I'm posting this here because everyone's a bona fide participant of NaNoWriMo. Kudos to you for having a dream and doing something about it! We hope it is worthwhile enough to merit a small donation to the Office of Letters and Light for your enjoyment of the event. NaNoWriMo is a nonprofit, and—like all nonprofits—ever in need of funding.
This year the estimated cost of National Novel Writing Month and the Young Writers Program is $330,000. To cover those costs, we’re hoping to achieve “10 for 10”—ten percent of participants donating towards NaNoWriMo’s tenth year in existence.

I donated and it's a great feeling. Received the stickers in the mail today along with Chris' postcard. They are awesome. I would help urge everyone to donate. I am just waiting for my halo because I want to show off and get others to donate. Only three weeks until the massive amounts of coffee and madness start -- it is going by so slow.

I did donate last year. I probably won't this year, thanks to the fact that I may be fired from my job soon.
Although I am sitting this year out, I do wish all of you who do participate all the best with your writing, and I hope you have a great deal of fun with it. And I do think, if you can, that it's a good thing to support the effort that is put into this site. Instead of buying coffees from Starbucks for a couple of weeks, set aside the money and give it to the good folk at the Office of Letters and Light.

It looks like San Diego has donated $570 so far. And the halo is magical.
We are also 35th on the word count scoreboard (found under fun stuff, for anyone who is curious), with around 2.5 million words. And yes, I did write million.
