Trying to reintroduce the weekly thread.
I finally got back to my 2007 novel, and am trying to do an outline that allows for a real plot and a second draft where most of the scenes further the plot. My theory is that if I can get the plot working, smoothing out the prose should be fairly simple.
Is any one else working on rewrites this month? Working on something else? Just sitting back and relaxing?

Happy Summer, Everyone!
For the most part my writing has been limited to SQL and database structures =) but I did recently enter the short story contest at DailyWritingTips.com. Lemme tell ya, 500 words is a bit tougher than I thought it would be; so much to say!!
I have a goal to get an outline underway for November, but that's about it on the NaNo front for now.
All the best,
Trish

I've been working on marching parades and field shows and getting stuff done around the house. I've been looking at my 2005 story and scribbling notes on it, but that's about it. I'm maybe piecing together an outline for this year, something I've never done before. I've always just flown blind and made the whole thing up as I go... I don't know if I can handle the pressure of structuring my story beforehand.
So, I've got to go clean the shower quick before the baby wakes up. *grin* Happy summer, everyone!

Would have been nice to know about that 500 word contest since I've got a 659 word story I might have been able to compress.

Thanks for pointing us to the daily writing tips site. It looks like a generally interestingsite, even if the rest of us missed the deadline.
