Has anyone started the first kiss thread this year yet? I can't find one... but then again I didn't try too hard. SOO.... here is my first kiss:

" “Enjoying yourself, master?” she growled into my ear. It was quite intimidating to be honest.
“Yes my lady,” I answered. “But we aren’t quite done yet.”
She looked at me and for an instant all of her hardened masks fell away, showing her true confusion. I wrapped one arm around her waist and pulled her close. I could feel her breaths coming short and fast, her heart beating wildly in her chest.
“What are you-“ She was cut off as I pressed my mouth against hers.
Her lips had a soft, lemony vanilla taste to them.
For a second I thought she was going to start kissing me back, as she froze up against me.
I was deeply mistaken.
In the next instant I felt and heard a sharp slap across my cheek, followed immediately by a backhanded smack to the other cheek.
“DON’T YOU EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN YOU SICK, TWISTED…. MALE!!!!” She furiously wiped at her lips and started charging out of the bar.
“Talk to you later, toots,” I called after her and smiled to myself. Remembering my Bloody Mary that I never drank, I walked back to the bar to find the bartender standing there.
“There is no way she is your girlfriend,” he said, shaking his head and smiling and pouring me a fresh virgin drink. He topped it off with a stem of celery and handed it to me.
“No,” I said in an almost wistful tone.
“That looked – and sounded – like it hurt, for a girl,” he added.
“She packs more of a punch than she looks like,” I agreed. “But it was a small price to pay.” "

Yes... that's my first kiss. About thirty thousand words later they have thier second kiss, and I'd like to think of their second as their first, so here's their second as well:

"Eventually we stood up and walked to the front of the building, having been kicked out of the rink at closing. The moon was bright overhead and we held each other to keep the cold of the winter’s night off. We found ourselves simply standing at my car, holding each other softly in our arms and breathing the night in.
Carefully, I pulled away ever so slightly, gathering my courage as I went. I looked into her eyes, once again lost by their beauty and struggled to concentrate. A rush of nervousness and fear coursed through my veins.
I gently placed my lips on top of hers in a kiss that was different from the one we had shared before. This one was not for show, but rather was almost like a question. I was asking, hoping, pleading that maybe she felt as I did, and in that small act of touching her lips with mine, I felt as if I had my answer.
She froze momentarily, nearly making me pull away. Just as I was about to do so, though, I felt her relax against me, offering up a kiss of her own to my waiting lips. The points of contact between her and I tingled ever so slightly, and a feeling of weightlessness flowed through my veins and the kiss warmed me from the inside out, making me immune to the chill air around me. Gently I raised the hand that wasn’t resting on the side of her face to her other soft cheek, tilting my head slightly as I tenderly kissed her again. Slowly I backed off, looking deeply into her eyes and searching for an answer to my question.
“I love you, Evan,” I whispered softly, hoping for an answer. I got just that as I felt her hand move from my shoulder to the back of my neck and gently pull me back in for another kiss. I couldn’t help but smile into the kiss and my eyes were closed out of impulse.
I had never experienced a kiss such as that before. Her lips gently and affectionately danced with mine, her fingers trailing through my hair and over my spine, the other arm draped across the back of my neck. I kissed first her top lip, soon followed by her bottom as she returned my kiss in the opposite way, kissing my upper lip first and then continued to gently hold my bottom lip between hers.
Throughout the kiss I felt as if I were walking on the cloud of a dream, waiting for the moment when my alarm would go off and I would find myself once again in the world lacking Evan. I didn’t think about much, lost in the feeling of soft lips on mine as we uttered words of affection silently through the easy, natural movement of our lips. In fact, I don’t remember thinking about anything at all, completely and totally drowning at Evan’s touch in a happy, pleasant, and blissful way.
Soon enough, though, I pulled back slowly, breaking the kiss with reluctance.
“What are you doing?” She asked with a playful smile dancing on her lips. “I wasn’t done kissing you yet.”
I was all too happy to oblige.
The snow around us mattered next to nothing as our lips were locked, welding us together. Her gentleness was soothing and my mind soared on the sensation of kissing and being kissed in return. The roots of my hair tingled as she brushed her fingers through them. Her small body against mine warmed me deeper than anything ever had before, and the heart that seemed to have stopped beating the moment they had laid Sarah’s coffin in the ground was once again alive.
In that instant, my heart was resurrected and I was once again breathing, breathing for the first time in only heaven knows how long."

The end. ^_^

Mine is my very last line:

For the first time in ten years, they kissed.

That's it. In my first NaNo (also a romance) I stretched the first kiss into a whole chapter (for a laugh). I thought I'd go the other way this time.

I think therefore I am pretentious.

Okay, here's mine. It's kind of long, but that's because it's mostly setup. Enjoy. ^_^

“Do I make you that uncomfortable Miss Blake?” Julian’s voice suddenly cut through the silence.

“Certainly not,” she said, raising her chin and refusing to look at him.

“You know, I like you much better when you tell the truth. Lying just doesn’t become you.”

Samantha’s gaze involuntarily moved toward Julian again. She found him watching her curiously, waiting to see how she would reply. But she couldn’t reply. She didn’t have the words to. What was it about Julian White that so often rendered her speechless?

When she didn’t answer and didn’t turn away, Julian’s eyes slowly began to move lower down her face. He looked from her eyes, and then to her lips, and then lower. There was nothing cold about his gaze this time, and rather than feeling a chill run down her spine, all Samantha felt was a new wave of heat coursing through her body.

When Julian’s eyes finally found hers again, there was a definite look of satisfaction on his face. “Perhaps I do make you uncomfortable, in many ways.”

Samantha felt her skin flush and wanted more than anything to turn away from him, but she couldn’t.
She saw his eyes trail to her mouth, and then his tongue darted out to moisten his lips, and Samantha felt her heart leap in her chest. He didn’t seriously intend to . . . to try to kiss her, did he?

Her breath was coming far too rapidly, and she wished beyond anything that she could just bring herself under control, but she was as helpless as ever when faced with Julian’s unearthly magnetism.

She watched silently, as he got up from his seat on the other side of the carriage, and lowered himself down onto the space next to her. She knew now that he was serious, that he did intend to try and kiss her.

Samantha held her breath as he leaned in close. Her eyes fluttered shut of their own accord, and the only sound she could hear was the muffled cadence of her heart thrumming in her ears.

She waited. And waited.

Finally, when she was just about to open her eyes again, she felt his lips brush softly against hers. Samantha was shocked by the warmth and tenderness of his lips. She tried to lean into him, but he pulled away, and a moment later, she opened her eyes to find him sitting on the other bench as if nothing had ever happened.

Julian was now watching out the window, and Samantha was staring at him with shock and thinly veiled disappointment. She had never been kissed before. Not in all her twenty-five years. Her body was still shaking from the contact, her mind still whirling, but Julian seemed completely unfazed.

They sat like that for another five minutes, before Dawn came bounding back into the carriage. She couldn’t thank Samantha enough for allowing her some alone time with Georgie, and she was so wrapped up in her own happiness, that she never even noticed the tension between Samantha and Julian. Dawn just sat back in her seat and chattered merrily about her glorious day with her equally glorious fiancé.

Samantha didn’t even try to make sense of what her sister was saying. Instead, she spent the rest of the ride home, trying to make sense of Julian White.

Mine's kind of long winded, but it's gooood. The funny thing is, this is page 69 in Word. XD

---

I felt slightly silly dancing for Christophe, as though it were something that shouldn’t be allowed. He’d pulled me closer at some point during the song, so I was feeling very exhilarated and apprehensive, curious as to what he would do next. He pushed a strand of my hair behind my ear, smiling at me softly.

I squirmed inside. This wasn’t what I was expecting. I didn’t want this to happen. I wanted to argue. I’d spent all day avoiding him, so this turn of events wasn’t really the best thing that had happened.

I wrenched myself away and pulled a headphone out, stopping my music. I dropped my face into my hands and took a few seconds where I just thought. What if I let this happen? What if I let him carry on . . . What would happen if I let him carry on?
Ugh, I thought, stamping my foot. Christophe’s presence had opened up a load of new thoughts that I would never have dreamed of thinking before, and it was all so different and new and odd and I didn’t know what to think.

I brushed past him and grabbed my coat which I’d slung over a chair, heading for the door.

“What? You’re just going to leave? After what just happened?”

I turned as he spoke.

“Yes.” I said simply.

“Why?”

“Because you make me feel strange. You make me feel things I didn’t think I could feel, just by looking at you. I don’t want to feel these things about you; I can’t make myself accept the fact that there’s no changing them. Right now, I’m feeling scared, and anxious, but I’m also feeling excited and exhilarated at the same time. I can’t deal with it! I don’t want to have to deal with it.”

“How is that my fault?”

I groaned and turned in a circle, exasperated by his density. “I’ve fallen in love with you!” I screamed at him. “And do you know how hard that is for me to admit? I’ve realised that over the past few weeks, things have been changing between us. I’m not just talking about all the extra arguments; I’m on about all the tension, and the odd looks and . . . everything.”

Christophe looked at me in surprise. Clearly, he hadn’t seen that one coming.

Giving another exasperated groan, I grabbed my bag and stormed out of the room, running as fast as I could.

“Poppy, wait!”

I didn’t. I kept running, deciding that instead of the elevator, I’d use the stairs. It was partly due to the fact that it was on the eighth floor, and partly because Christophe could corner me in it. Running up the stairs as quickly as I could, I chanced a look behind me.

“Poppy!”

Christophe was pushing his way through maids and concierges, ignoring their shouts of frustration. He actually knocked someone over, and not pausing to help her, carried on chasing me.

I decided that I’d lingered long enough and carried on climbing, ignoring his shouts and my legs screaming at me to slow down. Eventually reaching floor five, I pulled the door open and ran down the hallway, pushing past people in my urgency to get to my door before Christophe found me. As I got to my door, I almost swore as I remembered that I’d left my key inside. Hammering on the door, I almost had a hissy fit when I had no answer.

“POPPY!”

I looked to my left and saw Christophe pushing his way through two elderly people. I squeaked and started running again, this time not listening to my brain, but rather to my feet. They started propelling me towards the stairs at the other end of the corridor, and then downstairs. Almost falling flat on my face, I pulled my heels off and padded down the stairs as quickly as I could.

“POPPY! STOP! I need to talk to you!” Christophe shouted from above me. I looked up – I was already on the second floor – and saw Christophe leaning over the fourth floor banister. I swore quietly, and ran out of the second floor stairwell. Desperately pushing the button for the elevator, I saw that it was on the fourth floor.

Damn. Can’t use that then.

I quickly ran back into the stairwell, and crashed into Christophe. He quickly wrapped his arms around me and picked me up, making sure that I wouldn’t get away.

“Put me dow-” I started to say, before I felt someone else’s lips crashing down on mine.

Christophe’s.

Christophe was kissing me.

Before I could comprehend what was happening, he’d put me down and was looking at me, out of breath.
“There,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “That shows you that I’ve been feeling exactly the same way.”
A small smile forced its way onto my face, and I tried to squash the urge to giggle. My efforts were fruitless, and I started giggling like a loon, having a giggle fit. I jumped up and hugged him, instantly feeling lighter.

Christophe smiled back at me and kissed me again, almost lifting me off my feet. He picked me up and carried me back up the stairs, with me giggling my head off all the way. He backed into his room and deposited me on his bed, and then he turned back to close his door. He pulled his shirt off whilst maintaining eye contact with me. I bit my lip and tried not to giggle again.

I love 'em. :D

My hero and heroine are next-door neighbors. Cat is nervous for several well-warranted reasons and John is most definitely not what he seems.

And John gave into his impulse and cautiously touched his hand to Cat’s, lacing his fingers into hers delicately enough to keep her from bolting and yet leave her the freedom to pull away. A shiver ran over her, but she closed her hand on his, not a pause in their stride. An astounding surge of triumph filled him at this small but marvelous accomplishment. Their quiet six-block walk home along the tree-lined streets was the most pleasant time he could recall in far too long. The mild evening air held the lingering sunset glow. Her slim hand, cool and soft, warmed in his.

Then, too soon for John, they reached their driveways. With the refuge of her house only a few yards off, Cat was ready to bolt again. He let her slide her hand from his. He would be satisfied with his little victory. He could be patient. He’d learned the meaning of patience well over his many lifetimes. Many little victories could win a war as surely as one major battle might.

Cat jammed her hands into her jacket pockets. “Good night. Thank you for the pizza,” she said softly, not quite meeting his eyes and a rosy flush blooming on her cheeks.

“My pleasure.”

Then to his great surprise and pleasure, Cat raised up on her toes and touched a fleeting kiss to his jaw. “Thanks– see you, later– tomorrow.” A flash of her shy smile, and just as quickly she was away.

She'd kissed him. First. A grin broke over his face. Sometimes life was damn good.

My characters have several 'first kisses'.

The first, first kiss:

The sound of the rain drifted away and he sank deeper into the mattress, his body heavy and warm. He opened his eyes and got up as Ishaan sauntered into the room, wearing just his black briefs, his body glistening with drops of rain. Roan reached out, running his hands over Ishaan's skin, collecting the drops of water on his palms. He drew his hands back, twin mirrored pools reflecting Ishaan's face back at him.

"Roan," Ishaan said, his voice echoing up out of the mirrors. He stepped closer and Roan watched the mirrors fall from his hands and shatter on the floor, blood oozing out of the broken pieces. He looked back up at Ishaan. "Roan," Ishaan said again, reaching out to place his hand on Roan's shoulder. Roan leaned toward him, their lips brushing, warm, soft--

"Hey!" Roan jumped awake, blinking hard as his blurred vision snapped back into focus. Looming over him was Ishaan, red-faced and angry looking.

"What--What happened?" Roan asked, looking around. "Ishaan, what--"

"You kissed me," Ishaan growled between his teeth. Roan's eyes widened. The rain, the mirrors. He glanced around. No, it was a dream. How could Ishaan know what he'd been dreaming? Unless ...

"You mean, kissed you, really?"

"Yes, really," Ishaan snapped. "I came in to wake you up, said your name, gave you a shake, and you sat up and kissed me on the mouth." He seemed to realize that he was still leaned over the bed and straightened up. Roan ran his hands back through his hair, his heart pounding as he searched for an explanation that wouldn't get him shot.

And the second, first kiss:

"Roan?" Ishaan asked.

Roan licked his dry lips. "Yeah," he said. For several moments no one said or did anything, then Ishaan's dark figure lunged across the room and shoved Roan back against the door. For a split second, panic, swift and choking, rose up in his chest. Ishaan was going to kill him. Roan raised his hands to push him away, but Ishaan caught his wrists and pinned them to the door above his head. A single, startled cry escaped his lips, and then Ishaan covered Roan's mouth with his own in a hard, breathless, bruising kiss.

Surprised, Roan couldn't move as Ishaan's tongue slipped into his mouth, exploring him, claiming him. This was wrong. Something about this was wrong. Then Ishaan's lean, strong body pressed against him, his erection evident through his thin cotton pajamas, rubbing against the aching bulge in the front of Roan's pants. Roan kissed back, body arching away from the door as he sought contact. Ishaan let go of Roan's wrists and began to pull at his clothes, shoving his T-shirt up, fumbling with the button on his jeans.

There'll be a third, first kiss, one where they're both awake and really mean it, but I haven't written that one yet.

This is the first kiss in a couple of ways; the first kiss in the story, and my FMC's first kiss. It's kind of my MMC's first kiss also, since his technical "first kiss" was because of a dare at a party. I guess it's also what I'd like my first kiss to be like (if I ever get one, ha ha). *crosses fingers*

Nicole smiled shyly at Will. She saw him in a whole new light now. He gazed back at her for a moment, then smiled back. She felt herself blushing, and looked away towards the pond. As she watched the snow fall softly in the trees, she felt Will’s hand close over hers. She turned back toward him, butterflies dancing in her stomach.
There was a twinkle in Will’s hazel eyes. Nicole had never noticed, except for maybe on the day she had met him, how cute he actually was. Her heart did a nervous back flip as he leaned forward slightly. He gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, sending shivers down her spine, and then leaned even farther forward.
Nicole’s eyes fell shut, and their lips met in a tentative yet absolutely perfect kiss. And as they kissed, one equally perfect snowflake fell on their entwined fingers.

Aww, so cute! <3

This was my MMC and MFC's first kiss with each other . .. and my MFC's first kiss ever . . though it's not in reality, but a dream world/ alternate reality:

“I had a lovely time as well, Leon, and I also wish we didn’t have to part ways now. I’m sorry that we do, very much so,” Ruya said quietly. She then felt her eyes getting glassy with tears and beginning to flow, and turned her face away from his.

Impulsively, Leon turned her face back toward his gently, and wiped away the tears that had begun to escape from her lovely greenish . . . emerald like eyes. “Don’t be sad my dear, let this time be a happy memory for you,” he said so softly that she barely heard him . . . for it wasn’t more than a whisper.

He then leaned in to kiss her cheek, and afterward found his way to her lips . . only barely touching them, with a feathery lightness, but enough for her to meet him halfway. She leaned in and returned his kiss passionately, but tenderly, and a few tears still graced her face and brushed onto his face too, though he didn’t mind it. They wrapped their arms around each other, and stood kissing for only a few brief moments. Yet these were moments that could have extended to an eternity, for they felt as if they had kissed forever and back again, and yet barely at all at the same time. If only this could go on forever, if only it could they would stay like this for the rest of time, and back again . . . an eternity together.

Here's my first kiss... nothing really exciting. I saved all the good description for the sex scene lol.
--
He nodded, then moved a step closer. Then he took another step until they were face to face. “I was thinkin' maybe tomorrow night I could take you out to dinner.”

“That... sounds good,” Angie said, unable to think beyond the idea of him kissing her.

“But until then,” he trailed off, and placed his lips on hers.

It was a brief kiss. They were both conscious of Sarah and Jimmy in the next room. Still, Angie felt her hands tingle as she bought them up to rest on his chest, feeling his muscles underneath his shirt that she had previously only speculated on. He drew away then, before she could fall even deeper into the kiss, and Angie felt like he had branded her lips with his.

here's mine:

I touched down on the ground lightly, with that adenaline pumped feeling of accomplishment back in my feet. Rannok landed next to me and we waited. He'd be going in to 'rescue' the others soon, and then I'd be going in for backup if and when I thought they needed it. But he was being oddly silent, and my stomach was clenched into a fearful knot.
"Wren," he said. I turned. "Wren, if anything goes wrong, get yourself out."
"But what if..." I couldn't say the rest because I didn't even want to think it.
"I don't care. I taught you to fly for a reason."
"I swear to god Rannok, if you get yourself k-"
He grabbed my shoulders and pulled me in towards him. Before I even knew what was happening, he was kissing me, and the knot in my stomach untied and reorganized itself completely until it blocked out everything but him. My head was swimming, and I stared at him for a second before something clicked, or unclicked maybe and I was kissing him back. He released me and held me in his arms. I could feel the tears starting to come. I was already scared and panicky and overemotional and he wasn't helping, damn it because hwat if he died or I died or something went wrong or-
"Please," he begged. "Don't get yourself hurt."
I was full on sobbing now and I didn't know why exactly other than now my lips were tingling and I didn't wnat him to go out there where he could get hurt, but I knew he had to because of Griffon and Armand.
He kissed me again gently through my tears and flew off, leaving me there, dumbstruck.

Here's mine XD

About ten minutes later, Kain decided that he would be best to follow Neil’s lead. After all, no one was really paying any attention to him, and if he wanted to just angst over Alex he could do that well enough at home. He approached Alex, who was talking to Bart and swigging a cup of beer, and tapped him on the shoulder. Alex turned around, and Kain stammered out that he was going to leave.

“Let me walk you out,” Alex said to Kain. “Make sure no one tears anything down, Bart.”

The two walked upstairs and then out the door to Alex’s yard. Kain began to walk towards the gate, but Alex exclaimed, “Kain! Wait!”

Kain turned around and stared at him. Alex quickly looked around and, noticing that no one was in eyesight of him, continued, “Hey, Kain, can I ask you a question?” Kain nodded. “Feel free to kick my ass if I’m wrong, but… Do you have a… A thing for me?”

Kain’s heart froze. This was the hour of reckoning. Somehow, he couldn’t bring himself to lie. “…Yes,” he said quietly, standing and closing his eyes, hoping that Alex would not react with hate.

To his amazement, he felt Alex put one hand on either of his shoulders. His eyes flipped open and Alex was staring at him, transfixed. “I have a thing for you, too,” Alex said in his ear. He felt Alex’s lips press against his as he froze in shock, closing his eyes yet again.

Kain managed to kiss back, and lost himself in the moment. It was like kissing a waterfall. Alex was gentle but obviously eager, and Kain struggled to keep up with him. So this is a kiss, Kain thought as his heart fluttered.

A moment later, Alex broke the kiss and allowed his navy blue eyes to stare into Kain’s aqua blue ones. Alex looked at Kain, and gave him a small, reassuring smile. Kain smiled back, blushed American-flag red and struggled to stay standing up.

“Stay safe, Kain,” Alex said, touching him on the shoulder again. Kain nodded, and turned, continuing his walk out the gate, towards his street. Alex watched him walk for a moment, then made his way back inside his house, to the party.

Not from NanoWriMo, but I thought you might all appreciate it nonetheless...I posted it on last year's topic as well. It's not quite a kiss, actually.

Sorry it's so long...I thought the lead in was necessary.
They're watching a scary movie and Daphne's boyfriend is sitting in the other room.

Quote:

I went into the kitchen, shivering as a breeze from the open window hit me. In front of me was Sevin, hunched over the counter with his back to me and breathing hard like he’d just run a sprint. Next to his right hand was a bottle of Kahlua, which he picked up slowly and tipped into his half-full cup. He put down the bottle, picked up the glass and gulped down almost all of it. He put it back on the counter and turned around, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand as he did so.

“Daphne!” he said, sounding startled. But he was careful not to say it too loudly. Not that it would have mattered, what with all the screaming that was coming from the TV.

Once the shock of finding me standing there had subsided, Sevin’s eyes had a distinctively plaintive look about them. He looked at me wearily as I stepped toward him, mostly to avoid being in the direct draft of the window.

“You were right about the movie,” I said quietly, leaning against the counter next to him. “Not very good. At least Cary Grant is classy.” I smirked at my joke but Sevin didn’t crack a smile. He continued to stare at me with that same oddly blank look I’d seen before in the living room. Now that expression was staring me full in the face and I realized he looked more stricken than anything.

I looked down at my crossed arms and my feet in their adorable white ballet flats. I stiffened when I felt Sevin move. He was now standing so that I was between him and the counter. His hands came to rest on the stone tile on either side of me, effectively trapping me there.

My arms dropped and I slowly raised my eyes to meet Sevin’s, but realized he wasn’t looking at my eyes, but rather at a different part of my face. I blushed deeply when I realized he was looking at my lips, and that we were very, very close. Too close.

Despite the fact that the kitchen window was open and that I’d been shivering not a minute before, I suddenly felt very warm. And I tingled, like my whole body had shut down and was just now waking up. My arms were now hanging limply at my sides, but Sevin’s hands crept off the stone counter and hesitated next to my waist.

“Sevin…” I whispered, barely forming the name at all between trembling lips. I didn’t know what I was saying his name for, whether to stop him or…But my mind had gone suddenly, blissfully blank as Sevin drew closer.

His eyes were half-closed now, and his hands spread gently on my waist. I inhaled deeply, almost involuntarily, and could both taste and smell the scent of Kahlua and chocolate. I felt his thumbs press into my sides, just below my ribcage, and my back was pushed firmly against the edge of the counter. I closed my eyes, inhaling again as Sevin’s lips skated over my own, his breath warming my mouth but his lips not yet touching mine.

Warmth blossomed within every inch of my body and my heart seemed to drop deeply into my stomach, beating where Sevin’s hands were hot against my waist. The width of a hair closer and our lips would be touching.

“Hey, so Flo asked me to—” a loud, raucous voice said suddenly. It was a voice that didn’t belong there, not in that moment of time, and it reached my ears like a distant ring, something I might’ve heard, might’ve not.

But apparently Sevin heard it more sharply and understood it more clearly than I, for he jumped away from me quickly and, judging by the sound that followed, slammed his arm into the counter beside me. He was no longer touching any part of me and I felt the breeze chill me at his absence.

I opened my eyes willfully and saw Zander standing in the doorway, smiling easily like nothing at all had happened. Part of me very dearly wanted to dropkick Zander into the next room, push Sevin up against the counter and kiss him as hard and for as long as I damn well pleased.

The first kiss in the story (not my NaNo):

Quote:
Satu finished off the last of her meal—a rabbit that Makur had managed to catch—licking her fingers clean of any excess meat left behind. Averil shot her a glance, but if the mage thought anything about her eating habits, he didn’t say anything. Makur had finished long ago and was now watching her with a look that Satu found slightly unnerving. She had never seen Makur watching her so intently before, and for some reason, she couldn’t help but turn a bright pink. She never did do well under the public eye. Once she had fully finished off with her meal, Makur turned to her.

“Satu, can we talk?” he asked, with a side glance at Averil, “Alone?”

“Sure,” said Satu, getting to her feet and wiping her hands on the fabric of her pants. She glanced at Averil, who nodded and fished a spellbook out of his bag, beginning to read by the light of the fire. The dark-haired thief stood up as well, heading into a nearby clearing and motioning for her to follow. She did, walking nimbly around the trees and entering the clearing as well. At last, she was going to find out what was on Makur’s mind.

It was a beautiful night. Not a cloud hung in the sky over them, allowing anybody who cared to glance upward to see the vast number of stars that scattered throughout the night sky. The moonlight shone on the clearing, coming from a moon that, although not full, was well on its way to getting there. Several crickets sounded from the nearby trees, along with the sounds of several other night animals.

“What is it?” she asked.

Makur shuffled his foot in a nervous manner, rubbing the back of his neck slightly. Satu frowned. Makur was nervous?!? The only time he was ever nervous was when he was about to give her rather unpleasant news. Had something happened to the gang in Azimor?

“Look, Sat,” he began, when he finally spoke, “You got us all worried, you know that?”

He looked up at Satu, the glare that had been present practically the whole day now gone from his blue eyes replaced instead with a look of care and concern. Satu’s eyes softened as well, seeing on his face what he only implied in his message. He had been worried about her.

“You were worried…about me?” she asked half-jokingly, laughing slightly at this. Makur frowned, turning to her.

“It’s not funny, Satu,” he said, “We thought you got jailed. We were…I was worried about you.”

Satu couldn’t help but shake her head slightly at her friend’s words. She knew how to take care of herself. She had proved it time and time again. She took a step forward, placing a hand on Makur’s shoulder.

“Hey, you didn’t have to worry,” she said, “You know I can take care of myself, or do I have to prove it to you again?”

Makur sighed, raising a hand and placing it on top of her own, giving her hand a slight squeeze as he did. For some reason, the gesture sent Satu’s heart beating faster as a flush spread over her cheeks. Makur’s eyes met hers, and she saw the uncertain emotion behind them again, masking something deeper—something more powerful.

“Satu, listen for a sec,” said Makur, “When I thought you were gone, I…”

Makur paused, not continuing with what he was saying. Sadness clouded over his eyes, and Satu couldn’t help but feel her heart ache. Makur would never admit weakness to her, but she didn’t need to. She had known him long enough to know when he felt down. To think that he had been grieved when he thought she was gone…she didn’t quite know what to say to that.

“I…realized some things that I wished I could say to you—some things I should have gotten around to doing a long time ago.”

“It’s…it’s not like I’m dead, Makur,” said Satu, “Whatever it is you want to say, you can say it now.”

“Satu, I…” began Makur, before trailing off again. His other hand came up around her back, pulling her closer into an embrace. Satu flushed a bright red, unable to move. She wasn’t sure what to do, nor was she aware of what was currently happening. Her heart beat accelerated even further as all the blood rushed to her face. She felt like she was dreaming—and a part of her hoped to never wake up. Makur released her hand, stroking her golden hair gently. He took in a deep breath, before speaking again.

Makur pulled away, looking straight at her. Satu’s heart began beating even faster now as she watched him. They were so close…closer than she had ever seen him before. The uncertain emotion in his eyes was gone, allowing whatever had been hiding behind it to come to the surface. Satu’s breath caught in her throat as his eyes met hers, looking at her tenderly…lovingly. A soft wind blew through the clearing, blowing a few strands of his black hair over his face as the moonlight played over his features. And then, he was leaning closer to her, his eyelids drooping closed as he neared. Her heart beat so fast that she thought it was going to escape from her chest as he moved closer to her. Their lips were only millimeters apart when he stopped.

“I love you, Satu,” he said in a low whisper, his breath fanning across her lips and making her heart skip a beat. Makur closed the gap between them, lowering his lips to hers. Electricity coursed through Satu’s body at the contact, and she stood there for a moment, frozen to the spot. Then, slowly but surely, her brown eyes began to drift shut.

She barely noticed the twig snapping in the nearby bushes and footsteps making their way back to camp.

Yeah, that's it. And yes, it's fantasy ^__^. Yes, they were seen by the other guy in the beginning, and yes, the other guy has feelings for the girl, but he won't admit it to himself yet.

The first guy. He's my MC, I couldn't leave him without a happy ending. But it will be a long and tiring journey until they get to that point. First...they have to save the world! Okay, wait, a city...they have to save a city.

And by the first guy, you mean Averil? Or Makur? ... I just want to get it straight in my head, not that I know these characters or will necessarily ever know more, but it sounds very interesting and I'd hate to be imagining you FC with the wrong MC :) Saving a city is still excellent, even if it isn't the whole world.

Averil, but Makur's important to the story as well.

The villain plans to start with the city, and then work his way up, so in effect they are sort of saving the world. But the villain's probably the worst kind out there--he THINKS he's doing the right thing. He thinks the city (and the world in general) is corrupt and rotten, and he wants to initiate change, but first he's going to kill off everyone in his path and use their souls as materials for the spell he's going to need to bring his loved one back. (Er...yeah, he's twisted.)

Also, if you want to read it, just drop me a NaNoMail ^__^

Here's mine!

“Have we ever kissed?” He wondered. She jumped, his question startled her. “Sorry,” he said.

“No, it’s okay. Um, no… b – but I think we sh-should,” she whispered, turning to face him. His arms stayed around her waist as she stared up at him. His hazel eyes looked down at her, his gaze dark and intense. Her face became heated and a flush covered her body. She was suddenly nervous about kissing him; it would be her first kiss, after all. Swiftly, his face lowered towards hers. She squirmed in his grasp, overcome with nervousness. She could feel his hands moving upwards to cup her face. Her body involuntarily shivered when he touched her. His hands felt like fire on her neck. She shut her eyes and tipped her face upward until she could feel his soft breath in her mouth. Finally, their lips touched and bolt of electricity shot through her. It was a simple kiss, their lips just brushed over each other several times, nothing too extravagant until she felt his lips start to move over her neck. Like a rag doll she let her head hang back as he covered her neck and the base of her throat with tiny kisses. Jake pulled back and looked at her, breathing heavily.

“How was that for a first kiss?” He asked her, smiling down at her. She looked up at him, eyes half-closed in bliss. She was almost panting at the fire that currently raging through her body.

“Perfect,” she told him, quietly.

I couldnt help myself but add mine to here :D
I have 2...both are from my NaNo this year (too lazy to go looking through my romance one..) It was a sci-fi, but hey, a girls gotta have a little romance here and there, right? There are 2 because it is two romances at once (so 4 characters).

Anyhow, here we go. I hope you like em, any constructive criticism is warmly welcomed. *Ps: my grammer is horrendus and i havent edited, so there may be a few typos, i apologise in advance :D*

Happiness flowed through his veins, he allowed himself to begin to sprint, running towards to voice. He could make out her shape, she was trudging in his direction, her hair was covered in snow. He did not stop when he could see her in clear view, and took her into his arms when they met, pulling her close to him and not letting go. “I was so worried about you.” He said, his voice quaking. “Hannah…”
She did not reply, only clung to him tighter. He did not know how long they stood, shivering in the cold, snow whirling around him, but he did not care. He wanted nothing but to hold her, to show her he cared. And oh, how he cared. He shook his head slightly; he’d have never cared this much before the Flood. He liked to take it slow, he was cautious, and now he found himself plunging headlong down a slippery slope, caring so much he did not care at all what awaited him at the bottom. In times of crisis, we make every second count; every minute spent together is filled with month’s worth of conversation, everything we learn about someone, we cherish as though it were solid gold. At last he pulled away, brushing her hair with his fingers he let his hand drift back behind her ear to her neck, his other hand cupped her chin, before he realised it their faces were centimetre apart, then their mouths had met. He did not know how long it lasted, and he did not want to know, for in that moment the world around him erupted. Suddenly the snow had gone and the buildings were as they once stood. Cars lined the street as people went about running errands. People would smile at once another as they once had, offering kind greetings, that were met with a nod or a smile. A teenager walked their dog along the sidewalk, listening to music so loud it could be heard across the street. He was transported, back to a world without fears, with worries, but not real ones…and he went there with her. Colours seemed to stand out much more to him, scents all the more pleasant with each breath. Every taste was heaven and every sound made him want to dance. And he danced. He danced as he should have every day, happy to simply be alive, to be alive. Alive. Had he ever known what that meant?
When the kiss did end, they regarded each other, each one trying to decipher what the other was thinking, each wishing that it hadn’t ended. Theo moved to take her hand, unwilling to let her go again. “Come on,” he said, “its cold out.” And though he shivered, he was warmer than he had ever been.

And 2nd First kiss:
She looked at him sadly, “You know that isn’t true.” She said, “I can’t ignore this, Captain, no matter how much I want to.” She let her hand trace the stubble on his chin, up to the cut on his lip from days before, to one of the fresh bruises below his eye and into his hair. How long it had gotten. He pulled her closed, and their faces were only inches away. She could feel his breath on her cheek as every pore seemed to open to even the slightest touch. She bowed her head slightly and closed her eyes, pushing herself away though her body cried for her not to, “Captain…” she whispered, her voice filled with doubt.
He shook his head, “Don’t talk.” He said, and again pulled her closer, this time their mouths met with the same intensity of their battles during the days past. For only a moment did she resist before allowing herself to sink into it. Unsure of exactly what it was that was happening she allowed him to take lead. He was gentle and easy on her, allowing her to follow at ease. His fingers combed her hair affectionately, encouraging her with their strength. The kiss ended abruptly as his fingers brushed one of her fresh bruises. She jumped back with a gasp, and he began to stutter apologetically. Devyn smiled and laughed at his frantic attempt to determine if she was alright, and soon he joined, and there they lay, laughing hysterically though both were bruised and hungry, tired and sore. Though neither knew what the future held, both looked forward to it with a certainty, that they would face it together.
And together, they could overcome anything.

Hope you enjoyed it, i did :D

this is mine, I have never written a romance so it might be a tad sketchy:

It wasn't raining, it wasn't snowing, it wasn't storming or anything significant like that. It was a normal day in Seattle, reality as usual with it's cold dismal twist shone with the bright friendly sun. Barnaby (hero's name) clung to her, and she laughed into his black shirt. They were alive, they had faced a mafia of angry dream mystics/Barnaby's angry father and his three older brothers. Then ventured to the Underworld, that was right under Vegas, to make sure that my soul would be returned. While there they faced Harpies, he had an allergic reaction to Cerberus, she defended him against some soul hungering ghouls, made a deal with Lord Death, Nayeli (heroine's name) gave dating advise to Hades for his wife Persephone, played chess with empusa and won, Hades wanted Nayeli to stay because she could be Persephone's chambermaid and Nayeli declined, Persephone gave Nayeli her cell number for when she was on the surface for spring and summer.

After all of that they were alive, the underworld and back again. Nayeli's phone buzzed on her pants pocket, the alarm telling them both they have to catch the plane so they can get back to school in Hawaii from Seattle. His ebony eyes jubilant for once and her eyes cheerful as usual. Moments passed between the two and Nayeli jumped up and grabbed his face in her hands and sighed,"In a time like this your gonna think, genius?", she slid of his glasses despite his protest,"Just kiss me Boogey.". All bark and no bite, as soon as she placed her lips on his all of her vigor melted away into nothingness. He cradled her head placing his pale scarred hands in her black hair, gently holding her in place. Her lips shook, her entire body shook as she locked her arms about his neck. Every song of sorrow, desperation, every ghost story, every scream he had caused, and every manic fear that he had created in the minds of children passed through her psyche as there lips found every nook of contact. She wanted to pull away from a fear that was building almost as intense as the psychotic butterflies in her stomach: but, no this is her man. He was hers and she was his: no matter what he was and he is the Boogey man, his sorrow her sorrow.

They reluctantly released when Barnaby's phone went of the first catchy lyrics of of a familiar Muse song slipping out before he answered it.

All of these sound sooo good!! I wanna read them all!! Okay, here's mine, it's kinda long and it's right off of the top of my head, so it might not be perfect...

Across the room, the two looked at each other, gazing deeply into the other's eyes. Slowly, Cole made his way across the room towards Kris. She saw what his intent was and fear sprang into her eyes. This couldn't happen, it was impossible. She fled the room and ran down the stairs, going so fast that she tripped and was falling so far down, so fast. Panic and anxiety made her heart beat twice as fast as before, adrenaline kicking in. As she watched the fast approaching ground, something grabbed her waist. When she looked up, all she could see were black wings of an angel. Cole. Kris tried to fight his grasp, trying to make him let her go, but he wouldn't. When they landed she would escape, she had to escape. He was evil, he was her captor. She, on the other hand, was good, and was the captured. She should hate him. But if so, why did heat flow through her body at what could happen between them? Why did she want it to happen? When, in all this time since he had kidnapped her, did she fall in love with him? Cole landed and gently set her down, his wings unfolded, making him seem surreal and unearthly. Kris turned to run but he caught her arm, tightening his grip as still, she tried to escape. He turned her around to face him and tilted her chin up so that Kris looked him in the eye. Slowly, he leaned forward, aiming for her lips. "Cole, we can't...it's impossible." I whispered, my breath coming in fast incriments.
"Impossible? Everyone said that kidnapping you would be impossible, but I did it. How is this any different?"
With tears falling down my face I said, "Because we can never be together. Because I don't want you."
Hurt and pain etched the features on his face. I knew I had done this to him, I didn't want to, but he left me no choice. Blindly, I walked away, and as I did, I felt a burst of wind that knocked to me the ground. Unconcious, I fell hard and barely...Now concious again, I looked around, my surroundings somewhat different than what I remembered from before. But Cole was here. That made it all better. 'What am I saying?!' Crap! Cole could read feelings and read thoughts. I know he just read mine. Before I realized what was happening, Cole was on top of me, hands placed on either side of where I was laying so as to make sure I couldn't escape. Strange though it seems, I didn't want to escape. I wanted this to happen. Cole inched forward, questioningly, making sure this is what I wanted. I watched as he moved closer still, my eyes fluttering closed out of impulse. Everything in the world around me became a blur, a figment of my imagination and all that was real was Cole and myself. Finally, his lips touched mine, heat erupting through my veins at the impact. He started to pull away, his hands moving lower on my body. I pulled him back, wanting more. Without hesitation, I felt under his shirt, my handing memorizing his chest, feeling where his muscles were. Without warning, Cole was called away to the demonic world. After he was gone, I thought about what I had felt, how I could have felt those feelings for someone so unlike me....etc.

Same couple as the one I posted above...but this is their ACTUAL first kiss, no interruptions.
By the way, the story is called Disney Gave Me Unrealistic Expectations About Love and you can find the whole thing at http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2299825/1/Disney_Gave_Me_Unrealistic_Expec....

Quote:
Sevin had whirled around at this point and took quick, forceful steps toward me. “You want to know why I said that stuff about you? You want to know why I tried to kiss you? Why nothing happened between me and Carla?”

As he said this, Sevin backed me up against the refrigerator door and our faces were, once again, just inches apart. His left arm was leaning against the door beside my face, bracing him as he leaned over me, and his other hand was on my waist, guiding me back until my back was pressed against the cool metal of the refrigerator. He was breathing hard, clearly summoning a lot of energy to keep his anger in check. My own heart was pounding, and I honestly couldn’t tell if I was frightened or thrilled.

“Tell me,” I said, echoing his earlier words. My voice was barely more than a whisper and my whole body was practically shaking.

Sevin brought himself to his full height, bracing both hands against the door and towering over me. I felt myself shrink under his hot gaze. And when he finally spoke, it was in a low, deliberate voice. “I like you. I like you, Daphne, and I made it so goddamn obvious and you—you ignored me and made out with Zander instead. Do you know how that made me feel? Like shit. So yeah, I said some stuff I probably shouldn’t have. I didn’t mean them. I did mean to kiss you. I can’t help it. I want to kiss you, Daphne, but I don’t think I could take it if you pushed me away again.”

As all of this tumbled out of his mouth, I just stared at him in total, frozen shock. He liked me? Was he serious? Part of me felt like this had to be some kind of terrible, humiliating joke. The other part of me was reliving memories of almost being kissed by Sevin, and fantasies where it actually happened.

And somehow, as I stood there, pinned between Sevin and his refrigerator as he spilled everything to me, this is the part of me that took over. I guess I was tired of Sevin always being a breath away, or I was curious what kissing him would be like, or I was totally and completely insane, but for whatever reason, I snapped.

There's one thing you can always count on in a Disney movie. And that is the kiss. It's as textbook as the Disney villain. This is the kiss that makes you grin and go 'squee!' and clutch the nearest pillow with all of your might as Pocohantus and John Smith or Ariel and Eric or Snow White and Prince Charming (or even Odette and Prince Derek) finally come together in one romantic, fantastic kiss.

If my life really was a Disney movie, this would be my pillow-clutching moment. One moment I was standing there, totally trapped by Sevin and the refrigerator and watching him struggle between being pissed at me and wanting to kiss me. The next moment, I was reaching up and threading my fingers through Sevin's hair, drawing his face close to mine. My other hand cupped the base of his neck, my fingers spread across his shoulder. I heard a hitch in Sevin’s breath before our lips collided, and I all but forgot everything else. His hand returned to my waist and then reached around to the base of my spine where he pushed me gently against him until every part of us was touching. The only reason we hadn’t toppled over was Sevin’s other hand steadying us against the refrigerator as our lips pushed and gently pulled against each other.

Every Disney story has one, and I had been waiting for mine. When it finally came, like this, (in his kitchen, our argument fresh in my mind, the fridge humming in my ear), I realized that the movies had nothing on a Real Disney Kiss.

I’m not going to lie. Finally being kissed by Sevin was nothing short of heavenly. Maybe it was because there were so many things that hinged on this moment: weeks of torment and denial (mine), misunderstandings (mine), utterly foolish decisions (also mine) that made Sevin’s kiss affect me the way it did. Which was make me go completely weak and oblivious to the rest of the world, focusing entirely on Sevin’s lips as they parted over mine. His hand, which felt warm and solid against the small of my back, sent tingles up my spine as it kept us firmly locked together.

It wasn’t a gentle or hesitant kiss in the least, but raw, almost desperate with the heated, angry emotions that had caused him to lash out in the first place. The heat between us was incredible, and it was overwhelming to think that thirty seconds ago, we’d been shouting at each other with all of our frustration and anger. Now, that frustration was still there, pouring out of Sevin and into this kiss.

Sevin wanted to be with me. He really liked me. If that confession didn’t prove it, this kiss certainly did.
