November will be over before we know it, so let's plan this bash early! At the KO I did mention the Mandarin. What do you guys think? And when do we want to have this bash? First week of December? Second week?

I'm okay with the Mandarin (which one?), and either week is fine. If it is on a Sat or Sun, I will not be able to get there until after 6 PM.

Looking forward to it - thanks,
KS

(I've been bad today - no writing. My only excuse is a debilitating pain in my left arm - however, I have been plotting up a storm and will get back at it on Wednesday, I'm away all day tomorrow.)

I'm with you KS. My brain felt really fried. I forced myself to 30K.

Mandarin is fine with me to, any time.

Oh, Welestra, you are such a party animal!

I luuuuurve the Mandarin!

I would prefer the first week of December, as the closer we get to Christmas, the busier people get with other things.

The Mandarin sounds great. As for the date, I'm open. After I'm finished this I'll be more than happy to celebrate.

I think Dec 1 would be great. When the horror finally ceases Nov 30th I'll be ready for a party pronto!

As for the venue - no concerns. I've never met a menu I didn't like.

Cheers

Would Ms Hoopy (Carasin) and I be allowed to bring our own cake there? Because, we are planning on making one together for TGIO.

Other then that, I'm good:-)

I'm confident we could negotiate sufficient cake clearance. Especially if we're all paying for the buffet.

I will definitely inquire it when I speak to them to make the reservation.

Sounds like a wicked way to end the month. The Mandarin is a fine choice as the buffet offers a wide variety of foods for all to enjoy as well as a decent assortment of veggie only dishes in case any of our writers don't consume meat.

I am definitely in... so do we just leave a note here to reserve our spot?

Giving this thread a bump. Please remember to reserve your spot by Saturday November 24th. This party will be taking place December 1st, 2007 at The Mandarin on Upper James.

I may be going to PA that weekend!! Depending if I go (which is a most probably) and what time I'll be bcak (I shall inquire as to an estimated time as soon as I speak with parental unit) I might be there. If I'm back before or around 5, I will DEFINATELY be there! (wowzers that will be a long day:-P)

Okay, I know that this is after the due date, but I'm going to say that I'll come, anyway. Haven't been to the Mandarin in quite a while, and I'm not generally wild about chinese food, but hopefully I'll find some nice stuff to munch on right?

And in case anyone is at all interested, the reason why I'm awake and posting at this lonely hour is that I was woken up by an old anxiety dream... that I was still in high school, (going to Westdale, actually,) and having problems getting to school on time for first period class. Which is so weird, considering that for the last four years or so I've been usually getting to work at something like 7:15 in the morning. *shrugs*

Have we settled for sure on a time?

At Saturday's write-in, we were saying that since 5 pm was too early for some people, we would catch more people if we had it at 6.

Welestra, have you made the reservation yet, and what do you think about 6 p.m.?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it.
But I hope we can all still get together ocassionally for a bit of writing/conversation every now and again. It's nice to find people who offer such encouragement and I'd hate to have to wait until next November to see you all again!

I can definitely make 6 PM.

If you change it to a lunchtime deal (re email about prices for lunch/dinner) I won't be able to attend as I won't be back from work until about 5:30 - 5:45.

I hope to get a chance to meet as many of you as possible.

Just sent out a regional email re: Mandarin. According to what they told me, the lunch buffet is $15 (11:30am-3pm) and the dinner buffet is $22.99(4-10:30). So let me know what works for you guys.

The Lunch works better for me, I have to babysit that night, and so otherwise I wouldn't be able to make it (and it is cheaper for the student)
