Please post the city (and if it's big like VB, which end) in which you live. Or at least north side/south side of the HRBT. Thanks! ^_^

Williamsburg -- York County side. Anyone else here??
Hi, I'm Joanne, this is my second NaNo. I've been thinking about this one ever since last year's. I have characters but still no plot. BUT I have Chris Baty's book (No Plot? No Problem!) and I feel relatively confident thanks to his encouragement. Last year it felt like a fluke that I actually finished a novel by starting with nothing. So I'm really wondering if I can pull it off again. Looking forward to meeting y'all.

Old enough to drive!! :) Actually I've been driving twice as many years as you've been alive. *Sigh!* I might as well tell you I'm 49. But, hey, if you are willing, I would enjoy meeting up with you for a write in -- along with anyone else in the Williamsburg area!
As for having no ideas ... that's all part of the fun/agony!

Hello all!
I'm getting a bit of late start on the forums, but work has been crazy, so, err, I have a good excuse? *grin*
I'm down (up?) in Newport News, near the airport, but I'll be out of work come October 24th, so I have plenty of travel time in my schedule. Last year I met up with friends at the Barnes & Nobel over at Patrick Henry mall, and it was a blast! For some reason I write like a crazy person if I have an audience.
Looking forward to meeting folks and getting some wordcount going! ^_^

Hey Martha (and cat) -- Barnes and Noble at Patrick Henry mall would work out well for me, I'm in Williamsburg, on the side near Busch Gardens. I didn't get to do any group write-ins last year but I really want to try at least one this year.

I'd be more than happy to head up there every so often as well! :)
I work up by BG (or will until 10/24), so I spent many a lunch scouting areas up there in search of places to write. There's the Starbucks in the shopping center over by Kingsmill, or we could camp in one of the cafes/delis (The Wine and Cheese Shop is my favorite place for lunch!)
Down here in NN we've got the B&N and also the Borders inside the mall itself. There's also a Panera Breads (mmm) and a Starbucks (although the Sb is really small :P) in the shopping center over by the airport. Whose name escapes me. >.<;;;

Hi Emileigh
Someone mentioned the Wine and Cheese shop as a possible meeting spot. I think meeting at Aroma's Coffee House (right near Colonial Williamsburg) would also be cool. What do you think? BTW, As for middle of nowhere spots, I moved here last year from Southern Maryland, a true Boonieville, so I sympathize with you. (I do miss Maryland, though, it was a great place for road biking and watching sunsets).

Please PM me with suggestions for north-side write-ins. I can probably attend one or two in the Williamsburg area, but need things more in Hampton and NN to be drive-able for me. ^_^ And I know there's a B&N in Merchant's Square (isn't that what it's called) as well in W'burg... Just thoughts. Alix and I are trying to get the write-ins scheduled before we hit November so people know when and where we'll be. ^_^

In NN or Gloucester? If it's NN, then it's right up the street from me! *grin* Gloucester would require some MapQuesting on my part, but I should be able to swing that as well, if that's what you meant. ^_^
