American here, too. Unfortunately I'm in the Bitburg/Trier area =/ I have a feeling I'm going to be nanoing alone this year. My German is pathetic at best.

I am Canadian - living in Canada - My Oma used to live in Wuppertal - spent my sixteenth year there - I think I could almost ride the sweberbahn all day writing if I was there - I am here for your moral support --- or the cheerleading section

Yes, we're in no short supply around Stuttgart, really. Here's hoping more will respond to this thread. Sarah, give me a shout if you like! Have no idea what I'll be writing about, but it would be fun to scout out a few more of us for a write-in at some point ...

Got another one for your collection, only I'm living near Hamburg, Germany at the moment. Didn't think there were so many people from across the "Grosser Teich" doing NaNo in Germany- remarkable!

I lived in Stuttgart up until June this year, now I'm in Heidelberg. I'm surprised there's not more military dependents joining the crazy.

One of the guys who was at the Stuttgart kick-off said he was going to be in the Starbucks on Schloßplatz every day. Any other suggestions for Stuttgart write-ins?

I'm not a spouse, but I am a dependent.

Speaking of us expats: Was anyone else glued to the television all night long? Or was I the only one?

I'm also an American in Frankfurt (West End). Yes, I was glued to the television until about 3am when I finally went to bed. Exciting times!

I'm based in Hannover; despite not being from the United States, nor any country in the Common Wealth, I feel more connected to any of those countries, than "Bella Germania" and wanted to add my little message here ;)

I'm not American, but I'm right now in Belleville, Illinois (only till Saturday though) and I'm writing my novel in English. Or at least I'm trying to ;) It's a great challenge!

I did watch some of the election, but it was getting late for me. I did tune in to the internet and TV by morning! Wow, what a campaign! Glad to see so many Americans and other nations living in Germany being a part of such a fun thing as NaNoWriMo.

I'm not American, but I write in English and my English is definitely still better than my German. I'm currently living in Berlin too. Would love to meet up for the after nano party!
