so far ahead he doesn't actually need to write to beat Luxemborg all by himself, and the other helped me spurt (as in a bad wound) all the way past 9k last night in a marathon word-war session.
So come join the fun! I'm nice and unlike last year, there are lots of chairs. The futon's a little covered in cat hair, but that's what sheets are for ;)

Hola everyone,
It's that time of the week again. Well, tomorrow will be, anyway...Weekly write-in, my place, 7 pm. Scroll up for the address and a map. Apparently Mike is donating his large TV to the cause of...er, poor out-of-college kids, and therefore there will be much prettiness on a screen.
Last week we had a preponderance of hand writers, which is pretty cool. I however need all the help I can get making to my goals (hey, I made Sunday's goal yesterday, at least) so I'll stick with the laptop.
Please come, it's fun. Drop a line or give me a call if you plan to show up, but if you forget, that's fine. I've got room for you all. Most of you, anyway. Perhaps the cat will make an appearance!

On the biggest party night of the year, come party at my place tomorrow (weds)! I have adult beverages ;) Only for those of legal age, of course.
Thanks to Mike, I now have a big tv, and I still have lots of movies. If your other groups aren't meeting because of the holiday, come to my place! I'm going to try to write AND bake, which could be interesting, but should make the place smell yummy.
Of course, we're also supposed to have crummy weather, so please don't kill yourself going out in it. But if the roads are clear, please come! I have wireless internet and plenty of seats and a good amount of outlets. Also, a cat, so be aware of allergies, though no one's gone home sneezing. He probably won't show us anything but his cute pink nose, anyhow.
I'm almost on track wordcount wise, so come join the fun and up your wordcount too. Directions at the top of the thread. 7pm until whenever the movie is over.

Tonight, 7 pm, my place (directions in the first post), one last write-in before November 30. I'm in a much better place than I was last year, when I had to write 5k on the last day...now I've got three whole (well, almost whole) days to do that same thing. Whew!
