I know, it's only September 26th, but November 1st is soooo close I can feel my little gray cells revving up - and I'm pretty sure I can hear other people's getting wound up also. Or maybe it's just mosquitoes. Whatever it is, it's noisy and it's making me itchy to pick up a pencil. If you look up you'll see hundreds, no thousands of muses zipping back and forth over our heads just waiting for invitations.

I haven't received word of any other ML's in NH yet, but last year a few people joined in a little bit later on. So at this time I'll just introduce myself and let you know what I'm able to help with. I'm "Lynners", this is my second year as an ML. I live in Hollis, NH - which is next door to Nashua and just on the NH/MA border. Last year I tried to have at least two, sometimes 3 write-ins every week in the Nashua/Milford/Merrimack areas. This year I will have a Google Calendar which everyone will have access to, and which I hope everyone will list places and times where they would like to meet up with others for write-ins. We started out pretty scattered last year, but by mid-month people were getting to know who was around and were finding places to meet in various areas.

If people will send me the information: Name, Address, Phone and Hours of Operation; of places where they would like to have write-ins, I'll post them on the calendar or on the forum. If you have a place and time that you're committed to, let me know and we'll put it on the calendar so others can join you.

That's about all for the moment. I have to admit that I haven't studied the new NNWM site yet. I have a lot to learn, so bear with me. If there are MLs out there that I don't know about yet - Hi! It's going to be a great month!

Here's to us!

Hi!
I'm Ashley, and I'm from Newmarket which is quite a few hopskipjumps from you guys. I'm hoping that the Epping Starbucks writeins will continue this year as those were great last year!
This is my fourth year doing NaNo, and definitely my busiest so far with grad school applications and the like, so we'll see how it goes! I'm aiming for 50K even though I've done more than that the past two years. For this year, my goal is to finish without jepordizing anything else!

Hi Lynners and other Granite Staters,

On the topic of NaNoWriMoiites/ers/ists... what should people from New Hampshire call themselves? It's bothered me since I was a little kid. I mean, there are Floridians and Californians, Mainers and Vermonters, Texans and Rhode Islanders... what are we?New Hampshirites? THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME.

I'm Audrey! I've lived all over NH, but I'm currently in West Lebanon. I would love to meet other people in the area for support and hysteria. This is my first NaNoWriMo, and I have a feeling that I'll need it!

Cheers,
Audrey

Hi Audrey!
Well, I've always heard us referred to as New Hampshirites... and here, once again, Wikipedia comes to the rescue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._state_residents_names
Gotta love the internet!

We have dalton_rising in Lebanon. Is that near W. Lebanon - or is that too sensible!

Welcome! You're in for a great experience!

Oh yes, they're next to each other. Technically West Leb is a part of the greater city of Lebanon.

Heyla, I'm up in Berlin, but won't be participating this year. I have friends coming from England to stay with us the month of November. I would be willing to go to a write in if someone happens to stage one up here. Who knows? The plot bunnies might attack!

Caitirin checking in!

This will be my sixth year. I'm in Dover.

I plan to host write ins here in Dover. Probably in the new Paneras :} And right now I'm leaning towards Tuesdays.

I'm also in my last semester of grad school and facing taking the masters comprehensive exams in the middle of November. AUGH!

Hi Lillehafrue. This is quilter from Berlin. I wrote to you last year and was hoping to again this year. I am a member of a writers group at the college in Berlin. We meet the 3rd Saturday of each month except Dec, July & Aug from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. There is only on guy in the group and he usually has to work. We are a small group, but we meet to get inspiration to keep on writing. Join us on Oct 18th if you can. Would love to meet and make a plan to start a write-in.

Hi New Hampsters! I'm a "Bay Stater" on the NH border. I would be interested in a meeting on the seacoast between Seabrook and Portsmouth.

Post here or PM me. Thanks,

Hi!

Last year was my first year and I didn't finish (bleh) although the friends who read the incomplete story want it finished. LOL

At any rate, I'm in Jaffrey and trying to decide if I can manage this year what with two jobs one of which is grant writing. This is the feast or famine thing - last year no jobs, this year two jobs. I'm thinking that a regular writing group would get me motivated to actually do something. Since I work in Keene on Tuesdays and Fridays (9:00-5:00) and have the flexibility to leave work for a couple of hours, I kind of like the idea of Panera's in Keene for lunch and whatever on one of those days.

Hi Lynn and NH Nanowrimo's!

I'm ready for another go, even though I swore I'd sit this year out.

I live in Kingston now, and would love to meet for a weekly write-in at the Epping Starbucks like some of us did last year. Any takers?

Hey Alicia! Welcome back!

According to the directory there are three Starbucks in Epping! I'm working on a list of possible write-in places in and between where NaNoWrimos are located.

Here's to a great November!

I'm a first timer this year...I'm in Gilmanton, just north of Concord. I'm involved in a workshop right now called First Draft in 14 Days--if I learn what I'm suppose to, this should go well.

Hi ashleynicole,

I'm just going by what I found on the internet when I looked up "Starbucks Epping NH". My son, who went to UNH, tells me that it's wrong - so chances are pretty good that it's actually a listing of the front door on one street, the back on another and the side on a third. Hmmmmmm is that possible? Anyway - here are the addresses that are shown on the internet. Let me know if any of them are correct!

-Lynners

Starbucks
96 Calef Highway, Epping 679-8789

Starbucks
22 Randall Way, Epping 679-8962

Starbucks
54 nottingham Square Road, Epping 679-8789

Ah Ha! Same phone number on two of them! Perhaps the two door address theory isn't so crazy after all!

Hi Lynners!!

I'm Emi, and back for the second year! :) Hopefully this year will be a change from last year and I win! Haha. I'm near Hollis too so anything around that area would be awesome... J Beaners??? I'm not playing sports this year, so I _might_ be able to make it to some write ins. Depends on when I'm working... Haha. If it's not one thing, it's another!

Are we going to do that war thing with the other New England states again?!? That was awesome. :)

Hiyo!

Shaun speaking, from Nashua. I live just next to Library Hill on Main St., so I'm quite close to a lot of places! I'd be interested in meeting up once or twice for a meeting, though my schedule is somewhat erratic so I don't know for sure when I'd be available...

Hi Lynners and gang,
I can't believe this is my eighth year! And somehow I've managed to reach the big 50K if not the end of the story. This year I'm working on an old short story that has always wanted to be a novel, a coming-of-age story. Should be fun.

My schedule for November is wide open except for Saturdays. I'm between jobs, as they say. Unless I find work very soon, I'd be free for just about any write in that comes along, as long as my fingers hold up. No laptop.

I'm really excited to see so many peeps from Wilton/Lyndeborough/Milford area. Suggestions: J. Beaners (great sandwiches) on 101A in Amherst, Santos-Dumont (great ice cream) on 101 in Milford.

Hey hey Anna checking in for my second year! Woot! I don't know if I'm ready for this, but who cares, right?

So I'm in Exeter, and the Epping Starbucks write-ins were great. I loved 'em. I also went to a write-in at the Panera and the Barnes & Noble in Newington. Those were OK, but a little loud I thought. Starbucks was definitely the best.

Can't wait to see you guys there!

Checking in from Manchester. Year 3 for me. I don't know if I'll be able to do write ins or not, we have a girl out on maternity leave and I've picked up some extra shifts. Damned economy.

We want the Calef Highway Sbux. No idea about those other ones-- I don't even think one matches the back road-- Thought the back road was Main St, but might be wrong.

Can't wait!

It looks like you'll be stuck with me again this year, or me with you lot, whichever seems more appropriate.

I'm a bit undecided whether I should do much planning this time around. Last year I found out about Nano too late to do any planning even if I wanted to. This year I have some good ideas about what I want to write, in broad strokes, but should I sketch out the characters and day to day activity? On one hand, last year I hit fifty thousand words without undue struggle; but on the other hand, the story I started was much longer than fifty thousand words and remains unfinished.

Choices, choices.

Hi y'all. I'm Dennis. I've succeeded twice at this, failed....well, 2 or 3 times, can't remember which, though I could find out for sure if I just examine my cd's of my old writings. I couldn't do it last November, because I was down in Florida for my brother's wedding. Hopefully this year will do well, I've got some good ideas, but I might have to move during the month, so I'll have to write my butt off. I'm living in Merrimack right now, could change at any time. I wish you all luck.
