How about using some literary term for books...and tweaking it into a name:
Main Entry: book
Part of Speech: noun 1
Definition: document
Synonyms: album, atlas, bestseller, bible, booklet, brochure, codex, compendium, copy, dictionary, dissertation, edition, encyclopedia, essay, fiction, folio, handbook, hardcover, leaflet, lexicon, magazine, manual, monograph, nonfiction, novel, octavo, offprint, omnibus, opus, opuscule, pamphlet, paperback, periodical, portfolio, preprint, primer, publication, quarto, reader, reprint, scroll, softcover, speller, text, textbook, thesaurus, tome, tract, treatise, volume, work, writing
Ideas here: Octava, Toma, Folia, Lexi, Quarta, Biblia....search other words too, like library, librarian, etc....

How about something paradoxical? Since librarians are generally thought to be mousy and intelligent, how about a name that would give her grief/embarrassment or send the wrong message about her personality :ie: Bunny, Fawn, Brandy, Ginger, Taffy, Muffy....etc.

First off, I LOVE the premise. Creative, ironic, silly...good combo. I like the idea of a name that works both in its entirety and when shortened to its more formal state. Just off the top of my head, Ima Dee Seast wouldnt be too bad but isn't as good as Miss Seast. If you could tweak the last name so that it was something like Miss Red AND also was good in its full form, that would be best, at least I think so. I also liked the idea of something kind of silly that opposes the mainstream view of the staunch and serious librarian, or the opposite of that, which would completely embrace that stereotype. If I come up with something that is complete I will let you know. I can't wait to hear what you land on with this and I would love to read the finished product! Good luck.

Maybe when she was born her parents couldn't spell very well and in trying to have an original spelling of Karen named her Carrion. Then if her last name was something like Teegraves it would be Miss Teegraves. Or you could skip the whole "miss" thing and go with a real but unusual last name like Belcher, so she would be Carrion Belcher.... just a thought.
