I'm glad someone is going to be at the Perk. I was planning on suggesting that since I'm nearby, so I'll probably try to attend those on Thursday. Yay!

I can DO Tuesday nights at La Scalla in Walnut Creek--what time do you think? I'm going to be noveling in public for the first time, and, um, nervous to be alone at it. :) Thanks!

I can do both Berkeley write-ins, just not today, as I just found out about them.

I'm also going to be at the Nomad Cafe in North Oakland (65th & Shattuck) a fair bit. I'll be the one writing in an old-fashioned composition book.

Looks like La Scala may have two nights this year. I won't be making the Tuesdays due to class, but intend to keep the tradition of 7p-10p on Thursdays. I moved to Walnut Creek this past year, so it is the closest to home. I'll probably see what other write ins I can make elsewhere too.

I will probably not be able to make Thursdays this year, Pete, though I hope to make Tuesdays. We shall see! Thursdays tend to be when all the other activities in my life occur as well. I am thinking that on Tuesdays I'll be at La Scala from about 8 until about 10:30.

I read some chatter in an earlier post about possible write-ins in the Vallejo area. Anything in the works?

I'm planning on going to the Thurs. nights in El Cerrito and the Sunday in Berkeley, but it'd be nice to have another weekday in Berkeley- Monday, Tuesday, tomorrow?

I will be getting a write-in together the first part of next week..
Any one else up for it? Any day better for some?
It's good to see some interest here in Vallejo.. I have two places in mind, both close around 8pm or there is always Starbucks.. any other ideas? Listen and Be Heard downtown, or the Galley Cafe .. both offer quiet places to write and the people are great.. Starbucks can be used if we need later... Any Takers?????

Hey Judy~I'm up for Vallejo any night next week (Except Mon or Thursday).
Anyone anywhere tonight--Fri Nov 2--anywhere from Oakland to Walnu Creek to Berkeley to Vallejo. I'm on the road with my laptop tonight, and want to stop somewhere and write.

I'll be writing 7:15am-9:00 ish (occasional) weekdays at Cafe Leila on San Pablo at Francisco in Berkeley. Nice place. Big tables, indoor/outdoor, good coffee, tea, housemade baked goods and a decent menu too. I told one of the owners I'd be posting and he'd be happy for some us NoWris to be there though some respect/space for the lunch rush would be much appreciated. Spend a few bucks while you're there. They're a new business and could use some support. There are NOT a lot of outlets so charge up or bring your extension cords.

I could make it Monday or Wednesday night this week, but Tuesday I'll be at a write-in here in Novato at the Trader Joe's Starbucks. I've never been to any of those little cafes you mentioned but would be happy to try them. I'm always thrilled to go somewhere other than Starbucks.... The Galley Cafe sounds nice.

Any Danville authors out there? Haven't found any despite the large number of San Ramon authors.

My hubby and I didn't make it to Berkshire this weekend, minor family emergency. We're hoping to make it to La Scalla, we might be a bit late to it, but we should be there and all other weekly places per the schedule.

I will be doing my all to be there for all the remaining Sundays @ Spuds...I actually live just a few blocks away. I also work in concord, so will likely be making the Wednesdays @ Panama Bay as well. Anybody have a spot in the Oakland/Berkeley area on Mondays? That's my day that I can spend the WHOLE DAY writing, which I need, because, as you can see, I'm way behind on the whole word count thing :(

Judy- I could possibly make some afternoon write-ins as well, if that works better for you. I'll check back here to see what you've got scheduled...

I live just a few blocks from Spuds, too. AND, I can write all day Monday! Want to get a write-in going Monday afternoon? How about Monday 2-5 at Cuppa Tea on College - I remember I liked writing there last year. It was kind of quiet and cozy.

My wife (first time NaNo participant) and I (three time winner) are planning on getting to La Scala around 7:30 or 8 tonight (Tuesday Nov 6th) for a while. We'll be the couple with the two boys in tow... last year's La Scala crowd may remember them. The 8-year-old is working on a NaNo story as well but has reasonably set a goal of 2,000 words since he can only type about four words per minute. The 11-year-old is not doing NaNo but is writing a short story. So it's a whole family event this year!

I hope we'll see at least a couple of other wrimos at La Scala tonight!

I'd love to do a Tuesday evening write in in Berkeley, next Tuesday (the 13th) maybe since today is such short notice . . . or tomorrow evening. Who's interested?
