Sadly, even the beautiful, interesting introductions to our AMAZING Toronto NaNofolk have been lost in the server crash -- so that just means you can start again! Make your lies even grander! ;)
F'real, this is the Introductions thread. Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you? What do you do? What did you mean by that? Are you trying to pick a fight with me? No, really -- I'll see you out back after school!
Whoa! Got a little out of hand there. Point is, this is the place to tell us as much, or as little, about yourself as possible. Names are always nice, as are pictures -- as one of the hardest things in this whole on-and-offline event (for me, at least) is putting the two together as I meet people. But tell us whatever you want!
I promise, I'll drop by soon and do this myself -- but don't wait for me, let's hear about you!

Lies? But I'm just cool enough that I don't have to lie to seem cool! D:<
...over the internet anyway.
Hi everyone (and everyone I haven't seen since the May meet-up gets an OMG HI! so that I seem a bit more enthusiastic... considering it's 9 o'clock in the morning.) I'm A-Chels *pointing at screen name* and this is my second NaNo. If you come to the write-ins, you'll recognise me as being the one with the dresses (and that is so much clearer if you've actually met me), as long as the November weather holds up like it did last year.
Anyway... I'm in my second year at U of T, and have a hell of a lot of things due in November this year, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to focus on those and my novel at the same time. Last year, my Latin class ended up taking a backseat to NaNo and as a result... Well, I passed, but only just barely. xD But none of my classes this year seem to be appealing to my inner masochist, so the chances of another textbook coming out at the Overnight this year aren't as big. (...by the way, does anyone speak German? 'cause it'd be great to try and keep up with that class by practicing with real people...)
See you all (hopefully) at the Launch!

Hey Everyone,
I complete NanoWriMo in 2004, but sence then I haven't really competed. I've lurked around the forums, and wanted to get out to events, but I haven't had the time. This year with the arrival of a laptop from work, and getting a Phone with a full keyboard, I'm hoping to find the time to actually write a novel.
I'm going to try and come out to events, but with a Pregnant wife and 2 year son, its not aways easy to slip away. But I'll try.
I've got a blog The Evolving Dad, where I talk about Fatherhood and Technology and just random things from my life.
Hope to see you all around.

I"m STILL Hilary, aka Hil or hilarious
Live in downtown TO
I'm 46
have a son who is 12
single mother
spending my days being insanely creative, working at making money at all of the following:
painting, pottery, novels, photography, cleaning house+laundry+cooking for 4 tenants(+ son), landscape architecture/design,teaching ESL, etc..
I succeeded in writing my first NANO in May -on my own, after reading the 'bible': "No Plot, No Problem"
that's now my motto prior to Nov 1...It worked last time!
This will be my 4th novel, since I wrote one (took 3 years!) prior to NaNo, and there seems to be another that started this summer..still in progress..
The May NaNovel was more flippant, humorous, silly and took reckless turns...but my neighbour is a publisher, so i got her drunk to get her to agree to reading it (+got me drunk to have the guts to ask her!)
Hoping her comments don't kill me..
next week I"m off to NFLD to gather inspiration and photographs...
and post-NaNo I'm rewarding myself (+son) with a trip to Peru!!...
So the scene it set....Let's go!

Suddenly glad my parents didn't do Nano when I was little. lol. I actually keep trying to convince my mother to join up and do it with me (and only a little because I want rides the events, mostly she's just a crazy talented writer who never writes anything).
I'm hoping to attend as many events as possible this year, but I'm a little worried. 11 months of the year I do absolutely nothing. I catch up on my reading, and my tv, and then BAM! All of a sudden I have six things going on a one time, and that always seems to happen in November. But baring deaths in the family and complete hard drive crash, it should still be better than last year.

Hi everyone,
While I live in Winnipeg these days, I wrote three of my previous five nanos in Toronto. And I'm hoping to come to town for a few days and make it to some events.
I look like these, at least when I'm about to eat sushi:
My novel will be written on my trusty macbook pro. I tend to dither over what software to write with, but this year I'm going to stick with Scrivener.

Hola,
I am Teri and this is my third go at NaNo. I bombed out in the first year, and while I won in the second year, I absolutely HATE HATE HATE the stupid annoying conventional historical romance novel I did. Some of my crappiest writing ever, and that includes the bombastic goth girl love poems I wrote in high school.
Anyways, I live in Parkdale (take THAT Powers that Be who changed up the polictical ridings! You say I'm in Davenport, but damnit, it's freaking PARKDALE) with my husband and two dumb but demanding cats. I want to be a writer when I grow up. Sure, I'm 35 now, but is that really grown up? I don't think so!

ello all!
I'm a 22 year old Female, and this is my first year doing NaNoWroMo! I'm really excited about it too. I've been eagerly waiting since like july when I read No Plot? No Problem! I had randomly picked it up at Chapters while I was browsing in the writing section, for no other reason than that it had been a long time since I had done any quality writing, and I wanted to brush up my skills. I read the back cover, thought it sounded good, so I bought it. When I started reading it and found out that there was this whole online world around NaNoWriMo, I thought it was the coolest thing ever and just had to sign on for the crazy ride. It's been agony, because I decided to wait until November to start writing again just incase I exhausted all my good ideas before then. lol. I know, Silly me! So i'm glad its comming up soon!
When I'm not writing, I'm usually sewing Costumes or Corsets for whichever theatre group I'm working for at that time, or for friends who want me to make them cosplay outfits, and the occational commissioned peice from random people. I went to school for Technical Theatre (back stage stuff) and I majored in not only in wardrobe, but in props and scenic painting as well, so i've got a whole bunch of random talents, like making fake food, puppet building, jewlery making, faux finnishing techniques, shoe dying, etc.
Anyways, enough about me. I'm really looking foreward to getting to know you all!
Happy writing!! <3
(and my picture is on my profile page, i'm not sure how to post in on here... hope I didn't bore you!)

Some of this is stolen from my intro in the other thread, but some is added in (though not as eloquently as the first time around) ...
My name's Carina, I'm 23, and I live downtown. Though I've attempted to do NaNo before, I've never really gotten past the first couple days. I usually figure out after about 2000 words that I'm either going to be able to do NaNo or go to classes and hand in my papers on time. *grin* Last year I even planned to come out to some of the events, but the planning totally bombed.
This year, though, I'm finally out of school - as a student, anyways - and so I'm hoping that for once, I'll get a decent attempt in. I'm also planning on having a couple of my classes compete against each other doing the YWP version of NaNo, so be prepared for a bit of bitching and whining on my part about that sure-to-be-fiasco.
I have absolutely nothing planned right now except a title and a few half-baked general ideas. Still not sure how much or how little I'm going to try to outline. I sort of think I want to just wing it!
In response to you people up there:
1) Mmm, corsets.
2) My new roommate's a stage manager, and my partner's a film director, so I get to be the lowly English teacher watching them with my jaw on the ground.
My picture's on the profile. For those who wish to stalk me further, I'm on CrackBook (Carina Schneider) and ElJay (darkestembrace). I'm also an internet junkie, so I'll probably be in the IRC quite a bit. :-)

Well, I'm Aimee, this is my second year doing this but I failed miserably the first year (I have habit of erasing everything I don't like...and then I started to hate my plot, not a good combination). I'm hoping to get past my old word count (a sad 20K or so...) oh, and I'm 14 and I'm really not good at intruducing myself...
So, yeah, that's me.

Hiya everyone:
I'm back for a ... oh dear lost track of how many times I've been here for LOL. Lets see, since 2002, so for my 7th year.
I work as a legal secretary in Toronto, have a fabulous gamer boyfriend (yep, he was reading over my shoulder) and love to play World of Warcraft in my spare time. I think I only ever failed once in my 7 years doing this, and I'm hoping that this year I'll be able to craft something that goes beyond 50k of words. ^_^v
I love cats, but sadly do not own any. My hobbies include going to used bookstores, collecting wow trading cards as well as playing WoW, Mario Kart Wii (Daisy is my favourite) and watching old tv sitcoms with my fiance. (Perfect Strangers is our current project.)

My real name's Josh, if you'd prefer that. Although I have a knack for eloquent writing, I pay for this dearly with awkward social skills that tend to make people wonder if I'm just really stoned.
As for my current situation, I'm studying English and philosophy at UofT (second year).I've never done the NaNoWriMo thing before, but I've been trying to get back into a good writing habit, and this fits well with my "jump in the deep end" approach to these things. Also, I'll be beginning my twenties at the end of October and this seems like a fun way to kick off my third decade of existence.
When I'm not feeding my unhealthy obsessions with literature and abstruse philosophical tracts (at school or otherwise), I enjoy nerdy things like video games and anime.

Hello everyone new and old! My name's Ryan, and I'm a 29 year old writer from Mississauga. This is my seventh time doing Nano, with 5 wins under my belt previously. I'm also the word war captain for this year (more on that later).
In my Clark Kent job, I'm an adult educator, and when not writing novels, I like to play guitar, write haiku, annoy Errol, play Wii, and drinking delicious, delicious coffee.
I've been told I bear a striking resemblance to this guy:

And side note: Errol is also incredibly fun to beat up on, make fun of, and generally abuse. He also made me a wonderful banner which I still have on my blog and I fully expect him to replace when I pwn my old word count. And that wonderful chatroom which was so addictive.
