Greetings Adelaidians! We, the writers of Saskatchewan, are inviting you to join us in good-natured competition. The challenge is to see which region is the most prolific in this year's NaNoWriMo.

The Incredible International Challenge began in 2003 when challenges were issued by Saskatchewan to seven regions. We have continued this challenge every year since then, and have an ongoing rivalry with the U.S. state of Montana. Many years we have challenged another region or two to join us in literary combat. You, the WriMos of Adelaide, came onto our radar screen by visiting us on a virtual bus tour last year. I, the Saskatchewan Literary Attachée, have been monitoring your communications and have noted that there is some interest in a regional challenge. Hence the delivery of this virtual glove slap across the face…

Participating regions will contend for these awards:
- The "We Are The Champions" Award goes to the region with the most winners.
- The "We Are Also The Champions" Award goes to the region with the highest percentage of winners (take the number of winners and divide by the number of people who signed up).
- The Carpal Tunnel Award goes to the region that writes the most words in total.
- The Loquacious Grandeur Award goes to the region with the highest average number of words written (take the total words written and divide by the number of people who signed up). This is calculated twice: once including people who did not post a word count and once excluding them.
- The "Everybody Gets An Award" Award goes to any region who has not already won an award. In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, every region who participates will be a winner!

If your region is interested in joining Saskatchewan in this friendly competition, please post a response in this thread or in a similarly titled thread on the Canada :: Saskatchewan forum. Thank you for joining us in this endeavour.

Bah humbug! I can't write 220,000 words in 5 days.

At least Montana will kick their arses. :-)

You may not be able to write 220,000 words in five days, but boy, have you motored along with your word count! Kinda makes me glad I'm still not competing with you this year or I would have a battle on my hands methinks!

Well done!
