About this time every NaNo, I let myself come up for air from my noveling efforts and make a concerted effort to spend some time in the forum community spreading some words of encouragement to my fellow wannabe-novelists.
The idea is simple: browse through the forums of your choice and randomly click on users in those forums. Read their novel excerpts, and then NanoMail them with positive feedback and words of encouragement. I usually plan on sending out at least 5 Nanomails in my genre (Sci-Fi) and 5 in my region (Kansas).
Sound like a good idea? Feel free to join me. Believe me, there's nothing like receiving a NanoMail from someone who's read your excerpt and wants to read the rest of your book. You can be the person that sends that message. You'll feel great about it afterwards!
Happy NaNoing!

I've read several of them. Unfortunately, a lot of people that I would like to read something under their nicks have decided not to post excerpts. It's still fun to visit their places and see if they have other interests and so on. I hope you read mine, Ted. I read yours. That really does sound a bit odd.....Well, you know it's innocent. :)
