I have a small blogspot website that I've gradually added to. It's not much yet, because I'm writing stuff other places. It's pretty random, but you're welcome to visit and comment if you like. My most recent post is about my NaNoWriMo book. I had a lot of trouble getting it to post because I managed to forget my password, etc. See how often I go there? Pretty pathetic, really. Anyway, this is it! http://writersanctuary.blogspot.com/

Very nice site.

In regard to your problem, I'd say that since the month isn't even half over yet, just keep going and see where it goes.

And I just have to mention that your word count is obscene. :)

Yeah, I know how you feel. Only one out of my huge clique of friends writes, and she only dabbles in a short story or two, nothing near to the novels I pump out with. People don't understand when I start talking about how mad I got at this character because he did a completely asinine thing. Sometimes I'll rant about how much I really hate some of my characters and would like nothing better than to send them into a little oubliette, only to hear my friends say in exasperation "How can you get mad at them when YOU made them? Can't you just rewrite it to make them do what you want?" but most of the time I just hear a simple "Drugs are bad for you, Kare-Bear."

And your word count, by the way, is sickening and insults me to my very core. I just peaked 10,000 about fifty words ago as I try to balance school, what little social life I have, chores, and these ridiculous projects the teachers are hurling at me ever five minutes because they're all in a conspiracy out to get me. But good for you, and screw the word count, just keep writing.

If I had to go to school, I'd be screwed too. I have the advantage that my kids are either moved away or in school, so my day is pretty much my own - unless my husband decides he wants to have a conversation. He works nights, so the morning is the only time we really have to see each other. Also, since I don't have to get up as early as I used to, I stay up late at night. I get my best writing done between 11 and 12. However, being sleep deprived isn't always a good thing.

I live in my own little world when I get into a book. I live, breathe, think and sleep the storyline. I'm hopelessly hooked on the main character of my sci-fi series. If he were a real person and I wasn't so happily married, I'd fall in love with him. Actually, when I break down some of his characteristics, I AM married to him! I don't know if my husband has figured it out yet, but there's a lot of him in Wil. Maybe that's why I love him so much. I think that's also the reason he seems so real to me. The others don't have that same quality.

Ha! and I thought I was the only one to fall in love with my characters!
It actually caused me to lessen the villainy of my '05 vampire villain.
This year, I'm writing in a completely different universe that came out of nowhere so I don't have a "love interest" yet and my characters are turning out as mean as I need them to be. =)

Well, I confess I've "killed" three of my main characters, but by a miracle was able to bring them back. Frankly, there's no way the series would move on if Wil died and stayed dead. There is no one to take his place. His wife, also a major character, would fall to pieces and be completely useless, his kids are too young to do much - although his son has interesting possibilities.

I love having a really good villain. One thing I always appreciated about the villain in "Othello" by Shakespeare, was that Iago was completely committed to being bad. He set a goal and pursued it no matter what. His goal was to bring Othello down, and he accomplished it with a truly impressive precision that I have to admire. Of course, he's totally evil and deserves to die, but he did what he set out to do. I try to keep him in mind when my bad guys want to be "good".

Good luck with your villainous villainy!
