Is anyone in this group by default because it's the only one in Yorkshire?

The 'Rest of England' group has posts on it asking for writers in Sheffield and/or Barnsley for anyone here who is in the south of the region. I'm close to Denby Dale. I'd be happy to hear from writers interested in a face to face writing group (no reading aloud required). I'd be especially intyerested in talking to other writers of fantasy and science fiction.

I'm Halifax, but I'd love to go to a meet up in Huddersfield. I'm also writing sci-fi. Anywhere within West Yorkshire is happily cheap for me to get to

I'm near York but where i live is pretty close to Wakey. (or so I think, no one else seem's too.) XD
I think I need to take a ponder at the "rest of England" forum....

A meet up would be great but for this years Nano I'm not going to do fantasy. For once XD

I'm in Huddersfield and work in York. (Learning to drive this summer was a godsend!)

Last year I wrote fantasy, but haven't decided what to do this year. I'm debating over the sequel to that story, sci fi or something completely random and different.

I'M FROM HUDDERSFIELD!
I've done the NaNoWriMo a few times, and I've been to meetups in Leeds on free weekends-which are rare treats. Sadly, I've never managed to meet another participant from Huddersfield, tragic.

Any meetups in the Huddersfield area or near please give me a shout.

I'm a Huddersfielder and would be up for meeting up with other Wrimos around here.

Anybody else think Coffee Evolution in town would be the perfect place to get the creative juices flowing? (If you don't know where it is, that's even more reason to come and meet up - amazing white hot chocolates :D)

Wow, that's quite a few of us within striking distance of the Huddersfield area and some of us writing SF too!
Great stuff.

Is anyone planning to be at the kick off party at the West Yorkshire Playhouse?
I'd also be happy to host a mini-NaNo meet. I'm close to Denby Dale which is handy for Huddersfield, Wakefield and Barnsley and not too far for the Sheffield folks either.

I'd love to get a novel writers' group started in the area, particularly SF (any kind of speculative fiction). I write both fantasy and science fiction and I haven't quite decided which one I'm doing for NaNo yet as I have two ideas on the boil.

I'm a regular attendee at Milford - a SF writers' week where writers get together to workshop their ideas in an atmosphere of total support. If anyone wamted a working meeting as well as a social one. My idea would be to work on the Milford principles and pass round manuscript chunks beforehand to read. At the meeting everyone crits the designated manuscript (in turn) and then the author gets his/her say. After that a general helpful discussion follows.

If anyone wants to email me I'm contactable via my website at www.jaceybedford.co.uk

Let me know.

I may be there, have been persuading some people at work to sign up and join so if they go then I may (hate going places alone lol). Have definitly decided on a SF/ Fantasy novel and scrapped the horror aspect :D

I'm in Halifax so pretty near to Huddersfield though I don't know it well. White hot chocolates sound heavenly, maybe I'll try it out next time I have a day ticket ^_^

I live in Wakefield, but visit Huddersfield and Halifax quite often for work. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to write about. This is my first time. I would like to meet up!

I'm in Wakefield, but could probably get to Denby Dale or wherever as long as parking is easy, and preferably free.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm writing yet, but considering what Japanese dramas I've been watching, it's probably going to be some kind of romantic tosh. Although I am generally better at fantasy writing, so I don't know.

So there's quite a few Huddersfielders around here then? That's good. Love the sound of white hot chocolate but I can't have it, I'm lactose intolerant, but I'd still come along and nibble on shortbread or summat. I'm not sure what I'm writing about this year, maybe a crime fiction, but probably I'll stick to my gothic novels. I'm hoping to attend the opening party but no promises since I normally work on a weekend.

Wakefield here, just had my arm twisted into signing up. So I'd love to meet up, need the push! I'm limited to public transport after a disastrous fast pass course in Blackpool though!

Haven't written creatively (aside from my CV) for a few years now. Read a lot of McNab and Ludlum recently and just come back from Russia, maybe that could be a starting point.

Another one for Huddersfield here. It's my first time taking part and I haven't yet decided on what I'm doing but I have a feeling it could go down the sci-fi/fantasy route.

I don't know if it will be sci-fi at the moment I think I'm just going to let the flow take me (possibly a bad route for a first time writer), because I've never managed to write with any sort of plan before.

I think a Huddersfield meet up would be cool, especially as a first time writer it would be good to meet those who've already done it.

I'm a first timer too. I have a half plan but the plot so far is very jumpy and contradictory, so I might just bin it and see what happens on Nov 1st (or 3rd as I'm away that weekend :()

Some of the Hudds lot made it to Leeds yesterday so I'm sure I could stretch to Huddersfield once or twice from Wakey.

I could give you a lift to some of them..... depend on how long it takes to get my car fixed, I was in a crash today and it's gonna need a lot doing to it :(

I'm currently thinking Scifi, stick with my true love, I've got a few idea's in my head but nothing that resembles a plot. It's cool to see there's a fair few people from Wakefield.

We could hold a small Wakey meet? I'm tempted to go sci-fi or historic fiction (Napoleonic era) but will stick to my guns. Either way its gonna be an incohesive mess...

I'd be up for a Wakey meet so long as it's on a weekend, might be able to squeeze one in during the week but it'd be more difficult. Anyone know where we could hold it?

Costa or Tchibo or something with seats, quiet and drinks?

Both places sound good though Costa might be a little better, Tchibo tends to get quite crowded.
