Hi Barry,

Yes I'm still with NVWG. We're putting out our 20th anniversary anthology in November.

I'm looking forward to Nanowrimo, my head is already buzzing with the characters.

Are you still with Nitewriters?

Great to see some fellow mid north coaster's here and from all ends of the area!

So what are we all writing?

I'm writing a chick lit, a sort of sequel to an earlier novel.

Kirsty McInnes returns to Bilby Creek with revenge on her mind.
Revenge for losing her job...revenge for Luke rejecting her...revenge
for Chloe snatching Luke from her and causing her to lose her job. And
she has a television crew in tow and a plan to wreak havoc.

Geneveive d'Vine sees the reality TV program as her last chance to
revitalise a fading, plastic surgicised acting career. Unhappy and
compromised in her loving but unconsumnated marriage of convenience,
she knows there's more to life. But has she already sacrificed her
life to so many lies, that reality is no longer possible?

Hilda McGeachin sees the reality TV show coming and knows that this
will be the downfall of her beloved town. With smut and pornography
and ridicule broadcast across the nation, what hope does Bilby Creek
have?

Well, that's my blurb for now, but anything can happen as Nano progresses.

So what is everyone else writing?

Huh, (pleasantly) surprised there's so many people from this area.

I'm from Bonny Hills. 3rd Nano, though I'm hoping this to be the first that I make past the 10k words (things usually distract me).

SCi-Fi novel for me, though it'll be less crazy aliens and more gritty elseworlds.

trying my hand at chick lit here

MFC lives with flat mates doing single girl in the city things (jerky ex's etc) Parents separate father leaves mother and not even for the cliché ( and he has a very pretty secretary too) but for Camilla parker bowls. The father has been having on off with woman for years- MFC has to move back in with mother who has lost the plot and is trolling her way through a book called 101 ways to meet loose men. The father then drops bombshell that the other woman’s 2nd son is half brother MFC made out with in high school and is jerk central.
not sure where i am going from here but i trust my muse..

I feel really young here. Age hasn't begun to effect my growth, like wrinkles and memory loss. No offence meant by the way. Anywho this is my first year and Im writing this at 1:00 am on the morning of October 23rd. A small fireplace burns down to coals in the corner and a gale blows outside. The last hours are ticking away, I can hear the clock as it ticks and tocks infinatly, or atleast until its batteries run out. And I yawn, bed time for me, time to retreat deep into my house for a good nights rest and by up early to talk to you again.

J. Clearwater, 16 years old, Mid North Coast (about 30 mins from Port Maquarie). J Clearwater is not my real name. As I said its my first year and gasp only about a week until the month starts. If anyone is looking to meet up I am free anytime except weekdays from 9:00 am to 3:30am, when I have school. Give me a chance thought, I consider myself reasonably apt at literacy. Im shy in person but, kind once you get to know me (thats what I think anyway).

Writing a modern teen romance, about the effects of growing up in countrytons when you are a homosexual. Because alot of kids don't understand and I wish to shine light on it. Anyway, Ill be back on late today to dee how everyones going.

OMG - I was beginning to think I was the only one from Coffs attempting NaNo... It's my first year as well - I have been writing short stories and flash fiction since the start of the year.

If you need story ideas, check the adopt-a-plot threads in the main forum area.

I've pretty much been working on mine for the last month.

Oh - don't worry - I know a few people that are 'winging it'. Plus there are plenty of fillers for when you run out of where to take the story to next.

Good to see a few Nanos in Coffs. Always felt a bit isolated in the past.

Maybe we can have a real live 'write-in' , though for some reasons the heavens have decided that I'm to have a social life in November. I'm blaming it on Venus.

A write-in? In Coffs? All of what... three of us? (Is extremely jealous of a fellow NaNo in QLD that went to a KOP on the weekend that had over 60 people in attendance).

Hey - well I live as close as I can to the beach AND within walking distance to two drinking venues...

I am up for a write-in, just as long as I don't end up being the only one there. :)

Hey everyone

I'm from Port Macquarie, and this is my second year doing NaNo, it's really cool to see how many people are doing NaNo in the area, I never would have guessed.

For my Novel this year I am writing a Fantasy novel about a young sorceress who must stop a poison before it kills an entire race by rotting them inside out.

14th-17th suits me best.

Happy to host, but Im equally happy to take a pad and pencil somewhere else. (Yes Im still on a lower evolutionary rung, not owning a laptop but I used to do all my writing with pen and paper so itll be a nice flashback.)

So that's four of us that could be in for a 'write-in'? I'm fairly flexible with time - but I think we should detail what dates are not convenient, and try to pick a date that suits all of us.

The only other question is venue. I don't drive, but I can walk to most places around Coffs (like I would ordinarily do for anything else). Do you want to met just for the writing, or do you want to make it a sort of semi-social thing as well (mutual moral support for NaNo)? Ergo - we'll probably need somewhere with the usual conveniences.

Is that the Coffs Writer's Group or Nitewriters? I was going to join one of them some time back, but decided that I received plenty of support with the online community that I am involved with (Storywrite.com).

@baz

22nd sounds good. I work nights so a weekday thing doesnt really work for me unless its before 3.

@tallblondie

Im on Ocean Pde. That might give you an idea of how far youd need to wander if we had it at my joint. Cafes and pub a hop and a skip away.
