Okay guys, I'm gearing up for a long story about a teenage girl (aged about fourteen or fifteen) and since that's around the age hormones start kicking and and this girl has a *definite* love interest, I need some help thinking of fantasies that this kind of teenage girl would have, especially since the guy she wants is totally off limits (read: her best friend).

I'd say it depends on her personality, what kind of fantasies she'd have. :)
If she's a romantic girl, she could be daydreaming about a romantic love scene by candlelight and with rose petals sprinkled all over the bed...
If she's a tough girl, she could be daydreaming about a daring love scene in a place where it's not allowed...

My family runs all the food stands in a small amusement park. Dad bought the company when I was 14, so I basically spent every summer from then on at the park from open to close. Not only did ideas come into my head, but I also ran into other having sex in certain places.
We have antique cars that run on a track. All you really have to do is push the gas, but the little kids feel like they're steering the car. Well, extra and not working cars are stored in a back building. After the movie Titanic came out I found a number of teens (employees) having sex in the back seats of the antique cars. Something about it was irresistable to them.
My big fantasy was, and still is, the haunted mansion. Even though it's been torn down for years, I had a lot of friends who worked in there. Something about the dungeon always brought ideas to my mind. Seeing my friend stripped down to rags, all dirty, running around and swinging through the air in that dungeon just turned me on to no end. I never got a chance before they donated it to the fire dept. and burnt it to the ground.
Those were the two bigs ones from my teen years.

I'd think most teenage girls would still go for the knight in armour type of fantasy. Boys (assuming they didn't still think girls were a stinky nuisance) would be more basic in their daydreams. It's been a while since I was 14 but from what I remember most boys would probably choose their clubhouse, maybe sneaking over to the girlfriends house while the parents were out, that sort of thing. That's assuming they know enough correct details about sex to go on of course.

In my experience {I'm 13} fantasies involving possible boyfriends tend to be the same as realities with previous boyfriends, or friends and their boyfriends, minus everything which ever goes wrong. i.e. Whatever made the previous boyfriends previous, every flaw is ignored during fantasies.

I think that you have to see what kind of character she is first..like what type of personality does she have?
some suggestions though:
a) have the fantasy be about something slow and romantic and gentle
b)have something hard, quick and orgasmic
if you have time comment back on what kind of character she is, i'm interested if i can help at all =)
