No, but I could make it there for a meet up if anyone else wanted to!

Well, I'm Bridgend based, but I go to Swansea every Mon-Fri for Uni if that helps.

Hi,
I'm in Llandeilo, so going to Swansea would be no trouble. Is this your first Na NoWriMo?

Usually, yes!
Currently France-based, though. :( And will be for most of November, as I come back out here on the 4th!

I'm afraid I won't be able to get to Swansea, (sorry, it's a long way from Chepstow), so would anyone who knows the pubs like to suggest a venue and a date? Let's see if we can get a meet-up rolling over there ;-)

I unfortunately don't know the pubs (studying in Swansea for a semester) but I'd love to go for a meet-up if someone else picked a time and place!

Haha, me too. I've only been here a month, so I don't know the area that well. But I'd love to have a meet up.

I'm at Swansea Uni doing Applied Linguistics. Originally from Morpeth in Northumberland...approx 20 mins north of Newcastle.

I know Morpeth! Got friends there, cause I went to uni in Durham. Did you get flooded earlier in the summer? My friends escaped but said it was pretty horrific.

KERI!
*ahem* I'm also in Swansea Uni, doing Applied Linguistics and English.
As for pubs in Swansea, I'm not 100% on them, but I regularly go to Magic: the Gathering drafts in The Rhyddings in Uplands, which has a very nice function room that may be available. Not sure about power for laptops etc. but there's plenty of space and tables, and of course a pub downstairs ;)

Considering most of us are studying at Swansea Uni, wouldn't it be easier if we arrange a time to meet in the Dining Hall in Fulton House if we are going to have a meet up?

Good idea.
When's a good time for everyone? Thursdays is best for me due to a large free between 10 and 1, be nice to cram some frantic writing into it :D

Late to drop by, as per usual!
I'm based in swansea during uni terms! So I'll be here in November. I study Psychology though, as does my flatemate and fellow nanoer, Kangoolari.
So... anyone else having plot issues in the swansea area, or is it just me?
Oh, also, last year, when writers block temporarily set in, I found that midnight-early morning walks really helped because there is a lot of inspiration around the parks at that time. However, if you go into the park by the uni and head to the chalet, my advice is don't. Its evil up there, and every time we've been that way at that time of night, we've been pretty much stalked right back to our front door by a nothing. Its freaky, to be sure.
Anyways. I found the library was lovely and quiet for tucking away a couple of hours writing, but I didn't find any plugs for my laptop last year, so it's good for paper writing. Or the landing areas of the student housing blocks on campus. I recomend the floor outside the lift in the Caswell building. It came in handy during my first year of uni for essay writing. Perhaps it'll help with Nano?

Monday 9-11 is probably best for me. I do have Thursday and Friday afternoons off, but as I commute from Bridgend I like a 12 o'clock finish

Sounds like you guys are going to have a great time.
I'm just gonna throw a pebble into the pond - how about this Thursday, Dining Hall at Fulton House, from about 12 noon?
You don't have to follow my suggestion, but if it doesn't suit you, suggest something that does and you'll soon have a meet-up organised.
Happy NaNoing!

That time sounds good to me - I live really near University so anything that doesn't clash with lectures is fine. Though I may have to check if I have some sort of meeting thing about my year abroad! Which dining room do you mean btw? I manned a stall at Fresher's Fayre this year and got well confused about which way to go to which one haha!

I think the main one in Fulton that has a caneen at the back, a coffe shop on one side, a curry restraunt on the other and a balcony at the front. (or at least that's the one I suggested earlier).

Thursday at noon isn't good for me, because I have a lecture at 12. Haha. But if Thursday's good for everyone else, it's fine :D I'm not going to be around this Thursday anyway. I hafta go home and I'll be away from Wednesday until Sunday.

Hmm. Well, how's about this?
As I said, I have 10-1 free on a Thursday. I could camp out in the dining hall in Fulton and abduct some seats, and then whenever everyone else can come along, they can wander in, and we can stay there and be all frantic about NaNo :) If you have lectures you can come and go as you need to, and in between we can possibly work out a regular meet throughout NaNo for some group writing and discuss any plots that need a boot up the jacksie and so on and so forth.
Just a suggestion ^^

That sounds great--unfortunately I'll be gone this Thursday, but I would really look forward to future meetings. :)

How will we recognise you? Will you have a large banner with NaNoWriMo on it or something?
