In one of the main forums, they do a CD Exchange every year. I thought it would be fun to do a modified version of that just between us. It makes it a bit easier to handle and a lot more interesting than just a plain ol' cd exchange.
So here's the gist.
Email (phoenowrimo@gmail.com) or PM me with the following information:
Username
Email address
Novel title (if you have it)
Basic plot summary (if you have it)
Genre (or thereabouts)
Or just say "Randomize" if you don't know anything about your novel yet
Then I will send your information to someone who will choose 5-8 songs that they feel would make a good soundtrack to your novel based on the information they've been given. They'll email it to you including the list and the sound files (if you feel comfortable doing that. If not, just the list is fine, and I'm sure people can help with locating sound files if necessary.). If you choose "Randomize", then the person who receives your information will choose a soundtrack that will hopefully inspire you to write something, anything.
Now, I don't want to exclude those of you that don't choose a plot until you begin writing, but I don't want people to cut into their writing time to work on this. So the deadline for getting your information to me will be Monday, 10/27. I will email everyone with their matches by Wednesday, 10/29, and you'll have until Sunday, 11/2 to get the soundtrack to the recipient.
If you're having trouble finding a particular song, email or PM me, and I'll see what I can do. I have mad skillz. And music-obsessed friends. :p

Great idea. I just wanted to share what I'm already listening to. Do people listen just for energy or do they surround themselves with music they think is appropo with their novel. And I'm at twitter.com/templestark as well where I'm following #nanowrimo participants from the phx / arizona area.
