Life has been interfering ~darnitall~

Finally tonight I manged to bang on the keyboard until my word count reached 25K. Yay!!!!

The excitement was short-lived when I realized I am now 10K behind on the daily word count goal.

Oh well, back to the keyboard. It may be time for a tornado or calamity to spice up the word count.

So how are ya'll doing???

Hey Hula--I stayed up long enough to break 20k just barely--I try not to think of how far behind I am. Bleh! I was writing in such a daze that I forgot I was in the middle of a flashback in the story and had to go back like 15 pages to read where I was in my own story. Writing a novel is perhaps the weirdest thing I have ever done.

Happy Thanksgiving guys! Eat well, love much, and laugh often--or something like that :)

Not quite as well as you. But I've spent all of today writing. And I'll spend all of tomorrow writing, except for Thanksgiving dinner, and all of Friday. Saturday, obviously, is the Iron Bowl, and even NaNo has to be put on hold, so I'll probably only get in a thousand or so words, but Sunday I shall make up for it with a vengeance.

Congrats on the halfway point, though. I will catch up! I will do it! I am determined.

Hey, half-way wrimos! Congrats to all of you! Twenty-something thousand words is a &@%$-ing lot to have written! No easy task. That is a seriously major accomplishment and I'm really happy for y'all.

Hula, I recommend tornadoes and calamities highly. My first NaNo-novel began with a tornado destroying most of a small town. Then the whole rest of my novel was one solid calamity. I don't even remember what all happened, but it was tremendous fun to write. You really can get a LOT of words out of a tornado and its aftermath.

Holly, lol, welcome to the experience of writing lengthy works of fiction! That happens to me all the time. That's why I really love using RoughDraft for writing fiction. (Screenshots here if you're not familiar with it.) I put notes to myself in the side panel if I write something that's pretty important and I sense that it's the sort of detail I might forget later. It's especially helpful when I go off on a tangent, since I've found that sometimes you can get almost a whole novel out of a tangent.

Nardaviel, I am having a really good feeling about your success on this. You have that NaNo attitude down. Congrats on the progress you've made already. *reads excerpt* And congrats on having buckets of talent! I am suspicious of the Erdamant. Was that a coup? Which side is the Speaker on? And where is Lanstom taking Emorel?!? Please tell me Emorel is going to save Methvenna from the Erdamant.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I hope you all have a great day.

I am grateful for many things, but right now this moment, I am especially grateful for what NaNo has brought into my life.

=] Thank you so much! That made me feel warm and fuzzy, which is useful because my feet are kind of cold. I'm about to take my laptop somewhere with no wireless so I'll no longer be distracted, 'cause I've only written about four and a half thousand words today. If I want to catch up by Friday I need to write four thousand more, plus an extra thousand to make up for the thousand I didn't write yesterday.

Yes, it was definitely a coup, but Emorel's not going to be Methvenna's savior. He ends up liking the Erdamant more than the royal family, so he doesn't really care. x_x
