And (as usual) North County SD writers are always welcome at our Temecula write-ins and events. You can check out today's post for info on our kick-off party next Saturday (Oct. 18th.) We're meeting at the Grace Mellman Library and the room is large enough for anyone who cares to show up. We also have weekly write-ins in Temecula and anyone who'd like to show up is more than welcome to do so!

The more, the merrier!

Kalindria and GFW: It's great to see that you're both participating this year.

My Vista home is in between the two events. For now I'll have to limit my travel and stay close to home.

I'll be with you in spirit.

Jim, my first NaNo I was the only Temecula person and I set up my own write-in and publicized it here. You can do that as well. Not everyone has the means or will to travel, especially during November when time is better spent writing.

I would urge you to consider a kick-off of Thank God It's Over (TGIO) event, if you can manage it. Those are a blast and since they're not in November, won't interfere with your writing endeavors!! My region is huge - Riverside AND San Bernardino counties and most of my WriMos carpool to those events. It just makes sense.

Whatever you choose to do, have fun and best of luck with your novel!!

Thank you, Kalindria :-) I could simply announce some events in Vista and see who shows up.

Hi, I'm Jackie Allen, known as Good Bad Girl on this site. I'm looking forward to another month of fun and work. I live in Carlsbad, but I don't mind driving a bit to get some work done.

I attended the November 18 meetup - or rather I tried to. I got there a few minutes early and hung around until almost 7:15 but saw no one else. Was this one canceled and a notification just didn't go out? Quite frustrating since I really needed the atmosphere of a write-in last night - and I drove about 20 miles each way. Guess I'll stick with the main San Diego group for write-ins from now on.

Hi Martha :-)

I guess that you and Linda missed each other. Here's what Eva sent out in an email last night at 8:47 PM.

Eva's Email wrote:
Hi there,

Well, I guess Linda was the only one who showed up this Tuesday, and she was driving 30 miles to do the meeting, so she is stepping down as organizer, and I am no longer doing the challenge this year.

Linda will still be doing the Write-In at Panera this Thursday, so please join her if you are interested.

After that meeting, we will not have any more meetings - this will become an email-only support group. If you would like more support, here are some options:

San Diego

---- write ins -

North County

---- write ins -

It was nice to meet you, and good luck in your adventures!

Eva

We typically have four people at our Vista write-ins. Last Thursday I attended the Encinitas write-in. There were four of us there. These gatherings have been fun, friendly, and productive.

I trust that Linda's Escondido write-in will also be great. She's doing a good thing by hosting this write-in. So I hope she will get lots of support and encouragement.

I'm sorry that you and Linda wound up driving so far without getting to meet with fellow writers.

It is too bad that Linda and I didn't connect last night. Unfortunately, I live in Poway so Vista and Encinitas are a bit too far for me - and I cannot attend the Thursday one in Escondido. Ah well, perhaps next year there will be more people closer to inland north city/north county. Write on, everyone :-).

Hi Martha :-)

You might wish to create a write-in at a nearby place you know and love. You can publicize it here on this forum.

It's a no risk approach since you'll be writing at a place in your own neighborhood. You might be pleasantly surprised and have some local writers join you.
