Hi Maria. I'm Peter, second time Nano. I just logged on for the first time today and saw your post so I want to be the first to say welcome to Dublin and welcome to Nano. Hopefully nearer the end of the month we'll hear from our Municipal Liaisons and get details of weekly meetings. In the meantime, we'll see you on the boards.

It's not my first year, I'm not an ex-Pat (or resident of Ireland). I'm Lillian and I'm from Canada.
My brother had worked in Ireland for a couple of years back in 2002/3 and my mother and I visited him (and enjoyed your country) while he was there.
I will be basing this year's Nano in Ireland so I'm going to be checking with you to verify (or not) my vague memories...

Hi folks! I'm Muriel (aka Mamo) and I had to reply when I saw someone coming in from San Diego - I spent a term in college there and loved it! This will be my third year of Nano - thoroughly enjoyed it both the previous times. Will look forward to 'seeing' the overseas contingent through the month!

I'm not an ex-pat either, but thought this might be the place to stick my nose in. I'm in North Carolina, but my novel is based in Ireland. I did some research for it in Dublin and Co. Westmeath in 2006.
This will be my first nanowrimo!

You're welcome, HW! Hope you had a good time in Dublin. Will you join the War of Words? For the Dublin and Irish teams? It's good fun.
You can also mail here if there is some data you want for your novel, as some of us actually live in Dublin (and probably Westmeath, too).
When is your novel set? Present time, future of historical?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm thinking about the Word Wars, a little nervous since this is my first nano ... o.k. thought about it. I'm in! (hmmm... now Dublin or Leinster?)
My book is set mid-17th to mid-18th century, when my ancestors lived in Ireland. I hope to go back next year and do more research, but will have to see.

Well, from Dubin, lived in US since 98, been in Antarctica from 02 to 06 and now in Iraq since early 07 so I think i qualify.
Not sure how often I will be able to log in though but, will try to catch up when I can.
San Diego is too humid and NC is too far from NM damnitall but I have the closest of friends in both places, welcome all.

Delighted to see you back in again this year, Brendan. Are you joining the Word War this time?

Mamo, already in Love, gearing up and now it's down to the hard part, picking ONE of the 5 bleeding storylines I am thinking of and trying to stick with it for a whole month.
Looking forward to making them understand why Dublin is the Capital after all, hahaha

You could always do a Tom Clancy and start all five storylines, then work them together . . .
