I am the first to admit I have no idea how to add an event to the regions page, so bear with me here.
How's about, anyone interested from the region meets up in Caffe Nero in Darlington. We can meet and panic about novels, I will make CAKE (this always helps inspire creativity, I've found), you can all try and befriend the other Nero staff and bat eyelashes sufficiently to get us some free caffeine. Chris will no doubt bring the 20,000 words he's already done that morning just to scare us. Afterwards, we can go for a drink or something!
So... Thursday 1st November
Caffe Nero, lets say, 3pm.
If anyone has objections on grounds of Work, then you are forgiven, and we'll arrange to meet you in the pub later! Nero will kick us out at 5 anyway.
Caffe Nero is the one above Waterstones on High Row. Not to be confused with Costa, which is above the other Waterstones on the opposite side of the street. (Don't you just love Darlington council?)
I'm not entirely sure whether I'll be working there on that day or not, either way, I will be there in some form, wearing my NOVELIST badge and various "Ask Me About My Novel" stickers.
Hope to see you all there, any questions, just email me.
Any suggestions for suitable pub venue?

Heh. Like the attitude, but you'd get RSI from pressing two keys 50,000 times in succession.
I won't be able to for a few reasons:
1) I can't get there at that time.
2) I'm not paying for a bus to Darlington.
3) I've got other stuff I need to do on that date already.
Bugger, this is starting to sound like a worse idea than when I signed up.....

I'm not going to be able to make the kick-off party unfortunately because I'll be working.
----------Any change of arranging any of the future events at the weekend? That way I'll be much more likely to be able to attend.

Right, since I (wrongly) assumed that most people insane enough to attempt this feat would be unemployed or at least, underemployed (no offence intended, just going on last year's rabble) - it looks like meeting at 3pm isn't such a great idea. Unfortunately Nero will kick you out at 5pm anyway, so its not that helpful.
SO.
Those that can, meet at 3pm at Nero. I'll be there all day in my professional capacity anyway.
There will be a slightly more "relaxed" kick off at 5.30pm onwards in Tanners Hall - the Weatherspoons round the corner on Skinnergate. Its not the best pub ever, but there's lots of room, you can hear yourselves think, drinks are cheap, and they'll tolerate under-18s until 8pm i think - so Jurgen and Faenix are welcome too!
Hope to see you all there!!
