I would love to know how many novels written in our group I can pick up on December 8th and take back with me to read. Who's willing to let me read?

You can take mine. I have it on my LiveJournal, but if you want I will put it on a CD for you or something.
But I want a copy of yours too.

Well, if you have a laptop that'll take a flash drive, you can take a copy of mine (provided I remain on track and finish on time). Provided you're into hastily-written science fiction at all... ;)

I'll take your hastily written science fiction if you take my hastily written teen melodrama. =)

I'll take both, and any others that come my way.
Anybody want a really REALLY hastily written mystery/suspense? I should have it round-one edited by then.
And hey - I have another proposition. I have a gang of friends - also writers in the Durham Region - who meet once a month or so. Since I moved out East and other members have moved on in life, the core group is really, really needing some new blood. No membership fee, nothing structured, completely informal. One writes romance and is a reigning member of Toronto Romance Writers, one writes mainstream fiction, one writes for children and does mainstream. Like some of you, they love to do write-ins and kick start their creativity (or just co-miserate).
If you're interested, I can connect y'all with that group and get a meeting going in early December or in January. Takers?

Margo,
Not the best time in my life, but we should keep in touch, I may want to join your friends later...
And I'll take your novel. =)

My writing has become very hit and miss lately and NaNo was an excuse to put the pen to paper again, so to speak. A writing group around here might not be such a bad thing to keep the brain from rusting again, although it will certainly have to wait until after Christmas... I have way too much going on already, but hopefully things will slow a little in the New Year. :)
I'm a definite maybe. ;)

Sorry I am a bit late replying. But real life ( washing machine breaking down, fuses blowing, dentist insisting on taking my money etc) seem to play havoc with the important stuff, namely NaNoWriMo. I would certainly be interested in meeting with a group of writers sometime in December. And you can read my novel (well I dare call it that ) if I can read yours. Mine will not be available for general consumption after heavyduty editing has been performed, again sometimes in December.

My last sentence on my last reply should really read: Mine will not be available for general consumption *until* heavyduty editing has been performed, again sometimes in December.

Well it will be extremely rough and a tad dry, but I'll save a copy to disk for you to read. Be prepared for some very graphic scenes. I've had a few people who read my work ask me how I sleep at night. I sleep very well after I write out all of the nightmares I might have. I would love to read about Mummers in his entirety. When I can get things settled around the home, I would love to get together with some other local writers. I was actually contemplating oraganizing a local horror writers group. I wonder if any one would be interested in that.

Bring it on. I've got at least one writer-friend who's goal in life is to make people faint while reading.
Speaking of which, he might even be interested in hanging out with like-minded sickos. I mean gore-writing psychopaths. I mean horror-writers! I'll get it right yet.
When you commit it to disk, can you make it a CD or something? Better if you have a thumb drive.
And okay, speaking of sick, how bad is this? I edited the book twice in the last ten days, and I'm REALLY having withdrawal symptoms today. I NEED to WRITE! AGH!
By the way, BL - nice progress! Hoowah!
