It's a Sacramento tradition (sort of) to have a Meet-n-Greet party for the Sac Nanoers in addition to the official Kickoff party on Halloween.
So, this year's Meet-n-Greet, where we have games and fun and contests, will be happening, as usual, at my house on Sunday the 26th of October, at 2:00 p.m. This is a potluck event, so bring food! As always, we will divide the table up between "Health" and "Death". (We won't be providing alcohol, as we suspect there will be minors present.)
My address is 1865 Discovery Way in Sacramento. As you come down Discovery Way from T Street, my house is the house with the big white staircase in front, and it will be on the right hand side. I'll also have a couple of NaNoWriMo signs on the banisters in front. This URL leads to a Google Map which shows you the location of my house: http://tinyurl.com/47vqs5
So, once again.
WHAT: Meet-n-Greet Potluck Party with Games and Random Joy
WHEN: Sunday the 26th of October at 2:00
WHERE: Richard's house

Sounds great, Richard! I'll plan on being there.
Thanks for hosting. Now, I just need to decide between "health" and "death."

That's my mom's birthday. :( Drat! (My mom's birthday always conflicts with the one day I have stuff. It's weird.) Well, I'll try to be there. :)

I don't understand the dilemma of "choice". If you have one, you can have the other, and they balance each other out, correct? And then you really just have "temporary ickiness."

I want to be there, but . . . We're going to be converting over to a new computer system at work and I just bet I'll be stuck there all day.
:(
I'll try to get there. (I don't want to work on the weekend!!!)

Inked, it can if you want it to be. Nobody will stop you from showing up in costume. I can't say anybody else will be, though... unless you count jeans and a sweatshirt a "NaNo slob" costume... :)

Fair enough. I'll probably opt for something in the vein of "last time I bother with makeup or a freshly laundered shirt until after November."
I just didn't want to show up with NO costume and feel like a goof. :)

Assuming nothing else prevents my path to excellence (AKA: any party with yummy goodies!) i'll be there! ^^ I may even bring some of the uber-deadly treats... God I love chocolate mousse...

It was so fun last year, I hope I can make it again this year because that would be freaking awesome. (And my mom might actually stay since she's thinking about nanoing this year too!) but I don't know if I will bring deadly brownies again. Maybe I will bring something healthy, like...a vegetable tray. : )

Costumes were generally the kickoff, because it's held on October 31st going into November 1st. So it's our way of acknowledging the holiday. :)
The meet-and-greet is just people having fun.

You know, I'll never fit into my BRIGHT YELLOW SHIRT the home office gave us for surviving one year of this ML thing and being crazy to come back for a second, so we could mount that on a pole and stick it outside. Then *nobody* will miss the place.
