Hi! I am a freshman at DC High School and wondering if there are any NaNoers other than myself and one of my friends in the vicinity of Carmichael through Citrus Heights? If so, then introduce yourselves here! Also, if anyone has ideas for a kick-off party then go ahead and give them to me here.

I'm in Fair Oaks! This is going to be my third year nanoing, and (hopefully) I'll actually FINISH a novel this year : )

I remember...
Your eyes glittered like so many stars,
A million and one secrets hidden in

I wanted to unwrap them like sugar-sweet lemon drops,
And get to the bottom of you.

I'm in Roseville, at Oakmont High School. I don't know how close that is - about half a hour, driving?

Have you guys come up with any ideas for write ins or events in your area? Or would you care to join the Sacramento group?

Well, there's going to be the Roseville write-ins on Saturdays at the Panera with dispersion to wherever we feel like afterwards. We could probably do something easily in Carmichael as well. My first year, we met at Madison Station on Madison and Manzanita. I'm not sure if they're still there, but if anybody in Carmichael/Citrus Heights/Fair Oaks knows a good coffee shop, I'm game.

(I'm in Antelope, which isn't all that far away.)

I usually hang out at the Starbucks at the Manzanita/Fair Oaks split behind the Denny's.

There's also Java Centrale right at the split which has free internet. I think they've started staying open for longer hours so i'm going to check it out this week and I'll let you know. It's very small though.

I wouldn't mind meeting on maybe Monday or Tuesday nights at either location.

Or maybe early on Saturday or Sunday before one of the other write-ins?

Is Java Centrale the one across the corner from that Starbucks? Next to Long's, Garcia's, etc. It used to be called Coffee Break Cafe--or maybe we're talking about entirely different places. They had free wifi and it didn't seem too small a place. But I haven't been there in a year or more, so...

I have no idea where you're talking about!

Java Centrale is where Fair Oaks meets Manzanita - right in the middle there across the street from Denny's and Hollywood video.

Where's that other place???

Ahhh, I'm getting my Carmichael intersections confused. This one is at Madison and Manzanita. It's not actually at the intersection but one side of the street has a huuuuge parking lot with a Home Depot and Longs and other stuff. It's over there. Or at least it was. I used to work at the bookstore on the other side of the street, the one that shares the parking lot with Dennys.

I've never gone to that one. I think there's a Lyons on the corner (and a new Starbucks) and another cafe that katster mentioned somewhere. I'll have to check around for other places. Is anyone interested in meeting in my part of town?

Hi. For those who don't know me, I'm actually a Rancho person, but I spend lots of time in the Fair Oaks area.

I'm in college (Davis) but I commute and all of that fancy stuff, so I won't be able to get anywhere before 7 or 8 Tu, Wed, or Thu, so I'll try to drop by if I get the time.

I'm in the Citrus Heights/Roseville Area... And I've done this sucker ever since it started!
... unfortunately, about week 3 it all seems so hopeless/ soooo much work... I ususally can't finish.
I will try again though! *shakes fist at sky*

Greetings! Third time of Nano for me, though not consecutively. I've won once, fallen short twice, but I'm determined, this year.

As for getting together, I'm in Carmichael, close to the Manzanita/Fair Oaks Blvd. split, so the Starbucks or anything in that general area sounds great to me. I'll check back in a day or two and see if anyone here has named a specific day/place/time for getting together. In the meantime, Happy Nano, one and all. And hey -- such a deal -- we get an extra hour tonight! Just think of all the extra words we can churn out.....

I came to Java Centrale this morning. They've changed their hours to 7am to midnight. So i'm hanging out here for another hour or two. If anyone wants to maybe meet here tomorrow night after seven, I could make it.

SacBill and I also discussed Peets over on Howe as a place to meet. Of course that's Arden.

So anyone want to meet up tomorrow night? The place is small, but there's free wifi.

Java Centrale is located at the split of Fair Oaks Blvd and Manzanita across the street from Denny's in Carmichael.

Edit: The address is 7459 Fair Oaks Blvd. If that helps.

Okay - so i showed up but no one else replied or came! Oh well! I'm going to hit my quota for the day and then head home. This rain is insane!

Maybe some other time, fellow Carmichael residents!
