I have reached the goal of 50,000 words! (though I am certainly not going to stop writing just because I have reached the goal; I must finish the novel!)
But that is not the whole purpose of this post. This is to praise the write-ins and all of the motivation and great numbers of word count that come from them.
If you feel you are behind in your word count and have not come to any meetings yet, come join us for motivation and support. If you are right on track but feel you could use some extra motivation or just think it would be great to be around people who are going through the same craziness as you, you should come out to the meetings. If you are ahead but want to encourage others to catch up, come to the meetings. :p
It really is true about the meetings being extremely inspirational, great places to get word count done, and there being people there who will get your butt in gear if you start slacking.
And that is the end of my spiel about why everyone should come join the fun and insanity of the write-ins so that you get the full crazy experience of NaNo. =)

You're somethin', that's for sure. ;) And I'd really appreciate it if you'd STOP trying to corrupt me. KTHNX.
And because it came up at the meeting, dead and fake people I would marry:
Dead
Jean-Paul Sartre (He's my philosophical boyfriend. :p)
Cesare Borgia (Mmm...Borgias)
Rumi (Ngh)
Fake
James Potter (Harry Potter)
The blind assassin (The Blind Assassin)
Crowley (Good Omens)
Tristran (Stardust)
Nicholas D. Wolfwood (Trigun)
And there's a whole other list of fake and dead people I'd just have one night flings with...but that would be really kind of long. >.>

Hello, I'm Kathy in Kissimmee. I joined NaNo on Thursday and got my first email from the region yesterday.
Love the question on who you would marry.
I have a question for all. In a book by Jayne Ann Krentz (as Amanda Quick), a character was selling rare books to get the money to buy a book he wanted even more.
What book, or type of book, would you covet enough to sell some of your cache of favorite books?
6setdreamer (I'm on Book 1 of a six book series of a fantasy world I'm still dreaming about writing, at least I have a page outline for each of them LOL)

Dkiplan - I just started reading those, but I do have a pretty unnatural love for Hakkai. <3
6set - I want a copy of the Necronomicon signed by the author.
E - I'm sorry I've apparently hijacked your thread. :p But you are still awesome.

I almost agree with you on James Potter... except that Sirius demanded that he be the fake person in the HP series I would marry. haha

He is very demanding that way. It's why I couldn't marry him. I COULD marry Remus though, and let him come visit. ;)

Remus can to be too mellow at times for my liking, though. So I don't think we'd work. But I would like to just be friends. :p
However, stepping away from the Marauders, I could definitely marry Bill or George Weasley because they just seem like awesome fun. :D

They would be massive amounts of fun. Probably a lot like John in high school, the delinquent. >.> Non-Marauders eh? Probably Neville. <3 He kicks so much ass.

Ah, yes, Neville is awesome. =D And if Draco weren't such a coward he'd probably be fun in that evil kind of way. haha
So would Snape, actually--be fun in that evil kind of way, if he weren't so "I am Snape, *angst angst angst*" all the time. :p Well, maybe that isn't the best way to describe him.

I live in Kissimmee and joined NaNo on the 15th. I'm going to be in the area of the Mobile Mud Cafe (really weird name) tomorrow about 4 - 4:30 on the way back from a doctor's appointment. (Pain management for my spine)
Would there be any problem in me going to this place that early and waiting for the rest of you to come around 6? I have never been anywhere like this before and don't know how they would feel about someone staying so long. (I would buy something for my supper while I'm waiting) I just know that if I drive all the way home, I won't be physically capable of driving back there. And I would like to meet some of you. This might be the only meeting I get to because of my physical limitations.
Can someone tell me about this place and what to expect?

Hi Kathy in Kissimmee!
I hope you don't get this too late. The people at Mobile Mud are very cool & will have no problem if you hang out there & wait for the rest of us. They're used to it. Anyway, people usually start showing up around 5 or 5:30 anyway, so you won't have to wait long. It's a very low key coffee house. As for the meetings, we do a ton of writing & a lot of talking. You'll have fun. :)
I'm really happy that you're going to make it out tomorrow! Good luck at the doc's tomorrow.

My back is killing me, but If I can sit long enough, I really want to go tomorrow.
I have already missed 2 write ins I had planned on due to illness, so I'm crossing my fingers to be able to make this one.

I'm staring 50000 in the eye and daring it to flinch. I'm hoping to hit 50K tomorrow though there are still parts of the plotline to work out. But it's always nice to pass that "made it" point and enjoy the rest of November at a downhill coast.

Should have known KL would start a thread like this one....
Dead People:
Young Shakespeare
Fake People:
Peter Jackson's Legolas (do you think pointy ears are an erogenous zone?)
David Tennant's Dr. Who (as long as he doesn't do that Scary Barty Face thing)
Captain Jack Harkness (no Death by Pterodactyl for this hottie!!!!)
Remus Lupin (all the way!!!!- DEATH TO THE PINK MENACE!!!!!)

Hey, I didn't start it, I highjacked the thread from E. I didn't start the one in Off Topic either, I just like answering weird questions. :p
I think pointy ears probably have a very strong erogenous point, must have. *nods* Oh, Ten. *happy sigh* Did you see the mini-episode for Children in Need where 10 meets 5?
5: The Master, does he still have that beard?
10: No, no. Well, a wife.
