It's time to solidify plans for the Wrap Up Party. It will take place Saturday December 1st, time and place to be decided depending on preferences.

My personal preference is a late afternoon get together at 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall downtown because they have plenty of space, an extensive beer selection, and a nice pub menu. However this party is for everybody and before I finalize the plans I'd like to hear some input from others. We could do another beach barbecue at Twin Lakes or meet for a potluck. Neither ML can host a lot of people, so we can't help but lean toward meeting someplace public. I also reason that given that I'll likely be burning the midnight oil to cram in more words before midnight the night before, I'm not going to want to cook anything or stop at KFC for a bucket to bring.

What do you think. I want to finalize plans before everybody puts NaNoWriMo away for Thanksgiving.

Speaking of TG, I'm not doing much so plan to go to a coffeehouse that is open. I'll probably be lazy and go either to Surf City or Starbucks in Aptos because I live so close. It would be fun to meet for a write up someplace else, though. Thanksgiving is more fun for me when I write that morning so that I don't have NaNo on my mind the whole time.

If it's on a Saturday - especially that particular Saturday - I would not be able to attend anything in the morning. Mid afternoon would be nice, around 3 or so? We should also probably keep in mind the possibility of rain. 99 Bottles works so long as they don't have an age restriction - I'm pretty sure I'm not the only under-21 Wrimo in Santa Cruz.

I would prefer not to do it at 99 Bottles. I don't eat meat, so there would be relatively little for me to eat there, and I'm underage so the alcohol is not a plus.

I'd be okay with a potluck, or meeting at a different eatery (last year was the Saturn). Saturday is fine for me.

The forecast for this weekend is awfully cold (lows in the mid-30s and highs in the mid-50s), so outdoor picnics or beach bbqs won't do. Therefore Saturn Café it is in order to make it as accessible as possible both geographically and dietarily.

Saturn Café is on Laurel between Front and Pacific in downtown Santa Cruz, next to Kinko's. It's two blocks from the Metro Transit Center. For people Aptos and north, I will actually clean out my car (somewhat) and offer rides. I can take up to three passengers.

Saturn Café 4-6pm, Saturday December 1st.
