Hi guys

I'm the regional ML who is covering the Stirling area, and I'm just creating this post to give people the space to discuss locations for the pre-Nano meet-up, the weekly meets and the post-Nano TGIO party.

I was thinking the weekly meetings could be on a Wednesday evening.

Hi Katy,

I signed up last year but unfortunately life dramatically got in the way. I think I've signed up again this year since I logged in and agreed to the terms. That means I'm in, right?

I'd be interested in a Stirling weekly meet up. Or can do Perth if there are more people as I'm halfway between both places.

I'm really up for it this year. I gave up work earlier this year to have a go at writing my novel (among other things) so some hand holding and butt kicking is in order!

Would be interested in Stirling meet-ups, so if you could keep me in mind when arranging anything please?

I'm in Killearn.

I might be able to get to Stirling, but not in the evenings, unfortunately as I live near Falkirk and have no car. However if we're meeting during the day I should be able to get through.

Oops, I meant to add that during the day would be better for me too, because of my kids, but evenings could be alright if I arranged a babysitter. Whatever is arranged, I will try my best to attend. Would be nice to meet fellow Nano-ers. :)

Unfortunately I work during the day, and would not be able to attend.

Ali, up to you whether you choose Perth and Stirling - in fact, you could do both if you feel like it!! Out of interest, where between the two are you, as I used to live in the middle myself!!

Thanks for signing up guys, and I'm glad to see previous failures haven't put you off.

I thought perhaps Wendesday at 6pm. And that way, if people can only come for a little bit, at least there's the option.

Does anyone have an idea as to where we can do it? I'm going to get in touch with a couple of places to check out opening times and such.

Okay, I have found a meeting place, so we are ready to proceed.

The weekly Stirling Nanowrimo meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 6pm (beginning a week today) at Beanscene in King Street.

I will be there from 6pm until 7pm, so if you can't make it bang on 6 then I'll still be there. If people want to keep it going longer than 7pm, I'll definitely be up for that.

So I hope you can all make it, and no one is obligated to attend every one. If you go to the pre-Nano, then during November you get swept up in writing madness, you don't have to attend. Or if half way through you feel you need some support but didn't go to the first one, no problems.

If you could, please let me know if you plan to attend next week before Tuesday, so I can get an idea of numbers and put some stuff together.

Hi all, this is my first try at NanoWrimo, or even at writing anything other than a few hundred words of short story. Unfortuntately I'm already starting to look at how busy I'll be next month and wondering where I'll find any time! Thankfully though I live really close to Beanscene so hopefully I'll be able to drop in and get some inspiration to find the time I need from everyone else's enthusiasm. =)

Good for you Mandy, and I find burying your head in the sand and ignoring everything else you need to do works well!!

I'm at Stirling uni and am planning on writing most evenings in the atrium. If anyone fancies joining me, they'd be more than welcome.

I might be interested, though I do live out passed Falkirk and don't have a car, and do have loads of young kids. Actually, the encouragement doesn't matter to me as I have no plan to finish nano and won't even post a word count. I have tendonitis, so can't write too much anyway. Besides, I write all year, not just in November. But, yes, interested... oh I write fantasy, by the way.

Katy, I'm a couple of miles north of Braco on the Crieff road.

I'll be there on Wed 5th. How will we recognise each other?

I write romance :)

This is just perfect for me! I work at Klick Photopoint at the bottom of King Street, and on wednesday I finish at 5:30. I'll do my best to be there unless something else comes up.

On the note of recognising each other, I'll be the big guy wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans trying to stay warm.

I'm out at the other end of Clacks so might turn up to either a Perth or a Stirling meet up at some point, though evenings aren't that easy! I finished successfully in 2006. Didin't complete in 2007 as a paid writing assignment with a deadline at the end of November got in the way (and was more of a priority!). Fingers crossed for 2008, though I'm away for a week visiting family, so not much writing will get done then! If I get on with it now I should get a few thousand words done before I go, so here I go...

Hi guys

Its so great to see you all ready to take part.

However, I have some bad news. I have a pretty bad throat infection and have been advised not to drive for a couple of days, so I won't be able to make tonight's meeting.

Im sorry, and things will be back to normal next week.

Hi guys

Apologies again for last week, that throat infection decided to really kick my butt. I couldn't stand for a few days I was that weak, so there was no chance I could attempt to venture out of the house.

But I am almost totally back to normal and will be at Beanscene this Wednesday at 6pm for the weekly meet up. I hope some of you can make it along.

I find the meet ups to be a great chance to meet other authors, chat about your novel or ways to write it (dealing with writer's block, tools of the trade etc) and generally just spend some time out of the house and stretch your legs!!

Anyone planning on coming tonight - I am here and I am at the back, wearing my black and white checked scarf and black cardigan.

I would just like to check and see who, if anyone is planning on coming along tomorrow night?

Also, I can't make a week tomorrow, as work is sending me away for training for a couple of days.

Unfortunately, I have to babysit tomorrow night as my mother is working late so I won't be able to make it at all, I'm afraid.

Hi

Unfortunately the meeting this Wednesday coming has had to be cancelled. I'm being sent off by my work for training and won't be around.

I'm sorry you've not had the chance to come to one of the other meetings, but I'm hoping to have a wrap up party at some point in the beginning of Dec to celebrate/lament our efforts.

Katy
