Hey Everyone! I see that it's on the schedule for tomorrow at 5:00. I have yet to been able to make it to a write-in in this region. I'm coming from MN tomorrow and very well may drive past college and directly to Panera...

My Question is: This is still going on, right? The forums have been a bit dead.

Where and When Events--UPDATED

All write-ins will be at the cafe in the Barnes & Noble store at the Southern Hills Mall. There is wireless available. Here is a link to the store.

Write-Ins
Sundays (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd)
2 pm to 6 pm

The final mad dash/party/get-together will be at the Panera Bread cafe. There is FREE wireless there and they are open until 8 on Sundays. I hope to see everyone who voted on times and locations and has not yet appeared at a gathering.

Saturday November 1st
6 pm to 10 pm

I (Alphabeter, your ML) will be leaving the northside of Sioux City at 5:30, so I hope to be in the cafe before 6 pm. I will be wearing a bright yellow Nano ML t-shirt with jeans and toting a big black bag.

I'm sure I'll get comments about this, but look for the Sarah Palin look-alike. I wear my auburn hair up in a bun and have big glasses (though mine are big brown square frames). I will most likely be scowling into my silver laptop, so feel free to come up and introduce yourself. If whoever is working the cafe will let me (allowances vary by present staff), I'll also have a little Nano sign on the table where I will be sitting.

I hope to see all returning and new NaNo'ers alike!

Any other college students doing this?

Hey there everyone!

This is my second year doing this and I actually hope to cross the finish line this time. I go to Briar Cliff University and was wondering if there were any other Chargers or other college students doing this so we could get a support group or something going.

If any of you run cross country or track, I will possibly see you then with my notebook in hand writing after my event is done.

Day and Times Poll

I take care of an ailing family member four days a week as well as work overnights, so my "free" time to be regularly available for NaNo is limited. As such, there are only a few choices for what day and during what times the write-ins will occur.

Option 1:
Friday nights from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Option 2:
Sunday afternoons from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Option 3:
Alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 pm to 5 pm.
(Tuesday first and third weeks; Thursday second and fourth weeks)

Option 4 aka Package A:
Kick-off Party Saturday the 1st at Perkins
Sunday write-ins (Option 2) the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd at B&N cafe
TGIO Party Sunday the 30th (no wireless would be available for last minute verifications) at Perkins

Option 5 aka Package B:
Kick-off Party Saturday the 1st at Perkins
Friday write-ins (Option 2) the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th at B&N cafe
Bonus write-in on Sunday the 23rd (for MIAs due to Turkey Day) at B&N
TGIO Party Sunday the 30th at B&N cafe (with wireless until 10pm)

Location Poll

I have a couple of places that are willing to "host" the gatherings.
As they are literally all over town, I'm taking a vote to see which would suit the most people.

Without naming the businesses, I'm going to put the locations as poll options.

Option 1: Northside Sioux City location for all parties and meetings

I just wanted to drop a line and wish everyone the very best in NaNoWriMo this year. I am unable to participate this year do to personal objectives, the general all over chaos with my websites. Oh yeah- and college courses. Intro to Psych is frustrating- and well, as luck would have it- I chose to take 'Personal Finance'.

I do wish everyone the very best and may you reach the 50,000 marker. Me, I'm just hoping to pass Intro to Psych.

I couldn't resist! First to make a topic, woo. I'm really excited, this is my first year to try to conquer NaNoWriMo. I'm stoked.

I go to school in Orange City, IA, about an hour from Sioux City, but I'm excited to get together with others for write-ins or what not.
