Having ridden your tailwinds into success last year, I hereby challenge thee to a NaNo 2008 duel.

Name your terms and seconds.

Verily, I shall respond as the heel that I am!

Your challenge, fair maiden, is to take up thy gage and *finish* the work before the month is out. No "to be continued," no "until next time," no "ummmmm, ending goes here because yay I made the 50K anyway so suck it, Goatboy!"

That is your quest. Reach the finish line, with the work having a recognizable beginning, middle and end before the thirty days are up. Time to completion is immaterial; you must *finish* within thirty days, not just hit 50K. Should you complete this task, I shall applaud thee and you may be inducted into my Dark Circle.

You may appoint a second if you like; as with all poorly-drawn villains, I simply stand alone and say BWHAHAHAH!

This will be fun. Good to see you again!

And here I have you monologuing already. That was your first mistake, evil villain!

I will see you your quest for - The End - and raise you a Back Cover Blurb!

As for seconds, don't you know that the female heroine is always a perfect shot, a world class fencer, and a flawless archer? I need no seconds, Good Sir.

I shall see you at dawn on the 1st at thirty paces! (And, as any gently-bred woman would, I'll bring the coffee and pastries.)

And so it begins.....

But I will watch your battle with enthusiasm. :)

I wilt stand by awaiting the first stroke of the pen (sword?). Then it shall be that I will engage in mine own battle with thee and thine! Mwuahahaha! Victory shalt be assured for those who take advantage of weakened heroes! ^v^

You want to get as early a start on the writing as possible. It's the only way to defeat him.
