I'm OK, I'm procrastinating, but I know where my first 2000 words are coming from, so I'll get round to them when appropriate.

I do mean to write every day, although of course I get busy sometimes and may skip a Thursday or a Saturday - but this is a real experience for me, so, I need to be committed. (s'funny, that's just what my father said...) ["It's funny because it's true"]

i'm going to start writing tonight, as I'm currently at work and want to avoid what I've done in previous years of having various versions of the story scattered all over different computers.

Looks like I should be having a quiet one today though so I can get some serious planning underway. Am currently decided about whether my main character is going to be male or female - I may have to go for a main female and a main male, and swap it around from there...

2732 so far. I'm hoping to hit atleast 5k today, preferrably more as although I intend to write everyday I suspect that tomorrow and Saturday I won't get much done.

A paltry 866 so far although my normal writing time will be in the evening. I'm writing at work at the moment expecting to lose a lot of time tonight with a work do. Today I will to at LEAST the 1667 average needed but I'll aim for more. Just getting into my stride at the moment so it might pick up. I do feel the urge, though, to point out that 'r' is NOT a word.

Gawd! Sounds like some of you guys are really going for it! I currently have 517 words, which aint bad, but aint a lot either. I reckon I'll pump out several thousand this weekend if I put my mind to it.

I'm getting there, 2,000 words and counting. I'll be a happy bunny if I can hit 3,000 today but given that I've hit the daily minimum I'm not going to stress too much if I don't. Currently I'm feeling a little bogged down in the details of starting my story and can't wait to get into the action. I can only hope that my characters (and any potential readers) agree with me!

Haven't written a thing yet!

Not too worried though - work has ensured I haven't been able to start and I'm always more productive the later at night it gets. I can see me having some real late night/early morning sessions over the weekends.

2688 words and two "chapters" down already. I'm hoping to go as fast as I can these first few days so when real life kicks in next week I won't be in too bad stead >_>

I've been a bit lazy tonight, but I blame a crappy day at work and not enough sleep. Still, I managed to get just under a thousand words done and I'm actually quite happy with most of it, which is not like me at all! I've managed to properly flesh out the introduction of one of the main antagonists, so it's the main protagonist's turn next. Considering I had an attack of writer's block which killed an hour of writing time tonight, I think I'm doing pretty well.

Saturday is going to be a big blitz, as I won't be writing for more than an hour this Friday. I aim to have 10,000 words by the end of the weekend. Don't want to burn out too quickly, and if I can help it I'd actually like to write something that others would want to read! :)

1366. I have no excuse for not meeting the target, I spent most of yesterday faffing about on the computer, just not writing! But I, um, have a front cover now. So, so important ;-)

What? I have to write another 2,000 words or so today?

But I just finished my short story, "Anya has a Job Interview" yesterday... I have to add to it? Ker-razy.

I've got 910 so I'm nearly at the 1,000 mark but I have a feeling that I might be a bit behind what with this being the second day and all. Little bit worried to be honest. But I suppose that I have the rest of the day to get on with it so I guess its not too bad.

I have 1069 so far. I didn't realise how much writing it takes to reach 1000. I'm hoping to go crazy and write loads tonight when I get home from work.

Ok I'm feeling a little better now. Having started off the day with about 500 words I'm now up to 2268. So I don't have long until my total for the two days has been met. I was hoping that I could do 1667 in a sitting and get that milestone mark out of the way but I needed lunch so I had to get up. Damn! ;-)

Well in my usual over eager style I have written more than my target. I always write loads in the first week then struggle to write anything at all come week 2. Current word count is 7496. Hopefully this will make up for those days where I will struggle to hit 200 words.

The characters aren't behaving themselves! I was supposed to write boy meets boy, not boy meets girl dammit! :D

Oh well, there's still time for my exceedingly badly behaved characters to be whipped into shape.

I've got 12449 words now, doing well. I'm back on target. I'm only doing so much each day because I need to take about 5 days off in the middle so that I can graduate and go and get drunk to celebrate.

Falling behind... noooo.... damn you Hollyoaks...

it's a downward spiral, I get home from work and think 'I'll just watch this, then I'll do some writing', but after Hollyoaks is the One Show, then Corrie, then Eastenders, then Corrie again, and by now it's 9pm and far too late to think about writing...

Not been doing so great the last day or so, pretty much as I expected. The head start I gave myself in the first few days is reassurring but still would have preffered to get more done. No excuse either, just having a few days of no inspiration. Ah well, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Just cracked 12 000 today, plus another 2000 handwritten on the train over the last few days. I has a good feeling about the naNo this year!
