Hi! My name is Nicole, I'm 33, I'm your friend Municipal Liason for the Pullman/Whitman County/Palouse area, and this will be my sixth (wow) year doing this, and hopefully my third year winning. X-D This year I'll be working on a Science fiction ghost story. So far, anyway. For those of us who've done this before, we know that the plot can change and the drop of a pen.

Please, tell me about yourselves, whether you've done this before, where you're hailing from, how old you are, and what your favorite genre to write in is. :)

Weekly Write-Ins Planning

Please post here about which days and times of those days are the best for you to meet for weekly write-ins. Even if you've already mentioned it elsewhere, PLEASE post here.

We have an enormous group of at least 17 people in Pullman alone this year (OMGYAY!!!!) so YES, there will be NO PROBLEM organizing at LEAST two write-ins a week, including weekends, more than that if four or more people's Best Times (tm) overlap. I don't have a job at present, so the only bad times for me are MWF from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Other than that I'm yours, all yours.

Also, I'm sensitive to where you live, so please post WHERE you prefer to meet. You may not get your first choice on that, but hey, I'll never know if you don't speak up, and tons of people may share your preferences, so please speak up!

Nov. 15th Write-In Party: Night of Writing Dangerously!

Hello there!

I want to thank everyone who was able to come last night, it was a great fun time< I hope evryon enjoyed themselves and helped their word counts.

Let's do it all over again tonight, only this time with games, more food, and more sillyness!

I'm giving everyone a bonus. Instead of the totals I wrote down yesterday, I'm not going to take down word count totals for the silent auction until some time this afternoon, so don't forget to update your word count today! Please bring a White Elephant (something silly, for the uninitiated) gift to be auctioned off.

We're going to hold The Night of Writing Dangerously: Pullman at 6 p.m. at Denny's, hopefully in "The Dome." If just everyone who has posted an introduction in the Intro thread would be able to show up, we'd have a.) QUITE a shindig, and b.) a lot easier time reserving and holding the Dome for just as long as we need it.

You can get to Denny's by taking the South Bus if you don't have a ride. If you're a lady, you can also come via Women's Transit, which is avilable to every woman in Pullman whether she's a student or not.

You're most welcome to post in this thread if you have a car and are able to offer rides home.

Last night we met at 6 p.m., and wrote until 5 a.m.! What a night! I would be delighted if we have the stamina to pull it off again tonight! Hopefully tonight will be a delightful mix of both celebrating and heavy writing sprints to try to at least catch up to where we each should be by midnight: 26672 words! AUGH! ;)

I have one power adapter and one extension cord, I'd appreciate it if others could bring any spares they have just in case we have great need.

As always, you're welcome to bring friends. I hope to see as many people as possible tonight!

PARTY TONIGHT:
Some of us are meeting tonight in preparation for the Midnight Start of NaNoWriMo, at Denny's. I will be there as early as 10 p.m, because our group is HUGE this year, and more people means we need more time to goof off and get to know each other! You're welcome to bring games, guests, dictionaries, DVD's (seriously, we may be able to get The Dome, which has a DVD player.) and whatever else you like!

I'm not leaving until 2:30 A.M. at the EARLIEST, and traditionally I don't leave until 5 a.m. because I spend the first five hours of NaNoWriMo writing.

Alas, because it is Halloween night I wasn't able to reserve the Dome. IF I knew for certain that we have a minimum of 15 people coming, I probably could get away with reserving it, but for now Denny's is keeping the Dome as first come, first served. (Hence my own 10 p.m. arrival, heh heh heh...) It would be *extremely* helpful if you could reply in this thread:

and let me know if you are definitely attending, because the more people coming (the merrier!) the more easily I can wrestle the Dome (that doored-off room) for our sole possession. And I'm sure we can all agree how wonderful a quiet room all to ourselves to write in with few distractions would be for this night of all nights. ;-)

Pullman Kick-off Party Planning!

Hi!

Well we have some weeks yet, but we should think about planning our kick-off party. I nominate the weekend before November 1st for our kick-off party, unless you want to go earlier. That would put our party somewhere between October 24th-26th, do we have any preferences?

There are any number of places around town we could meet at and be noisy in together for hours. I'm a big fan of Denny's simply because its very close and very easy for me to get to, even though my electric scooter is currently broken. Its also convenient because we can reserve "The Dome," that glassed-off area where we can close the doors and have privacy, if we want it. However it's okay if I'm outvoted on this one. ;) There's also Zoe on College Hill, that is popular among some of our members, and the ubiquitous Daily Grind that may be a bit cramped. Last year we met quite a bit at Bagels & Brew, but it has since closed down. :,(

Checking my calendar, I see that November 1st is very luckily Saturday. For those of you who are new, I'm a big fan of starting NaNoWriMo precisely at midnight on the 31st. If there's any interest, I can go ahead and definitely reserve the Dome in Denny's for this one, since Denny's is the only 24-hour establishment in town, and most of our members can't meet at bars. We would meet there between 11-11:30p.m. :)

Co-Municipal Liason Invitation!

Hi there!

Having done this for a few years, I can tell you that being the Municipal Liason for a region of almost any size is much easier with a co-pilot. It is surprisingly easy with a conspirator, and shockingly stressful alone. My co-ML of last year has moved to Seattle to attend that other University, so here I am again, singing "All by myself" and eating Dove chocolates.

Is there anyone around who would like to try their hand at being my co-pilot this year? It doesn't matter to me if you're going to be in this area next year or in future years. I must be pretty good at this training thing, because both of my previous co ML's have gone on to want to ML the regions they've moved to.

Please let me know either via this thread or nano/e-mail!
