I don't know about you guys, but sometimes sitting down with other writers and talking about my work out loud helps me get going when I'm stuck. If anyone is interested, maybe we could start meeting up to chat and work on outlines/character sketches or whatever.
I'm a working mommy now (yikes) so my schedule is best for Mondays through Wednesdays afternoons/evenings, or afternoons on Thursdays and Fridays, or mornings on Saturdays and Sundays. If this works for you, post me a reply and we'll get something going. I'm moving into a large and luxurious apartment this week (although that could all be just my perception after being crammed into a 1-bedroom for a year) and I have a working coffee pot. Or I can lay my hands on a coffee urn like they have at church/AA meetings, if that kind of caffeine consumption is required. Or we could meet up at a local coffee house/eating establishment. As long as babies are allowed in, because unless my husband is home, that poor kid is joined to my hip. But he's a literary baby (I started reading to Roland at birth) so he'll fit right in.

Are we up to doing Saturday morning group writes again this year? Last year, whoever could make it went to Bella Vita in Granger (near SR-23 and Bittersweet) each Saturday morning to get together and write, staying until we felt like being done. The line of laptops across tables was quite the sight. It was probably equal parts writing and socializing, some times more productive than others, but always a blast. I'm totally up for doing something like that again this year.

Absolutely! I've already booked Bella Vita into my calendar for all Saturday mornings and afternoons in November. I think it was my favorite part of NaNo last year. :)

I should be around for some of the Saturday sessions; this year, now that I have a laptop, I'm very excited to be able to get a ton of writing done at a place other than my apartment!

Yeah, last year I worked Saturday mornings so I never made it to any of the meetings. This year I don' t have to be at work until 1, so that gives me some time to join in. No laptop, but maybe I can get my mom and dad to give up my brother's old one so that I can work on the novel on the go...otherwise, I'll be typing in the handwritten stuff later. No biggie.
But, I was thinking pre-November meet-ups at the moment. I've been working on an outline, so if anyone else has their plot and is over-eager for November to start, drop me a line. I'm in the middle of moving and working an 11-day week, and I still want to sit down and start in on my word count. But that would be cheating, so outlining it is, which by the by I have NEVER done before. It's a new feeling, kind of warm and tingly in my stomach. Or maybe that's just the coffee and stress saying hello to each other. Whatever. I like it.
