Hi I live in Waikoloa. Anybody out there want to meet at Starbuck's? I put some flyers around. If you've seen them and found this region lounge welcome. If not welcome.

I'm in Kailua Kona. Not up for a drive to Waikoloa, but would be thrilled to meet up with someone a little closer to home.

Yeah, I missed the write-in last year. We always go to Oahu over Thanksgiving weekend and I NEVER get any writing done while I'm there, which makes Nano that much more of a challenge.

I've never met Catherine, maybe we'll have to hook up next month. If you are ever in Kona, let me know. I've got a pretty flexible schedule.

Dulcie and Catherine,
Do you want to plan to get together in Kona area on Sat Nov. 8 just as we are heading into the second week? Do you know a place? We could meet at the coffee shop we went to last year. I don't remember the name, do you Catherine? It's on Alii Dr.

Last year we met at Lava Java. I would be up for that. Might there be more space for us at Borders though? Either way let's do it!

Yeah, let's do it. I'm game for anything that gets me out of my house and away from my kids on a Saturday.

Let us know when you have a specific (or tentative!) date/time (maybe move it to the write-ins thread? *hint* *hint*), we'll put it on the calendar!

I live in Kona and work for the newspaper (West Hawaii Today) and was thinking about doing up a story about NaNoWriMo. I've participated in past years myself. You can email me at baron@mediabaron.com

Aloha!
Sounds like a great idea for a story. It's great, isn't it, how many writers we have here? It does seem as if there are quite a few from UHH though, and it would be great to see some of the others writers here participate. I'm the VP of Programs for the Honolulu Chapter of the National Writers Association (newly appointed to this position!) and I'm going to email some of the writers and see if they want to take up the gauntlet, as it were. We have some fabulous writers in our group, always looking for more though! It's a small but intense group and we meet every 1st Tuesday of each month at Borders at Ward here in Honolulu.

I was actually thinking of writing a daily journal of this experience, since it is the first time I've done this. What do you think? What kind of input do you want for yoru article? I'd be glad to help!

I'm very excited about this challenge and really looking forward to it! Sounds like such a great opportunity. I'm always looking for new excuses to push myself past my comfort zone anyway! I live for the challenge!

Aloha and Good luck with your writing!

Aloha Liz,
Sounds like a great idea to keep a journal. I think I'll focus on making entries in my online journal daily. I'm sure it will make interesting reading later - all our challenges.
Happy writing,

I've had an attitude adjustment and decided since our ML's will come all the way to the big island, that I can go as far as Hilo, at least. Any of you West Hawaii people want to carpool with me, to Hilo on the 15th?
This is in addition to our get together on the 8th in Kona at Border's. : )

Attitude adjustment, huh? Can I use that as an excuse to get out of work? "Sorry, I can't make it in on Saturday, I had an attitude adjustment?" Hee hee! Sounds like a plan. What time are we meeting on the eighth? If it was in the am I wouldn't have to skip work two weeks in a row. Yeah, I wouldn't turn down a ride to Hilo, chip in for gas etc. I am really in it for the fun this year. Can you tell???

I'm good for the morning, too. Not so sure about the road trip to Hilo though, I'll have to think about that one. I'm a hermit and it's hard to get me out of the house.

Stay well,
