How would everyone like to get together prior to NaNo? I think it would be nice for all of us to meet each other to brainstorm or simply say hello and be able to put a face to a name. I'm throwing an idea out there but if the date/time/place doesn't work, feel free to suggest something else.

Sunday, October 26th at the Barnes & Noble cafe on Grape road. Is 7pm too late?

I would love to meet you guys before this thing kicks off for good, but I work Sunday nights at the Trib until 11:30, 12. If anyone wants to meet early on Sunday or after I'm off work, that would be cool.

Does anyone know if we have an ML lined up for this year yet?

I'd love to come, but I have no transportation, save a bike, and I also don't know where Grape rd is. ^.^; Also, I think I might have bagpipe practice then, anyway. -shrugs-

I'm down for the Oct. 26th meeting at B&N.

Also, per our discussion yesterday, I propose a NaNo Happy Hour at Legends of Notre Dame sometime during the first full week of November — if for no other reason than so Amanda can step foot onto the ND campus at least once in her life. Josh said he is a fan of the Thursday drink specials so what do people think about Nov. 6? Sometime around 6:00-6:30? (I know there are some folks in the group who are under 21, but Legends serves food and soft drinks so accommodations are available for all.) I realize this may be too early to make concrete plans, but I'll too busy noveling in November to make plan events, so I figured I'd throw this out now.

Oct 26 sounds good, also thursday legends is a great idea, I'm sure we'll be needing a break after the initial sprint anyway. Look forward to meeting you all.

He's not NaNoing this year... something about being too busy writing a silly dissertation for his silly PHD or whatever. I told him he needs to get his priorities in check, but alas, I don't think he listened to me. :)

I'm game for Happy Hour! I wouldn't be able to make it until about 6:30 though due to my work schedule.

Two questions...
1) Is it a smoking facility?
2) How do I get there?

Legends is a restaurant, so it's non-smoking. There are vague directions at the website here.

If we're really serious about doing this, we should probably try to coordinate a reservation, maybe even see if we can't get their little back room.

Wait, are you SERIOUS? I mean, he doesn't have to finish it in December if he's not graduating until May. Come on.

Hi, I live in Michigan, but I'm in Berrien Springs, it's about 20 minuets away, is it okay if I still come?
The only other option I have is driving two hours. Please let me know.
I'd really like to come and join you all.

Absolutely! Josh is all about poaching people from other regions. We have people who come from all over. And it's great fun. Well worth the drive.

I say your region is whatever is closest. And the more bodies writing, the better our regional wordcount (Josh is gonna love that). Also, if you can get a subscription to the South Bend Tribune, you're totally in this area.

Oh, by the way, is anyone planning on coming to the meet and greet really early? I have to be at work at 4, but I might go for a little while to plot if I can get my husband to stay home with the baby.

I'll most likely be there on the early side, but probably no earlier than 5:30 or 6:00 or so... it depends on how much of my novel I get outlined by then. :-) It's so much easier to be willing to be early once November hits, 'cause any time can be good for writing!

Are we meeting in the cafe or in the section off to the side where all the chairs are?
