Eeep, it's scary to post a topic on such a small forum! ^_^;

The very instant Nano 07 finished - all right, the day after - I didn't begin editing. No. I started writing another fiction. @_@ Why? WHY? Why can't I just get on with my school work, or even finish the one I started?! Argh!

I thought I'd hit a winner with my novel because I liked writing it, but that boost of enjoyment is over. And I cannot be bothered. So I thought - 'I'll write something ELSE!' and I am. Unfortunately it was my idea for NaNo 08. But I've not set my own private NaNoWriMo - it's strictly for fun! ^_^ Let's see if I can finish by next November, even though I have no plot outlined whatsoever and I'm literally making it up as I go along.

Anyone else feel like this, or am I on my own? Haha! =P

you're definitely not the only one. once i lit a fire under my muse... well, he kept giving me stuff and if i don't write it down, i'll lose it, right?

right?? *sigh*

one of the things i'm working on is an inspired new angle for the NaNo novel i didn't finish last year, and of course i'm still working on the one i started a month ago because 50,000 words doesn't begin to cover it. but there are also a ton of other ideas i need (and want!) to start, and december is story-a-day month, and...

you're not alone. *grin*

I'm getting a laptop too! ^_^ Touch typing is so useful.

Hmm, yes... fiction writing is fun, but there's too much of it. *sad sigh*

Oh yeah, I'm there too. I still have two chapters of my NaNo not even started yet, and lots of work to do on what does exist. But as soon as I started thinking of an idea for next year's NaNo, the characters started lining up, eager to get started on their story. I couldn't say no. I've already got the general plot outline, and about half the characters' profiles.
And as for my Muse, even before the end of NaNo, she was bringing characters from yet another on-going story to see me, and I'm not sure how patient they're going to be if I go to work with yet another lot.
I'm going to be interested to see just how much I write before NaNoWriMo 2008 even rolls around!

I'm supposed to be writing a short story as a birthday present for my friend. Her birthday is on the 14th, so I need at least the first chapter ready for online by then, and the others soon after. So I will be writing that for the next week or so. Am not sure if I should leave off finishing my NaNo till after the Christmas rush. We'll see.

i know what you mean! i was talking to a friend today, telling him what i'm working on now that nano was over. he didn't get why i didn't take advantage of christmas break to edit nano, seeing as i do plan on editing it someday. *sigh*

the truth is, i finished the first book in a four book series about a month before nano. i chose to do something different for nano, which i am glad of, but now i want to get back to merethion and the delightful characters i left there in september.

jinko and tarek, here i come!

I just started another novel tonight. I have the prologue written. I am planning on beginning to finish/edit my NaNo novel come Christmas break. I have a lot of other stuff to do before then, and I would really like to take a breather from my NaNo novel. It was such a hassel to finish. I had to make up 8k to be done ><

I also forced out the rest of a chapter for my fanfic. It is really wishywashy, and definitely should NOT have been posted...but the fanfic (Harry POtter) is actually a novel that I wanted to write but did not know the characters, setting, etc. So I incorporated Harry Potter. I am thinking that it is time to let the original novel be known and completely take out Harry Potter and all things associated with him and begin to incorporate my own plot, settings, and characters. I will still continue to write the fanfic, but the real deal will be the nicely done novel. ^^

Please, someone let me know if this is plagiarmism. If not, then it will continue to be the fanfic that I do not write for profit.

I have 3 December deadlines. one is met, one is in progress and one is percolating,.
Naturally the "percolating" one is the closest.

I actually started a new project as well :D I should've tried this for my NaNo, but it's okay. They both want typing, so it's all good. 8D I've been wanting to write this as well, but this story has been quite broken for ages now. After awhile, I looked at the story and went "this just doesn't work anymore." This is the first time in ages I've actually tried doing anything about it. It's a shame I didn't try sooner. It's not the most original thing, but I think it's decent.

I missed writing fantasy... I just hope it'll slow down soon. Everything's going so fast at the moment, too fast for my liking. Then again, this is only the beginning of the story.

.And trust me, I'll be making stuff up as I go along... I already am. :) But I don't even know what's going to happen past the outline I've written. I'm debating if I want to continue recycling plot points (yes, it's a kinda-sorta rewrite) or if I want to try something really new. Of course, this means I'd have to figure out what I'm writing.

I'll probably edit/finish my NaNo later on, when the fantasy rush leaves me. Sadly, it always does... then I don't touch it for awhile. I wish my writing moods weren't so stupid.

Sorry about the babble... XD;

NaNoWithdrawal. I have it too. I didn't automatically start a new fiction, but I'm wracking my brain to get a plot for one. XP I feel like I should be insane or something... it's so weird not writing, it makes all these other hours seem empty and strange. 0.0

I'm still going on mine. I'm not stopping until I finish. Even though there is a new idea that keeps prodding me when I try to think about this one. I just won't give the new main character a name. If I don't give her a name she can't bug me and draw my attention away from my NaNo. I really want to finish it!

I had a nice, shinny idea about 1/2 way through Nov. and I really wanted to stop what I was doing on my NaNo and get to work on that. I stuck through with my NaNo, hit my word count on the 30th, finished up the rest of it yesterday, and now have 174 words for the new idea.

No real plot on this one, but I hope it will be funny. I'll take this a little slower though.

I moved on too, since I didn't really like how my NaNo turned out :(
However, I REALLY like this new idea (struck me halfway through November and I couldn't work on it cause I needed to do my NaNo), a ton more than I like said NaNo...
If anyone cares, here's a little info about my new story (potential novel?):

Title: Dragging it Out
Summary: Hi. I'm Halyn la Toan. I'm 16. I just moved to a new town. I'm about to go into my junior year of high school. And I... am a drag queen. This is my story.

I've got the first chapter written and am working on the second one now. Would anyone be interested in possibly reading/critiquing it? -sheepish grin-

I haven't let myself come to terms that it's not November anymore, as I've just continued plugging away on my novel(s). I finished my NaNo in the first week, and then decided that I still wanted to experience the highs and lows that I did last year, so I started the sequel to the one I had just finished. I still finished about the 27th-ish and I got to work on the third one, which I am currently working on. After this I have about four or five more plot ideas I may run with, and give my poor characters a break. Until then, however, I hope to finish this piece of work up by Christmas. Hopefully. (Technically I think this supposed "trilogy" could be a series, but it definitely needs some serious editing.)

Anywho, yeah, I'm just typing furiously away...probably when I should be studying for final exams. The key word there is "should". =S

I finished Shadow Cats the 30th, and the 1st started working on The Goddesses (a novel I started this... summer, I think). Hoping to finish The Goddesses by the end of December, I'm at 33,000 words, roughly, and want to hit around 60,000. December's NaNoFiMo (national novel finishing month).

My first Nano novel is now languishing in a drawer and I've moved on to the next one. I was planning on totally forgetting about the Nano one but I still get characters doing things in my head and incidents and scenes that need adding in. So I'm just going to write them when they happen and add them to the manuscript in the drawer. It will be edited after Christmas.

The next novel is much more structured and needs to be well plotted out and planned. So it will be a completely different writing experience. Plus I need to get a few shorter projects to completion.

It's good to know that there are others out there still writing and still being part of a great global community.

Thanks to Nano, I now have the habit of writing a good chunk of words every day. I am addicted. I cannot stop! I have even worn the letters off my new keyboard! Will try an ergonomic one next - see how long that one lasts!

Best wishes to all Nano Winners. Yay! We made it!

Best wishes,
Palefox.
