I plan to be there! Who is going to join me?

Writers Group info in a nutshell:

Location: Mo'Joe Coffeehouse at 222 West Michigan Street
Day: Saturdays
Time: 5:30 PM
Objectives: talk writing, share writing: socialize

The current hot topic is, of course, all things NaNoWriMo.

Everyone is welcome!

Besides, why anticipate, agonize, panic, and flail over NaNoWriMo all by yourself when you can do those things amongst other like-minded and sympathetic souls? Imagine, a group of people who aren't going to think you're crazy. Come join us! :-)

This sounds crazy to me, but I actually think I'm going to make it to TWO meetings in TWO WEEKS!

This sounds quite normal to all of you, but I could very well be all sad and whatnot halfway through November when I've managed to make to, like, one get-together for all my scheduling craziness. I hope this does not happen, but it's always hard telling.

So, here's me being all happy about coffee and writing on Saturday. -> !

I might be able to attend! *fingers crossed* Depends on the DH since he would be left with two kidlets and I nurse/pump for the youngest (<3 weeks old).

I take it the coffee is likely good at this place? :)

Yeah, I'll probably be there. No telling what I'll be working on, but I plan on being early. I just can't stand having Alicia beat me there! :)

I had planned on coming (for the first time EVER) to the write-up this Saturday, but, alas! Lady Luck has always been my most fervent enemy. My mum just happened to plan a "nice, big get-together" for Saturday night, to welcome home/say farewell to my collegiate sister (she'll only be here for a weekend, then it's off to Baylor with her!).
So, I cannot come. I will, however, attempt to make it to the 10/16 meeting. I have directions printed out! I have a friend I shall drag along! I have a mum to drive me! I should get there. But not if Luck can help it.

Sofia,

Yes, without a doubt the coffee is good. The also have all these other drinks that I'm sure have coffee in them somewhere, but they sure do look and taste like milkshakes! (Not that I'm complaining.)

By the way, I like the 455 in your screen name, because Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac's biggest engines in the heyday of horsepower was the 455. It was a lovely motor. Loads of torque, tons of horsepower. I'd buy one for the living room next time you get a chance.

I hope to make it, I just need to make sure that I can get a ride; if I do get a ride there then I might be a little early.

FYI, we're going to be down at the text book store side of the shop, when you walk in, go to the right all the way to the end. We'll have a table set up by 5:30. Come November this will be the regular spot, particularly if so many continue to come.

They are happy to have us. Great coffee, great atmosphere.

Hope to see you all soon.

Just for the record, I was there, and I want to report that it was everything I could have possibly hoped for. Jason, by being so knowledgeable and informative, achieved the trick of seeming like he was actually three or four people. This made up for the fact that three or four other people were absent.

Oh, and I want to applaud whoever it was that brought in the cake, pizza, and Jenga. Or, maybe that didn't happen. It's been a busy week.

Looking forward to many more discussions of how to properly stylized Tara's British character dialog next week.

You know, Tom, I'm still trying to decide if saying I was "three or four people" is meant to be a compliment or not. Actually, with NaNo coming up, being three or four people would make it much easier to get to 150k.

As for the pizza and Jenga, I'd say you'd better be careful what drink they serve you next time, because sounds like you were on some weird sort of trip there that the rest of us didn't get invited on.

Good seeing all of you -- we'll do it again next week!

Seriously, though, that was an amazingly awesome meeting today. I thoroughly enjoyed myself immeasurably. I look forward ecstatically to seeing you all next weekend.

Tara (says fondly, happily, and finally)

Molto bene

PS: Oh, and by the way Jason, cloning yourself IS cheating. :-P

Yes, this was one of the most enjoyable meetings I've been to, and that's saying something.

And I said nothing about cloning myself -- Tom said I was the equivalent of three or four people, so I was just going to use those potential people to write part of my novel for me. :)

That, and I'll be heck-bent if I'm going to let a newbie like Tom have more posts on the forums for NaNo 2008 than I do. I've got to turn into an annoying, posting fiend. :)

I'm, like, really, very amazed that I've accrued such a "large" number of posts! Do we need to get cattle prods out on folks? I'm not even averaging four a week, am I? *sigh*

"This is, like, really, very distressing," Tom said with a British accent.

Ericka nods stoically. "Good times were had."

Tom nods in agreement. "Indeed," he says, again with a British accent.

In the aftermath I stayed on, had some yogurt, and actually *gasp!* wrote! It was only one page of editing, but 'twas a good windup to a rewrite on my latest short story. Sweet.
