Any other UH Hilo students (or general Hilo area people) doing NaNo? I usually put up some fliers around campus, but this year I don't have a printer and am too broke to spend the seven cents a page at the library to print some off. So if somebody else wants to spread the word instead...

I really hope we can get together and have a bigger write-in than last year (there were four of us)!

Hey hey,
I'm here at UHH. I just recently recieved an email from a friend back home asking me if I wanted to either participate in NaNo with him this year or at least give him emotional support. :P This is the first I have ever heard of it and I'm actually pretty excited. Perhaps we can get together and figure something out for spreading the word.

Awesome! I'd really like to have more than one write-in this year. Last year it was just me and another lady, plus our two MLs who flew in.

If we have an on-campus write-in sometime, I can offer up my living room for a writing area :'D (I'm in the 'Ikena dorms), or last year we met at Kope Kope (a cafe in the Hilo Shopping Center, about a 5-10 min. walk from campus).

Hello again! I do hope you can have more events and participants this year! Make sure to let us know about events you plan, so that we can add them to the calendar and include them in our e-mails. We are planning to come back to Hilo this year, so I hope you folks are available on the 15th. Keep spreading the word and I'm sure you'll find people who are interested.

Yay for Hilo writers! I'm a junior at Waiakea High, so just across the street from UHH. This is my first year attempting NaNoWriMo, so it would be fun to get together with other people... I'll be the youngster of the group. ;D

Hi. I'm a Hiloite, of the Baby Boomer variety. This is my first NaNoWriMo. I'm really impressed by the numbers other writers are turning in. I'm afraid I'm just struggling to catch up with my necessary daily word count. Anybody out there who'd like to be in touch?

Ya know, I completely forgot that these forums were here. LoL.
But if anyone on the UHH campus needs a quiet place to just type their hearts out on their laptops, the third floor of Campus Center is pretty quiet. I work in the Student Activities Council office (CC 307) and have spend quite a bit of time holed up in my little corner of my office while chaos is all around me. (We're preparing props for our Haunted House in December...long story...look for fliers up around campus soon.) Swing by if you want even if it's just to say hi. I'm usually there when I'm not in class.
We even have a lanai area right outside our office that's really nice as long as it's not raining.
