Hello, my fellow Gwinnett County denizens! There seem to be quite a few of us hanging around on the Atlanta boards this year, so I'm going to post this hear rather than in Georgia::Elsewhere.

I'm Erin, and while not an ML, I do want to try and plan a few get togethers for those of us out here in the suburbs. I know its hard to drive to Atlanta from here, and that MARTA isn't always effecient for us to use, but I think it would be awesome if we could create our own fun and write together as a community.

How about we start NaNo this year with a Kick-Off Party at the Atlanta Bread Company at the Mall of Georgia on Tuesday, October 21st at 7:00 pm. They have tables and food and coffee and plenty of space to get to know each other and brainstorm.

I would say the weekend before NaNo, but I'll be on the Breast Cancer 3 Day walk that weekend, so I'm afraid I won't have time for meetups at that point, sorry!

I think it would be great if we could continue meeting throughout the month. Tuesdays are a good day for me, but I realize they aren't for everyone, so introduce yourselves and throw some ideas out there!

I hope you're walking because you're supporting the cause and not because you're fighting breast cancer yourself. I think I've seen some of the walkers out in previous walks.

I might be able to make that. Does the Atlanta Bread Company have plugs for laptops?

I am definitely walking to support the cause! This year marks my Granny's thirtieth year as a survivor since she was diagnosed. I'm walking to honor her, and to try and prevent other families from having to go through the pain of watching a loved one fight this disease.

I am proud to be able to do this to honor my grandmother! Thank you for asking!

Klepto Von Umbre, I'm not sure about the plugs, but I can give them a call. They do offer free-wi fi, so I bet there are some to be found. If they've only got a couple I can always bring a powerstrip and extension cord. You shouldn't need your laptop at the Kick-Off party, though. It's more of a get to know you, find out what everyone is writing, kind of thing.

I hope you can make it!

ETA: I just called, and they do have outlets! Rock on ABC!

I am certainly going to try to make it to the first meeting! I've never done anything like NaNoWriMo so the support would be nice.

I'm attending a school function that night and cannot come, but will be watching for other opportunities for us to converge. MOG is 4 miles from my house! That's convenience!

I'll definitely try to be there. At former NaNo "get to know the group" meetings, we've played Imagine Iff, which was interesting and fun. Just an idea.

I'm glad there'll be some meetings closer than downtown Atlanta. :-)

If you guys have a write in around the Thanksgiving time of month, I'll be sure to drop by. I'm currently four hours away in my last semester at Georgia Southern, so Gwinett write-ins are a bit of a commute!

Bummer! I have to attend a bridal shower that evening starting at 6 pm. I'm afraid that with the dinner and the tedious opening of the gifts that it will last for a couple of hours.

Otherwise, I think Tuesdays will work for me. I'm about 15 minutes from the MOG.

Who's ready to party?

I know I am!

I'll be at ABC tonight at 7 wearing my fabulous chartruese scrubs. You can't miss me!

(And for those of you who can't pick out chartruese on the color wheel, I'll also have a sign that says NaNoWriMo. I know, I know, it's kind of cheating.)

Hope to see you all there!

I went, but I didn't see anyone from NaNo. :( I wasn't able to get there until 8:30 because I got lost, so I guess if anyone else did show up they had already left. XD

I was there at 7:00 and Erin was too. We waited for about 40 minutes and I left.

Klepto, I think I may have seen you as I was leaving. Sorry we missed each other, but by eight thirty I had to get going.

We'll plan something else for November, don't worry!

That's funny, Heather! I introduced myself the same way because I'm also from Dah-CUE-la.

Hello Writers!

I am looking for a few NaNoWriMo participants whom I can interview for an article I am writing for a journalism class. The interviews would only take about 20 minutes of your time and would be greatly appreciated. I would need to conduct the interviews no later than 11/23/08.

Anyone who can spare a few minutes on their writing/sanity break can contact me at bravo.58@gmail.com. I have to conduct the actual interviews in person or by phone (no e-mail interviews allowed for this class), we can work the out details if you are interested.

Thanks everyone - and good luck!

Bill P.

Sorry, Matt, I don't know of anything going on this evening.

I am going to take this opportunity to invite everyone over to Atlanta Bread Company again tomorrow night (Tuesday the 11th) at seven.

Directions are up in the first post, and I'll be wearing my chartreuse scrubs again, so people can pick me out of the crowd. (In case you don't automatically recognize the look of renzied novel writing in my eyes!) If you don't know what color chartreuse is, wikipedia can tell you here.

Sorry this note is so late, but if anyone can make it out I'd love to see you tomorrow night!

P.S. I plan on hitting up the ABC every Tuesday for the rest of the month, so if anyone wants to join me come on over! I didn't last week because I wanted to watch election results, but now that that's over with....

Hey Roulette,

I'll get there about 6:45 and leave about 8:30. I'll be wearing chartreuse scrubs (and probably my heavy coat!) I've also been one of few there with a laptop the last couple of weeks!

Hope to see you!

ABC tomorrow night (Tuesday) around 7!

Be there, or be a rhombus.

(I apologize for this post. I'm riding high on the fact that I'm ahead of the word count for the first time since the first week.)

*small happy dance*
