I have had a lot of success in past years having "writeathons" in online chats. We don't actually write our novel in the chat, but a bunch of us get together, and set certain time frames, anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour (10 to 15 min is my personal preference) to write as many words as you can, and then take a breather and BS and chat, discuss the stories, any plot or detail issues you may be having, and generally sharing camaraderie. So, in the interest of setting some of these up locally, what are your various Instant Messenger names, so you can be added to buddy lists and invited into chats as people see you are on, or come online and decide to open a chat?
I use AIM, MSN and Xfire mostly. My Yahoo messenger died, but I suppose I could reload it.
