Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I posted here, and the last time I did it was under a different name. Which I don't remember anymore. Probably Ghost Mommy Lady or something similar.

I'm just checking in to say hi. I was in Washington for a year and then I moved back. I don't expect to win since 3 small children and a very busy job make for hard times finding time to write.........not to mention I don't have internet access at home. But I'm here, I'm giving it a shot again this year, and, well. uh, hi!

Yeah...that's right. My comp shut off suddenly this morning...and I haven't been able to get it to turn back on...yet anyway...and not only that...but my power cord also died...so I can't even charge the thing and see if that's it's problem :(

Question for the mac users, anyone know...does Word for Mac corrupt the file like regular word does? I'm not to that point yet of course, but it would be nice to know....

Instant Messengers

I have had a lot of success in past years having "writeathons" in online chats. We don't actually write our novel in the chat, but a bunch of us get together, and set certain time frames, anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour (10 to 15 min is my personal preference) to write as many words as you can, and then take a breather and BS and chat, discuss the stories, any plot or detail issues you may be having, and generally sharing camaraderie. So, in the interest of setting some of these up locally, what are your various Instant Messenger names, so you can be added to buddy lists and invited into chats as people see you are on, or come online and decide to open a chat?

I use AIM, MSN and Xfire mostly. My Yahoo messenger died, but I suppose I could reload it.

Scheduling a Kick-off

Hello all out there! I'm still waiting to hear back from the ML Headmistress, which means that I can't just send out mail to everyone that has signed up in Boise. While I'm waiting, I can start to gather info the hard way...

To all of you who are reading this, please let me know the following information, either by sending me mail directly (machorse70@gmail.com) or in this forum. I will check all modes of communication regularly:
1. Your name and screen name (just your screen name will suffice if you're at all concerned about your identity)
2. Your location in the Treasure Valley
3. Your preference for a meeting location (city, cross streets, actual location, the more specific the better, but generalities are great too)
4. Your preference for a meeting time (day of the week, time of day, etc), as well as your actual availability for a kick-off party.

Those of you who have already ALL of your preferences known in the "Kick-Off?" thread, I've got you down, though you're more than welcome to tell me again :-P

Also, if you know people in the area, prod them to let me know the same information somehow.

Hey all, I have a bit of a problem...assuming I go to work tomorrow....which is assuming my knee isn't hurting to bad ( I was in an accident Wednesday afternoon)....I will need someone who would be willing to pick me up about 6:15 or so. I work at the Library on the BSU campus. The library closes at 6, but we have to "Sweep" aka make sure everyone is out of the building, this usually takes about 10 minutes or so. So if someone would be able to meet at around 6:15 that would be appreciated. Message me if you think you would be able to do this and I can give you my phone number. Thanks all....

We should probably start planning our kick off party.

I really liked meeting at the big book store last year.
