Well, the Bruegger's in Stuyvesant Plaza once again has turned out to be a pretty genial meeting place, even if their chili is a little pricey! I wasn't the only one making some headway in my novel while enjoying the light, decor and coffee, so by mutual agreement we'll be trying it again next Saturday, November 10, at 10:00-10:30 again.

This time, it's been suggested we each bring multiple copies of three pages of our novel to pass around and get feedback - not a requirement, but if you feel like sharing . . . .

I would also encourage people to put exerpts from their nano novels into their profiles when the system isn't too buggy to let us do so! It's great to see what other people are working on, and to show off our own stuff!

As they say at my old alma mater, habere et dispertire!

Alas, I can be there before 10 or after noon...but not that middle bit. (I'm a Girl Scout leader and I've volunteered to train some new leaders at one of our camps that morning.) Will people still be around at noon? I'd love to join y'all.

I will put this on my calender, and if I can get there, will likely stay for lunch. Not sure I will stay as long as noon+, but I will linger...

I haven't met you folks before, not through this venue anyway, so I will introduce myself a bit...

My name is Andy Lee. I am a sah mom of 2 kids, and live in Delmar. I am working on a story that has been in my head for a long time. I doubt I'll make 50k words this month (with a 2yo? beyond challenging), but I am really using this month to gain momentum writing. I have the first two chapters sketched out, with some fleshing done in the past few days. The third chapter is beginning to take shape, too.

I am a student of life, enjoy writing and reading, hiking and biking, am involved in girl scouting (:D) and Montessori education. My husband is a state employee here in Albany, which is what brought us here form Vancouver Canada a few years back.

I hope to meet bunches of you!!! This is such a fun thing to do, very motivational and inspirational! Just the thought of 25,000 other people around the world writing simultaneously with me is so **vibey**!

Peace,

andy

If I am able to swing by after the wedding I have to go to, I will be more than happy to.

Hopefully I will have an excerpt up at some point in time tonight. Being almost 15,000 words in feels like a blessing but I'm already starting to get writers block.

Remember: there is no such thing as writer's block. What you really mean is that you're not able to write anything GOOD. We wrimos don't let that stop us! :) Write utter crap until inspiration strikes again!

If this weekend is anything like last weekend, there will be. I think we broke up around... 2:30 or so last Saturday. I look forward to seeing you if you make it. ^_^

While I only got about 200 words done at Brueggar's on Saturday, I did stop off at Crossgates afterwards to do some shopping, and had a bite at Ruby Tuesdays and got 700 words done before I got my salad, and about 500 more done before I paid my check, so it was a pretty good day.

But what I meant to say was that I had fun meeting everyone, and plan to attend this Saturday as well.

See you Saturday (I may arrive a bit late, the bus schedule being what it is).

Great! I'll be there as soon as I can, and if everyone has disbanded by then, well, I'll just have to write by myself! :)

Hey, I'm only 16 but craving some mature people to talk to... does anybody have any suggestions since I'm sure, due to my age, I'm not welcome to these meetings?

The great thing about Bruegger's is that as a public, non-alcoholic venue it is friendly to writers of ALL ages - and yes, we come in all ages ourselves!

I want everyone to feel welcome at our gatherings, not just those who fit into a certain age category or think they only fit into a certain age category.

Me, the category I fit into is people who drink waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too much coffee in November!
